You've waited all year long to light a fire in your fireplace. There's no time like the present to relax in front of a fire. Make sure you and your family are safe by practicing these tips! 🔥Become a Soot-Stopper! To minimize the buildup of soot and creosote (which can cause chimney fires), use seasoned hardwood or manufactured logs, such as Duraflame, that burn even cleaner than real wood.
🔥Burn Only Simple Stuff for Fireplace Safety. Only burn wood or manufactured logs in your fireplace. Items with fancy finishes - like glossy wrapping paper, shiny bows, and foam peanuts - release toxic fumes.
🔥Go For A Slow Burn. Though a roaring fire looks attractive, it's not as safe as a slower, steadier burn. A too-hot fire can crack your chimney. Just a couple of logs at a time, please.
🔥Never Leave a Fire Unattended. For safety's sake, never leave a fire unattended. And yes, this means you shouldn't go to sleep with a fire blazing away.
🔥Clean The Firebox Between Fires. While you'll want to leave chimney cleaning to the pros, undertake minor maintenance yourself: If you burn wood, clean the firebox between fires. Scoop up cool ashes and place them in a metal container.
🔥Have Your Fireplace Chimney And Flue Cleaned At Least Once A Year. If the creosote is allowed to build up in the flue, it can suddenly ignite, causing a dangerous chimney fire.
It's December, a thief's favorite time of year. Your house is empty and filled with fresh new goodies! You need to protect yourself by doing the following: 👉 Keep doors and windows locked 👉 Update your locks 👉 Reinforce doors, windows, locks, and hardware 👉 Use motion-sensing lights inside and out 👉 Be smart about your hide-a-key 👉 Keep your valuables out of sight
Almost everybody loves holiday parties. But drinking and driving can make that festive time deadly for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. That's why the entire month of December is National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month. According to the National Safety Council, over 40,000 people died in alcohol-related traffic accidents last year, so this year, stay safe during the holidays. Make the pledge to stay safe by doing the following:
✅Pledge to remain sober.
✅Pledge to take a cab or use a rideshare to travel.
✅Pledge to rent a limo.
Thanksgiving is behind us and the push to Christmas and Hanukkah has begun. Festive lights are everywhere. Head over to our Facebook page and take a look at some safety tips to keep you and your family safe this holiday season!
Who Needs A Personal Umbrella Policy. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the days preceding Thanksgiving kick off a busy – and dangerous – holiday travel season. In addition to just the sheer volume of cars on the road, speeding, distracted driving and impaired drivers add to the dangers.
A personal umbrella policy increases overall liability coverage with an extra layer of protection beyond what's covered by homeowners and auto insurance policies. A low-cost personal umbrella helps protect your customers and their families in the event of a hefty judgement stemming from a catastrophic lawsuit.
Accident odds will increase dramatically over the next few months. Talk to your customers about how an RLI Personal Umbrella policy can be a true gift to those taking to the roads this holiday season. Request A Quote https://www.fuscoinsuranceagency.com/contact.aspx #personalumbrellainsurance

The sole purpose of the Umbrella is to offer Excess Liability limits following the exhaustion of the underlying Homeowners, Landlords & Auto Insurance policy limits.
In order to qualify for an Umbrella Insurance Policy, there is always a requirement of minimum underlying liability limits from which the Umbrella will begin to offer Excess coverage.
Umbrellas are very inexpensive and most often offer from $1 Million to $5 Million limits in one million increments.
