This was something I was talking about with my hubby on our date night last week. What do you want to change for 2020?
Our biggest one is financial goals! But we both know that if nothing changes, NOTHING changes! How can we achieve these goals? How can we make this happen?
So we got to work. Figured out areas we could save, and figured out where extra income could come into affect! One area for potiental growth is my hair business-the sky is the limit! Why not shoot for the stars??

Yes that’s a passport size journal! When I opened the box after it was delivered, I thought I was going to return it. Never in my life have I owned such a tiny journal. Where was I going to put all my words? 🤨📖✍️
Still... I gave it a chance. I put it on my shelf where all my notebooks live — it looked like my bigger journals had had a baby. So I started talking to it in my cute voice, like I would to a kitten ... and now I can’t just abandon it, we have a relationship. I wrote my first entry this morning. I decided it would be a sort of literary bible, a repository for all my favorite writers and their words of wisdom - it may become a soothing little pocket companion for my creative anxiety. 📚
I started with Rainer Maria Rilke. He was born today, on December 4th 1875. When I read “Letters to a Young Poet” I was a teenager and I fell in love with it. I already knew that I wanted to be a writer — so my mom gave me the book. It’s also her birthday today. ✨💖I RAN MY OWN EXPERIMENT ON MY 2019 VISION BOARD. THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. I created two different versions of my vision board in 2019. I wanted to see if creating two different formats would create a different result. What I learned through this experiment honestly blew my mind...and will blow your mind too!!

The first vision board that I created worked about 50%. I manifested a little over 50% of everything that I had put on that board. That number is pretty impressive, but look at what happened to my second vision board.
As for the second vision board, I created a completely different format. It ended up working out 100% all the way!!! YESSS!!! I said it! This vision board worked 100%. I manifested every single thing on that second vision board in 2019.

To my mommas out there. PLEASE stop talking negative about yourself around your children. Please stop calling yourself fat. Please stop pinching your skin in the mirror. Your babies see you. They look up to you. You are the most perfect human in their little minds and if they see you tearing yourself apart, it’s only a matter of time before they start to do it. •
The world is FULL of perfect, photoshopped, pictures. They’re already going to compare themselves to the kids at school. They’ll probably be bullied. They’ll be told they are good enough, pretty enough, thin enough, or smart enough.
Teach them how to speak LIFE into each other. Start with yourself. Let them see you build yourself up. Then, build them up. Talk about how smart they are, how worthy they are, how strong they are. •
With January right around the corner and the 2020 fat loss goals getting ready to go full steam ahead. Please, I’m begging you, don’t talk about it in front of your children. Show them that they can exercise to be strong and healthy. Not because they are punishing themselves because they eat. I don't know about you, but the holidays at school are a tough time for me to be healthy! There are so many treats being brought into the faculty room that it's hard to curb my sweet tooth.
BUT! With my training for the New Years Virtual 5k in full swing, I know that I need to embrace the foods that my body needs for fuel rather than the foods that my taste buds want for short-term satisfaction.
So, starting Wednesday, December 11, I am starting a new 10-day challenge to help keep me on track! I will be posting ONE healthy meal per day to help keep me accountable for my food choices for the days leading up to winter break.
Because there is no easy way to track for this challenge, this will simply be for fun and accountability. Those who share recipes for healthy yummy meals are the real all-stars here 🤩

These were my goals for 2019. With a few weeks remaining I thought I'd honestly assess how I've done below ⬇️...
1) Be Thrifty- I have definitely achieved this with stuff relating to Oliver. For myself I don't think I've bought much this year but when I have I could have been more savvy and shop around for a second hand bargain.
2) Less phone time- 😂❎ FAIL! If anything I think my phone time gets worse. Predominantly because I use it as connection. I strongly feel I am yet to find my 'tribe' of parents who get me, my thoughts and understanding truly on a face to face level, however, I'm in some online groups where I talk openly to strangers, and they get me. They get my parenting. We get each other and so I turn to my screen alot for that support I'm yet to find face to face.
3)Meal plan weekly- 😂❎ I'm the biggest in body fat % I have EVER been! Moving on 😂
4)Do more for the environment- Yes! We've made a few good home and personal swaps but I know I can do so much more. Work in progress.
5)Save more £- well I have started my pension but my new job doesn't pay into it until I've passed my 6 month probation so it's staying still till February annoyingly.
6)Create a wonderful garden for Oliver- Smashed it ✔️
7)Try to be a better mum/wife than I was yesterday- Yikes! Some days I nail this and other days I fail. I'd be honest enough to say I prioritise being a better mum than wife which I really need to try to find and bring balance too somehow!
8) Create an inspiring bedroom for Oliver- Nailed that ✔️
9)Get outside more- we do go out alot but not as much as I'd like. I'd definitely like to start trying to get out at least 30 minutes per day.
10)Self care- 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my eyebrows don't meet in the middle is that enough?
11)Read more- I'm improving. I've read 5 books this year 📚. I'd like to read 1 book per month at least in 2020.
12) Take time each week to reconnect as husband and wife- 🤣❎🙈 FAIL! We have a 2 year old who has slept through twice since birth! 😴🤣 Enough said.

