Whom do we bow down to when we are in distress ?
The system of belief makes human more vulnerable to get dependent on to something which has been modelled to keep us tied to hope and morality in times of psychological chaos. We pray , we suffer and yet we pray again. Less we care to know about the effectivity and authenticity of our prayers. Religion plays with psychology and makes people under estimate their own skill to handle an adverse situation in life. It profusely exploits weakness of an individual and gains more control over him through the course of life.Fear and disbelief in own self plays a pivotal role in keeping people latched to something which probably can never be explained unanimously. The answers are all within us, waiting to be knocked on the right door.
“In questa ricerca il vero silenzio è quello che si vive chiudendo l’ultima pagina, mentre un macigno sul cuore fa nascere infinite riflessioni a cui, forse, solo il tempo darà le sue risposte.” Appunti per un naufragio.
@skillshare team asked me to talk about perfectionism in the creative process and they ask me why and if perfectionism can hinder creativity.
I think it's good to have a very precise idea of what you want and always carry your vision forward, but you need to be flexible and above all give respite to yourselves. We create the concept of perfection that we want to achieve by setting the finishing line always too far. It is not something that is perceived from the outside, and, from personal experience, the achievement of perfection that our mind creates is practically impossible to achieve. For this reason it only creates discomfort.
Especially in creative work, where we constantly struggle with the ups and downs (which can range from the difficulty of a freelance job, to having to deal with competition, to having to handle discards), adding mental limits is totally superfluous and harmful; it’s a waste of our time.
Personally I have never had the "fear" of not being perfect, I have always had faith in my work but the thought of being able to do better is always present and this often led to dissatisfaction.
What helped me was learned to have an overview, a bigger picture of the path; give you time and way to get to that "perfection".
Surely you can always do better, and it is good to have a push, but this push should not be an imposition but a source of inspiration. Mental freedom is the first characteristic that will lead us to create something unique, and to do so it is good to get out of all the constraints that we often set ourselves.
What do you think about it?
