Ochre sea stars - this one happens to be purple- are doing better this summer. They have overcome their own pandemic a few years back. But their habitats are fragile, this sea star is hanging out near a train track that moves fracked gas products and coal to be processed. The sound can feel deafening in stark contrasts to subtle sounds of sea life as the ocean tides pull out on a summer day. That track emits pollution but it also blocks the ebb and flow of nutrients from trees to and from the sea and prohibits streams from providing habitats for salmon. Scientist Enric Sala has called upon the world to set aside 1/3 of the ocean as protected wilderness areas to resist climate change. The ocean will clean itself if and only if we allow her to work on her own way. #savetheseastars by using less plastic, promoting protected wilderness areas and not wearing sunscreen with oxbenzone or oxtinoxate into the ocean. Obviously there is so much more and that includes loving and worshipping the ocean. Tunein to her rhythms - there clear - in and out every day with many subtle melodies.
"Too many people live their lives without intentionality or thought. They rarely find a quiet moment to sit in meditation or solitude and examine their life - who they are and who they are becoming." - Joshua Becker
BEACH DAY 🥰✨☀️
I’m not actually at the beach, but I’m going to pretend I am 😂 I’m also not hiking because naturally now that it’s the weekend the weather is dreadful, but that’s okay! We’re making some homemade pizza and we’re going to try and re-create a wood-fired brick oven type bake. Fingers crossed because that’s the best pizza 🤤
A few fun fact about me since I have a couple new followers:
✨ I was born in California, and I think it’s in my blood to love the ocean and sunshine
✨ As a kid, I was lucky enough to have the best parents and sister - we went on a lot of road trips around the USA and Europe, as we lived in Sicily too! They are truly three of my best friends.
✨ I used to run Outdoor Program’s, which led me to move out to Utah and fall in love with the State, and why I’m a big supporter of being outdoors (safely + environmentally friendly!)
✨ I met my husband in England (he’s from Suffolk), but we live in the States now! He loves cars and the first thing he did was buy an old, V8 BMW 🤣
✨ I love connecting with people, and can be very chatty so please slide into my DM’s or drop us a line - I need friends in my life especially with quarantine 🙈 I always try to respond as quick as I can ☺️
✨ I love to travel, and take photos. I think traveling helps us all learn a lot about ourselves and the world, and gives us a more empathetic view on life so it’s really important to me 💛 Being able to share photos I take along the way is just a bonus
✨ I try really hard to stay positive everyday so I do daily affirmations + @happinessjournal , and share my daily quote 😊️
Today’s quote: “Everybody has a chapter they don’t read out loud.”

Flowers always seem to make for a pretty foreground. I think today was no exception.