As the final month of 2019 rolls on, I see a lot of posts about 2020 and moving on from 2019.
While I am definitey a supporter of planning for the future and the mantra of, "failing to plan is a plan for failure," let's not forget about the present. You still have time left to make impactful decisions in 2019.
One of the best lessons I learned in years of sports at varying levels was about finishing strong. Yes, the next big battle is just around the bend, but the momentum you build in a strong finish today could be just what you need to roll into that next fight firing on all cylinders.
While a long term vision is always important and you never want to lose sight of that future vision, let's also remember to not lose focus on the tasks at hand. The universe doesn't know that the calendar is changing over.
To all of you feeling like 2019 is over. Or even worse, that Q4 or 2019 is a write off, this message is for you... Don't give up. Dig deep. Yes, there isn't much time left at all in 2019, but you can still finish strong!
Start 2020 with a 2019 win!

But putting a band aid on only stops the bleeding temporarily. You’re likely to cut yourself again, if your skin is thin. The band aid isn’t addressing the cause, only the effect.
We live in a society that focuses so heavily on how to “quickly and easily” fix our problems AFTER they arise. But what if we could actually target the reason behind our issues so we can minimize them before they even occur? 💭
There’s a reason why there’s the saying “you are what you eat!” Eat like crap and your body will function like crap. It’s as easy as that!
Take care of your gut and it will take care of you. Nourish your body properly and suddenly band aid, topical, after-the-fact fixes seem silly.
You know what else is silly? Allowing yourself to judge others and assume “it’s one of those things” before you’ve even read the science behind it.
Go into 2020 with an open mind, a caring heart, and a nourished body ✨

Your “why” is the MOST important part of any goal you ever set out to achieve. It’s the thing you will come back to every time things get hard. It’s the thing that will get you out of bed at 5 am. It’s the thing that will keel you pressing forward even when you are exhausted. I can’t tell you what your why is, but I can tell you what my why is. .
My why for living a life dedicated to health is that I want to live the BEST life that I can while we are on this planet for this little time we have here. Life is short. Very short. .
I was very overweight long ago. I held back from living life to the fullest, for one I was physically and emotionally exhausted from the poor health choices I had made. I didn’t know at the time that I was NOT living a very fulfilling life. I was just getting through day by day. .
I got a glimpse of living a little more every time I lost a little of the weight, and started getting fitter. I noticed that I started actually doing things for fun like just going outside for a hike Or playing soccer with my kids. I also now enjoy seemingly shallow things like clothes shopping 🛍 because I like the way things fit me now. I actually enjoy going out with my friends and having a great time because I now have enough energy to do so. I am finally living. My “why” is to always feel this way... to feel more energetic and excited for ALL the new things that are happening in my life right now and in the future.
Before the New Year I challenge you to take some time to determine your “Why.” Before you decide that you want to get healthy. Your “WHY” is the most important decision you will make for any big goal you make.

2020 will not be ‘your year’ unless you actually make a change to what you’re doing right now. I also don’t believe that January 1st is ANY DIFFERENT to today, or yesterday or tomorrow.
Why wait only 26 more days to get fit, to eat healthy, to start a side hustle, to try something new, to start loving yourself. WHY WAIT???? Create the habit now so you go into 2020 as the best you yet, rather than fluffing around for the first month trying to find your feet in your ‘new you’
Maybe you are waiting for 2020 and you’re telling me to shh and you’re going to be the best you on January 1st. I can almost guarantee you’ll be hungover, so you’ll have your excuse ‘next week’ or ‘I’ll just start next month’ ... those excuses are exactly why you aren’t this new you right now. You can set all these goals and intentions for 2020 and be the best you yet, but those things won’t happen unless you change what you’re currently doing. Nothing changes if nothing changes. You won’t miraculously wake up as new person on January 1st. You’ll be the exact same person unless you decide to change your habits, your mindset and make LONG TERM and specific goals to work towards. I know every year I tell myself I’m going to start using my gym membership, I’m going to follow that program and eat healthy... 2 weeks in I give up and stop showing up for myself and I blame everything else around me. The gym doesn’t suck. The people at the gym aren’t judging you. You’re only unfit because you give up on yourself.
If you’re sick of your own excuses, stop making them and change it.
