Every year when we pull out the ornaments to the tree this one reminds me most of what we all need to do.
The idea that we need to believe in something all the time. This one ornament for some reason give me hope that there are better days to come. It is something that I wish for everyone in the next decade.
I hope 2020 is a year that moves you forward. #believe#holiday#focus#reason#ornament

I got Aaron a special #merman barista #ornament for his Starbucks tree. Do you the resemblance? They are both adorable in my book!
Been organizing my products tonight. I have some stock if anyone is looking for anything.
Some great stocking stuffers🎄 *thieves cleaner sample pack and spray bottle *thieves cleaner (concentrated bottle)
*christmas spirit foaming hand soap
*desert mist diffuser *air freshener with Christmas spirit
*yl glass ornament
*hand sanitizer *quite a bit of oils
Let me tell you the story of my favorite Christmas ornament.
Growing up JewishI adored the shiny, matching ornaments of store trees, twinkling with the glow of the holidays. This one was all silver! That one was all gold! I assumes anyone and everyone would decorate their tree like this. These trees told the story of the holiday, they defined the season, they were simply perfect.
And then I met and married a Catholic man and I got to get a tree of my own. Oh, how I dreamed of those perfect trees! I couldn’t wait to decorate ours, perfect and matching.
I went to his family’s home and to my horror, they pulled out boxes upon boxes of mismatched trinkets. All these years they could have the perfect tree — didn’t they know?!? — and all these years they chose this.
But then, as they pulled each #ornament out of the decades old boxes and unwrapped the tattered tissue paper, they talked about the origins of the piece, the trip where it was purchased, the long lost loved one who gifted it or even made it by hand.
And I fell in love.
It’s been over 20 years and over 20 trees since, and I am proud that each year our ornament collection gets more eclectic, writing the #history of our lives. There are first baby ornaments, preschool craft ornaments, vacation ornaments we painstaking selected together. And there are also ornaments that were gifted in the early days of our #marriage , dispensed in corporate gift bags (like this one which we filled with a random photo and never replaced), and purchased on major markdown on Dec 26 but which we keep year after year and laugh about how far we’ve come since that first sad Charlie Brown three-ornament tree of our first year of marriage.
These ornaments, the ones we love and the ones that have been demoted to filler, are perfectly imperfect markers on the roadmaps of our lives. They tell our stories. They remind me, every year, that perfection is never as interesting as #authenticity . Because it is in our #imperfections , in the whole of our motley #stories , that we are our best and truest selves.
It’s beginning to look a lot like (mismatched) #Christmas , and it’s perfect.
The Christmas tree is up for the first time in five years and I couldn’t be more excited. All the ornaments are on except this one because it’s too heavy for our cheap tree!!! 😂 But it’s the most special one we’ve got (thanks to a thoughtful gift from @kilo_alpha7). Last year was the first Christmas I got to spend with my brother, Michael, in 8 years because he was incarcerated. I am grateful that he is home safely and hopefully we’ll have many more to spend with each other. Love and hug your family. You never know when you might not get the chance to for whatever reason. Whatever you believe in, whatever you celebrate, all the love to you and your family this holiday season. ❤️

I made clay friends. Ornaments/little desk sculptures. Limited amount up on the shop by midnight. 💀
Getting in the Christmas spirt! Today was spent crafting these little goat ornaments/ gift tags. They turned out so cute that I might fill the whole tree with them!
The goats also got their first batch of Christmas cookie this evening. Check my story to see how Buttercup liked them.

Janet and her friend Lauren picked out a Christmas tree from the usual place, and we've set it up in the living room. The smell is wonderful. Trying out white lights this year, and I'm not sure I like them better than the colored ones. Classier, but also less festive. Hmm.
