Hello my lovely #featheredfriends . Lockdown is easing now and we’re slowly returning to our new normal.
Yesterday I gave you some tips about bathing/showering your parrots but I have also mentioned what not to do. Blow drying your parrots was one of them. I have received many questions why ...so today I’m going to tell you.
There are a few reasons why you shouldn’t blow dry your parrot.
Firstly it is not good because it would dry our skin which could lead to skin problems and feather plucking.
It is not recommended to blow dry us because it can easily overheat us or even burn us.
It will also damage our feathers the same way it would damage your hair.
It could also interfere with our healthy preening habits.
Some hairdryers have non stick coating that could produce dangerous fumes (same as non stick pan) which can kill us. .
However as mentioned yesterday, bathing us brings a lot of benefits. It is also a fantastic enrichment. Look how much fun this 3 months old baby Ella @tanja_cataleya_andelic have. .
So now you know. Please never blow dry your parrot. Make sure they bath at a time when they have enough time to dry naturally. .
Are you letting your parrot air dry? What do you think are the best times for bathing your parrot? .
