Another shot from a trip to Wingmasters Rehab. I think this is my absolute favorite. It was an opportunity to get some of these shots and to be able to look so closely st them. I love how the design of some of this owls feathers remind me of crystalized snowflakes or how the barred owls face looks like the feathers are braided. As I look at the screen, though, I realize that I didn't earn this opportunity. I didn't find them or track them in the woods. I'm missing the invigoration of seeing them in their natural habitat. Do I appreciate the shots? Absolutely yes. Did I earn the shots? Absolutely no... #greathornedowl#owl#owls#owlsofinstagram#wildlifephotography#wildlife#audobonsociety#massaudubon#nationalaudubonsociety#raptor#raptors
A new feathery friend to join the aviary. This long eared owl was an absolute pleasure the draw from beginning to end, I’ve loved building up all his feathers and adding depth to those eyes...
This chap is available through my website along with the remaining baubles.
If you like the look of him make sure whoever’s buying your Christmas presents is aware 😉
Recording arts students experimenting with sound and background noise. These two plan on getting jobs in the film or music industry once graduated. For those interested in a career in the music industry, stop by the Haugh Performing Arts Center tomorrow at 2:40 p.m. to participate in a workshop with recording artists Joe Henry, Sam Phillips, Eric Gorfain, and author Tom DeSavia. After sharing their stories, the event will open up to a Q&A session where you could ask the artists anything you want! Only at #ourcitrus . 😊🦉🎧🎤🎹

Little and big ones have been grabbing this classic to read over and over.
Today, a little table with owls, natural materials, playdough and tools was set up to recreate the story. We made owl noises, looked closely at the ornaments, explored the textures and combined media together.
The littles were so engrossed and was lovely seeing how they interacted with the resources.
Maybe a visit to an owl sanctuary soon. Watch the space 🦉 #childminding#childled#owlbabies#earlyyears#nature#owls#stories
Our friend and local photographer Joe Subolesky captured this wonderful shot of a red phase Eastern Screech Owl hiding in a tree cavity in Harford County, Maryland! The photo serves as a great reminder that the cold seasons are a perfect time to find wildlife that is more obscured by leaves and vegetation during the spring and summer. It also shows that with the proper equipment, wildlife can be viewed at a safe distance without disturbing it as was done here with a large telephoto lens. Keep an eye on those tree cavities and check them often, you never know when that one day you will look up to see that something is staring back at you! #owls#screechowl#wildlife#photography#birding#birds#harfordcounty#suskywildlife#susquehannock
A few images from today, Great to see the Short Eared Owls even at a fair distance. Shame some photographers deemed it appropriate behaviour to chase after them in their cars🧐. Other birds included Brent Geese, an acrobatic juvenile Pied Wagtail and a fairly distant Corn Bunting. #rspb#rspb_love_nature#essexwildlife#iloveowls#owls#ukwildlife

Love those yellow eyes. There were 4 Great Grays in about a square kilometre area escaping the far north harsh winter likely to find a more abundant food supply. They stayed for about 6 weeks before returning home . I was fortunate to have a few close up encounters . #owls#Great Gray Owls.
