A message to local #northumberlandcounty entrepreneurs.
What I inherently know is that society has wrongly trained us to believe that there is only one path to success in business, and that is to be fearful of competition. But let me tell you the #truth : Competition is healthy. And competition can be beautiful.

Vertical siding has been on the rise in recent years & we can certainly see why! This trend gives a modern touch to any home, taking your home from normal to contemporary all with a flip of the siding.
We were asked by the police to leave the park in my hometown of #peterborough so we went and knocked on the door of a nearby church and asked forgiveness and if we could park our studio in their parking lot. They of course said “of course” This is how it goes. The only other time we were asked to move along was by a shopkeeper in China who insisted we pay him. It’s funny how things work out. In Mexico the only person who hassled us was a young backpacker from Edmonton who insisted we must be making lots of money exploiting the locals. When I explained the project and told her the project is mostly self funded, no OAC grants no taxpayers money, she toned it down and asked if I could photograph her. So it goes.
When our book club meet starts with one member telling the rest how she read the book in 24 hours and basically ignored her children - it’s simply a reflection of how seriously good this read was for her and the rest of the group. .
We followed the heartbreaking story of Amal who was born into a Palestinian refugee camp and knows no other life throughout her childhood. We felt every word the author shared, imagining these lives with our hearts pouring out for them. We felt helpless, angry and sad all at the same time. .
This book required more than just empathy from us, it wanted our attention, our prayers, an awakening for a cause that has been ongoing for over six decades now. .
#MorningsInJenin - So many declared this has been our best read to date - only possible because of the raw, true and unapologetic tone of the author. How beautifully told and expressed - Amal and her family and #Palestine will live within our hearts forever. .
