Steam or steamed heat was a product of the Industrial Revolution in 18th century England. Inventor James Watt was one of the first to install a residential system. The innovation came to the United States in the 19th century, its popularity propelled by the development of the radiator. Grand hotels touted steamed heat on a par with other luxuries such as gas lighting and elevators. By the 1940s, roadside motels were offering travelers steamed heat and other cozy comforts such as hot water and carpeting. Advertising “steamed heat,” the Chief Hotel Court (sign circa 1940) promised winter visitors to Las Vegas a warm welcome on chilly desert nights.
😯 Are you curious about tickets for "Lost Vegas: Tim Burton @ The Neon Museum"? We thought so. Learn more about The Neon Museum campus and the types of tickets we're offering for this exciting exhibit:
✌️ The Neon Museum campus includes two outdoor exhibition spaces: The Neon Boneyard Main Collection and the Neon Boneyard North Gallery. The Main Collection houses more than 200 signs and is where most tours at The Neon Museum take place. The North Gallery houses additional rescued signs and plays host to “Brilliant!,” The Museum’s multimedia show created by artist Craig Winslow.
🖇 During “Lost Vegas”, Tim Burton’s artwork will be integrated with the signs currently in the Main Collection. The Tim Burton General Admission ticket allows for an hour-long experience in this space.
🔮 The Tim Burton Brilliant! ticket is a 25-minute experience in the North Gallery using light projection, music and historic Las Vegas footage to transport guests into the Vegas of yesteryear...with a Tim Burton twist!
🗝 The Neon Boneyard Park across from the La Concha Visitors' Center will hold even more Tim Burton art pieces. Either a General Admission or Brilliant! ticket will be required to access the Boneyard Park.
✨ If you want the full "Lost Vegas" experience, reserving both a Tim Burton General Admission and Tim Burton Brilliant ticket is essential! ✨ However, a combo ticket will not be offered so you will need to book each ticket separately. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🗓 "Lost Vegas" will be fully featured at The Neon Museum. As such, we will not be offering any other type of tour during the exhibit's run, October 15, 2019 through February 15, 2020.
