Running a generator on Amazon packaging! This is the first run of the new version of the Metabolizer - a recycling center powered by waste biomass (like cardboard)! It works! #wastetoenergy#opensource#biomass#energy

We spend so much of our time thinking about what we could have or what we don’t have instead of focusing on all the things we do have. We are the lucky country, the land of opportunity, with wide open spaces & an abundance in natural flora & fauna. We will regenerate because we are resilient. Happy Australia Day 🇦🇺
Take me to the meowtains 🏔🐾 So nice to finally have a warm sunny day to stretch our legs! Angus is doing well with his leash and backpack training. Now that he is getting bolder and faster he is spending more time on the leash. Hopefully we can normalize the idea of sticking together as a group for future adventuring. If anyone out there has some training tips for hiking/camping with cats please send them our way 😂
2 moods, 1 beautiful half dome.
Funny story behind this amazing hike; both our phones, somehow, were playing tricks on us and the clock was ahead of 2 hours .. so we hiked up as fast as we could while still enjoying every bits of it (we started late, or so we thought .. and its a 5-6hrs hike round trip) Once at the top, we soaked in the view as quickly as possible as to not do the descent in the dark .. half way through the descent (which we hiked down at the speed of light) we ask someone for the time. It was 2pm not 4pm .. thats when we realized our clocks were 2hrs ahead .. 😑😅 it was a GREAT workout to say the least ! Haha #yosemite#glacierpoint
The garden has been a work in progress over the last 3 years. This off season we’ve decided to renovate the garden and make everything little smarter designed. Stay tuned to see the progress!! (Photo 1 from year 2 and photo 2 from year 1)

So for our first official post about the nest, I decided that I’d focus it on something that I think everyone should have....SOLAR PANELS!!! Seriously, last year we had to run generators in the summer to run power to our RV so we could have AC! Luckily we had a friend who was able to help us set up our system. We have two batteries and 6 panels which currently gives us just enough power, however we do plan on extending the system and adding panels! But to anyone just starting, this is a must!
This bull had a beef with me... We loved spending the day at Patagonia Lake, AZ. The views of the lake and the mountains were almost unbeatable. Can’t wait to go back and camp for a few nights!

The finished off-grid kitchen! I'm really happy with how it turned out. The green counter unit and black countertop are from Ikea, and so are the little bamboo shelves but besides that it's all reclaimed stuff and DIY work done by me and my dad! We found a vinyl version of the old floor that was originally in the kitchen and livingroom, I'm super happy with it cause I really loved the tiles but sadly they were all chipped away. I love that it's a little vintage but way brighter and cleaner than before. You can see the old kitchen in photos 2 and 3 and in photo 4 we had just started construction. Next up is decorating the living/dining area and then renovating the bedroom when it gets a little warmer out. We started with the kitchen/livingroom cause that's where the woodstove is 😁🥶

I’m kind of obsessed with this donkey and I think he likes me too. And he’s smiling. So there’s that. #sonnyandgeorge

your true nature is THIS. trees, flowers, growing your own food, the soil, your mind and your body, love, community and connections—that’s the real you. john lennon, gandhi, the dalai lama and all these philosophers throughout the years had it right. the lie is what you’ve been taught since you were born that abundance in money, cars and careers, material possessions equates to happiness when in reality this kind of thinking is what’s making the world sick. it’s creating a worldwide cancer. that’s the fantasy you’ve been told since you were born, you are more special and valuable than this world led you to believe. you are not a number, a suit, a job, the car you drive, you’re not a machine. you are beautifully human. with all your soul, emotions and dreams. you have stardust in your veins. you are the universe unfolding itself... remember how special you are. and if no one told you today— i love you. 💫❤️
This last week we've spent our time in the national park Tierra del Fuego. Next to Ushuaia there's a beautiful park with lots of trials and campsites. Cerro Guanaco was the absolute highlight, a 6 hour climb 13k, 960 meters up. Yup it was hard, but absolutely worth it. We've also made friends with a Caraca and Geese family kept us company after dinner. Good times here 🙏🤗
Anybody ever witness a chimney fire 🔥? Or even know what they are, how they happen, why they happen, or how to prevent them? Well I’m now educated in the subject. 🔥
Living this lifestyle teaches you at the most inconvenient times. When you’re ready to snuggle in your bed and the smoke detector is going off it is time to learn. 😳
Paranoia, in the lack of understanding, swoops in and gobbles you up. Breathe. Let your instincts guide. You got this. The roof is NOT on fire. Shut the stove down and watch the smoke stop streaming out of the pipe. Call your fellow badass mama in the home next door and listen to her calming words. Breathe. 💗
So I gotta clean the chimney. Routinely. The creosite builds up. It was scary and I’m ok. The house is not burning down and I handled it. 💪
Gratitude for those friends who support me in this lifestyle. I learned how to take chimney pipes out, clean them, and how to prevent it from happening again. 🙌
AND Now I have to find beauty and peace within the experience. This is the life I choose. It is hard and has challenges. If it were easy everyone would be living off grid. 🎉
Celebrate with wood stove 🥘 cooking! Honor my little stove, the power of 🔥 and the warmth it gives, and honor me. Nourish my soul, mind, and body.
