It feels like it's finally here this week, with wild and wooly weather. We have been so lucky where we live to have had beautiful sunny days and warm temps. It can be quite a shock when the true cold and damp finally comes!
It's important to keep nourishing and keep moving, even when you want to hide away from the world under a blanket. Even slow movement, getting on your yoga mat and doing a few sun salutations and stretching is enough to get the blood flowing and warm you up!
Try to avoid doubling down on coffee and reach for some herbal teas instead. Ginger is always super warming and good for the gut too. Add some honey and lemon if your throat is feeling dry or irritated. Of course, water is still your best friend!
Meals can be supercharged with lots of herbs and bone broth, to keep you satiated and to add those immune boosting components in there.
Stay warm, but try not to live on top of the heater. Add thick socks and jumpers where needed and let your body warm up naturally. Same goes for too hot showers!

Coconut Shrimp Salad 🥗 Paleo & GF. Coconut shrimp always reminds me of being on vacation! I wish I was on a beach enjoying this summer salad but as long as I’m enjoying it somewhere, I’m a happy gal 😉 This is from last week, when we were eating up the leftovers from a batch of coconut shrimp I made! -
- #dinner details:
One pound of shrimp (I used extra large sized, deveined, Uncooked)
2 cups coconut flakes (unsweetened)
1/2 cup coconut flour
In a shallow bowl- whisk the 2 eggs.
Pour the coconut flour into another shallow bowl
Finally, put the coconut flakes on a plate.
You’ll take a shrimp (peeled, washed, and patted dry), dip it first in the flour then egg then the coconut. Lay it on a plate and repeat. Sprinkle with sea salt if you want!
Air Fryer Version:
Bake in the air fryer at 365F for 7 mins. I did two batches so it took about 15 mins total to cook them all! Served with @primalkitchenfoods cocktail sauce.
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and bake for 7-8 minutes, flip, bake for 7-8 more at 375F.
You want the shrimp to fluff up and be pink.

Over the course of the past year or two I’ve taken tons of risks. Most paid off, some didn’t. But the one constant that I have is that I’ve NEVER regretted taking those leaps or betting on myself because at least now I know🤷🏼♀️ We get one shot at life, literally just one. When I look back I never want to wonder what “could have happened” if I hadn’t been afraid or waited for the “perfect time”
I know it’s easy to think that you’re being smart for protecting yourself from failure, but you’re actually hurting yourself more long term. The timing is never going to be right and you’re going to suck as a beginner...news flash, so did everyone else🤷🏼♀️
Starting isn’t easy, it’s scary. But so is living a life that you hate, having a body you hate, or wondering what would have happened if you just went for it. Be afraid and do it anyways🤍
If I can promise you one thing it’s that you’ll never regret taking a risk on yourself. Even if you fail, at least you freakin tried💕
