Apparently, people who use HUMOUR and FUN at work are more productive, less stressed, and happier 🥰
The most common feedback I receive is “we had so much fun.” To me, this is exactly the type of response I’m hoping to receive. My approach to photoshoots and to life in general is to just have fun with it. Don’t take it too seriously. Fun always translates to an environment that people WANT TO BE APART OF. 90% of my couples are awkward in front of a camera, so instead of posing them and just trying to get “the perfect shot” when they’re clearly uncomfortable, id rather just get them laughing, make it a game, be silly and really just make sure they’re having a good time. I’ve never met a couple that I didn’t have a good time with, EVER. It’s not awkward guys.

Naaawwwww girlies!!! 😭⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These beautiful Bridesmaids were so overcome with emotion as Anita walked down the aisle, it was so sweet! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you envision your bride squad to get emotional for you? Tag them below 😘⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because Lauren is awesome and her business is going from strength to strength, she no longer has the time to do the huge amount of work that goes into wedding photography. So she is passing the torch to me (Ryan, Hi 😊) . It's the same team, same. Amazing images, same dorky duo! I will be there on your wedding day, as will Lauren, but all the behind the scenes stuff you do not get to see is all done through me.
Really there is change but in name 🤷♂️ All weddings currently booked is still through @crooked_images, all future weddings will be through me 🥰
Hope every one enjoyed Christmas and New Years, all the best for 2020
Also can we request more dogs at weddings please!

I painted “Doris” last October and had great fun liaising with @anliette of @erthebyanliette to create this drop for the Famous Faces Portrait Event by Erthe. Anliette has kindly shared a couple of photos, both of which I will post but wanted to start with this beautiful portrait. 🙏🏻🤍
When I get requests for beach family sessions I get filled with excitement. I would have to say sunset beach shoots are my happy place 😍 the beach brings kids to life! I find we can capture so many real moments while at the beach. These sessions are all about having fun, playing games, exploring dunes, digging sandcastles and playing in the water. Even amongst all the craziness of a beach shoot there is something always so still and calming about it all when we look back at the pictures💕
Are you a beach person too? I would love to hear of your favourite Perth beaches 😍 Which beach would be your choose? 🌊☀️

Hearing amazing stories like Emma's from 3 Birds on a Branch is truly inspiring. A reminder that, if you do something with passion, you will do it well and be inspired to make it work the best of your ability.
Three Birds on a Branch was founded to capture stories of loved ones, so they don't get lost.
Do you remember what toys you played with when you where little?? Or maybe you know what toys your parents or grandparents had?? Tell me about them...... So I've been collecting old toys, teddies and blankets to use as part of newborn & sitter sessions.............WHY??
Well its all part of telling the story, having a connection with the photos (other than the child in the photo). Toys and teddies that we as parents or even our grand parents played with may have been forgotten. But inducing them in the photos creates that relation of story telling. When you show your child that baby photo of them with that special toy the story is told, that was what grandad gave me when I was your age. Photo's mean more to us when they tell a story and hold special meaning.
Do you know what I LOVE about Instagram? I get to “follow” my clients stories, their journey into motherhood and watch their babies grow! It is so cool! Like this beautiful Mumma! I get so excited when I see little snippets of your adventures and milestones! There are so many things I dislike about social media but I must admit its ability to connect people is pretty cool too!
Another week off coming to an end 👎 but that simply means time to plan next break's adventures with @rr.1986 💙
How amazing are these guys watching them glide through the water is so awsome ❤

welllllll friends, today marks only TWO MONTHS to go & honestly with the amount still left to do I should be fkn FREAKING OUT! 👰🏽 #HoneyGetsHitched2020 ⠀
A list of things we still need to do: ⠀
Dress alterations, organise veil, source accessories, hair trial, Jakes jacket, meetings with @theperthweddingfairy@barefootandboho_ , finish vows, write our speech, practice first dance, ceremony rehearsal⠀
It doesn't seem like much when its down in writing, but the fact that there's only 60 days left, and Jakes away at work for 34 of them, I'm away for 9 PLUS 5 more weddings, leaves us only 18 days we overlap⠀
OH AND HE GETS HOME THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING 😬
inhale. exhale. ⠀
so yeah I guess you could say everything is fine :):):)⠀
I never thought I'd say this but thank the LAWD for my editing pile because its kept me very distracted this whole wedding planning process & kept me from becoming an actual bridezilla (still yet to lose my shit) ⠀
I said from the beginning that I didn't want a lot, I just want a vibe that reflects us, with good food, good music, and all of our friends & family... because really; none of the above actually matters, and I know that but its honestly hard NOT to get caught up in it all (unless your Jake lol) and the anticipation of the day doesn't help the cause either - it's such a build up, you want it to be perfect! ⠀
My life motto is "it'll all work itself out" and it will -the day will be what it's going to be - rain or a heatwave, jacket or no jacket, written speech or winging it, I'm really not going to fight fate, especially when I know it goes like that *snaps fingers* it's going to be here in no time and I'm just SO excited!

QUOTING Michael: "I was thinking that this single image that I took this year is a representation of what the year has been like." Go to @astrophotobear and learn the 6 things Michael learned and concluded about his approach to nightscape photography this year. || Please show support to our guest artists by visiting their IG gallery.
TECHNIQUE & EXIF: Panorama • Canon 6d + Tamron 15-30 @ 30mm + tracking mount • 63 image panorama at F3.2, ISO 5000-6400, 25-30s (last few photos were at shorter shutter and higher ISO). When I started photographing the foreground, the clouds appeared to be distant near the horizon, but they rolled in with incredible speed. Rather doing it in strict row by row, I ended up going a bit squiggly to ensure I captured the MW core before it got engulfed by clouds. The right side was comparatively clearer, so photographed that last.

HOW AND WHY I DECIDED TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER.📸 You might be surprised… or not, but by profession I am a lawyer. In my short law career I even managed to divorce few school friends and get my own husband out of jail with a minimum (drink driving a motorbike! not anymore :D) . So yeah, fun times! And anyone who knows me well will tell you how passionate I am about law.
So what am I doing with a camera in my hand?
Well things changed 180 degrees when my son was born. I realised I want so much more time with my family than what I can get by following a career of a highly successful lawyer. So this was a deal breaker for me.
But this was only the first step to discovering a lot of new things about myself.
Besides that I wanted to create the kind of life where I have enough freedom with my time, I also realised that I am a highly creative person who needs to pave her own road and not follow the traditional career path.
I looked into all the other passions I had and turned to photography as the biggest one. I always loved photography, I knew I have the eye for it, but to be honest I never tried to do it, I didn’t even know how to use a professional camera.
I did the scariest thing, with a 6 months old baby in my lap I started the hard work of building a business in a city where I’m just a newbie with no contacts. But it doesn’t end there, I invested all our life savings into this new business. I risked it all.
For the next 6 months I was learning day and night, about camera, lighting, posing, business, marketing, advertising, bookkeeping, networking, and lot of other things. I was able to this from the comfort of my own home while my baby was sleeping ( luckily he slept few naps in a day. But not at night ;) )
Now more than a year in this business I can say it payed off. I returned all the investment, I made a perfect balance between family and my business and I love what I do! But I am only starting, there is a big road of opportunities ahead, and my vision for my future is as big as the Indian Ocean.
You are responsible for your life path. Take a risk, nothing ever happens in comfort zone. Your best life is on the other side of your fear!
