I’m ok with that. This was my third day of pressing this week and the other two were great.
Had some wins in Strongman-land today. Front carry with 160~ feeling remarkable, feeling speedy. 🥰
Got a benchmark for sandbag to shoulder to start to improve over the next few weeks from a conditioning standpoint. It’s about 40s for 3 reps, 4th as a maybe. I’d like to work towards 5 in 60 seconds.
Also did some carries and some tug of war (from more than 6 ft away!!!) then a bike ride (longer than I’m used to, lot of quad cramping 🤢) where we found @always_on_the_run1334 . He RAN and kept up with us on the bikes for about TWELVE MILES. Dude is something else.
Body is broken, soul is healed.
Punk jams and @homeboysandman helped things feel lighter.
Worked the 310lbs sand bag for distance, which ended up being 180feet to double my PR. One way was measured to be 60 feet, so just getting comfortable with it. Just have to work a faster pick and maybe a bit faster foot speed so I can fit more distance in the time.
Showing some axel push press/jerk? got 290lbs for a solid single, and tried 305lbs but couldn’t stabilize it. It would have been a PR on an axel overhead, but I can’t really count it, next time. As the very concerned Sully said “it’s ok.”

I have been working on some minimalist training for a while. 1-3 exercises, extremely high reps with a higher effort has been the norm. Everyday. No rest days. No bad days.

How to OHP‼️👇
The overhead press is not the easiest exercise and it actually requires quite much technique.
But when you get it right you’ll realize it’s so much more than just a “shoulder exercise”, it also engages your core/triceps strength!
There are actually a lot of things to go over with this exercise that you might want to look at (I have a FULL YouTube video that covers everything you need to know)
But some simple factors that could make a huge impact on your performance is to first chest up and tuck your elbow INWARD to your body and let them flare out naturally on the way up!
If you look at the video you can see that my elbows are pointed forward and not to the side...it’s not bench bench-press 🙃
And the most important thing...flex your booty! Literally imagine someone is trying to stick a finger to your butt. Now you understand :) FLEX !
When you do so, your automatically forcing your back to not ARCH! Which will help you to avoid injuries.
So to sum it up:
1. Tuck your elbows.
2. Breathe in and chest up.
3. Flex your butt and core.
4. Press up in a straight line.

Me at age 22...I actually have no idea how old I was here (my cousin posted this yesterday) but this is a prime example of why I always wear hats.
Yes, I do have hair. But it looks like this when it’s long and it looks like a jack Russell terrier‘s hair when it is short.
Also, I cut it myself and have very shaky hands...
Hence, the hats.
605x2 Deficit deadlift but the best part of the entire thing is that if you look at my left hand, when I grab the barbell I thought I stuck my finger in my shoelace loop.... I figured this was not conducive to picking the weights up, so I just left my index finger kind of off the bar. -
For whatever reason, my brain refused to put my finger back on it even though I was continually telling my hand to close... i’m honestly and happily surprised that I held onto it.

285kg.avi - (Werbung) - A double with competition weight of the cancelled fibo pro league cup. It would be 10 days out and I know I had 2 more in me.. So around 5 would have been there on meet day. It's nothing to write home about but my deadlift has suffered the most due to the operation of my appendix (and 3 holes through the muscle).
It finally feels like I can engage my core a bit better.
I don't know if there will be any competitions this year, but I will take it slow anyway, train and build a foundation.
