Summer’s around the corner and just like our pets, no – we’re not looking forward to it! However, this also means getting a lot of pool time and picnics at some neighbouring streams. But before we embark, here are some thoughts we might want to consider when planning whether or not to take our doggo with us. 🌤️🐶🐕🐾
Meet little auggy... His pet parents are doing a fantastic job at introducing him to strangers. He used to bark at people entering the room because he was unsure about how evil they were...
Things are much better now as we taught him that not all humans are evil.
Social grooming in animals reinforces bond and social structures.
Yeah right! Now when I look back, we have always groomed Blue @happiness_named_blue , combed through his silky long locks of golden white, clipped his nails, got his ears cleaned at the vet. But he has never done that for us! 🤔
So all the while, he was just ensuring the social hierarchy remains, he as the boss of the house and we as the bonded human slaves 🤷♀️😂.
But on a more serious note, it is very important to ensure your dog is groomed at regular intervals based on the breed requirements. Daily combing suffices for most indoor dogs. Nail clipping and ear cleaning is a regular must. Better to get it done at a Vet’s or by a professional groomer.
Switch to natural home made products like @scoobydubdub for bathing. It reduces shedding and keeps the coat clean for longer. Trust me, I have used it. On Blue duh!
Like I say clean dogs have happy moms and dads! 😍😂

Today is my Gotcha Day! This pic was taken on my very first day in my forever home (and before my pawrents learned to take good IG pics 🙄) They've been obsessed with me ever since! Happy almost-weekend! 🐶❤️ #tbt
When I started blogging about dogs, I thought the purpose of a blog was to educate others. Over the years, I've learned that the reason I blog is to learn, share, and grow (copying from @thetwocrazycatladies).
It's about networking, making friends and strong connections, and learning how to raise healthier, happier pets.
Today, I continue my path to being the best dog mom EVA by signing up for the All Access Pass by @petfooled. Kohl Harrington blew everyone's mind several years ago when he released Pet Fooled. But he didn't stop there - he's continued being a voice for pet parents as he searched for the truth about pet food ingredients, raw food recalls, and more.
He's been kicked out of Global for asking questions, sat on the opposite side of aggressive government officials, and he's encouraged raw food brands to be more transparent.
And now he's created this wonderful educational opportunity for Pet Parents with Pet Schooled.A one-year, all access pass is $95 (or $9/month). I checked out the courses and I'm excited to learn about topics that are of interest to me and are taught by knowledgeable pet professionals.
Head over to the @PetFooled page to check it out this wonderful opportunity.

FACT: Dog poo is gross. 💩
But as dog owners we have to accept our responsibility to clean up after our four legged friends. And most if us do it dutifully. Unfortunately however there are some who let the side down and fail to pick up after their dog.
Read why I installed a doggy poo bag dispenser in my local playing field and how you can make one to help keep your community clean in my latest blog - Holy Shih-tzu! (Link in bio)
I may not know all the answers in rounds ⠀
I may not construct the perfect list of differential diagnosis on the spot ⠀
I may struggle to read bloodwork perfectly the first time ⠀
I may suck at taking tests ⠀
I may always feel like the weakest link in my class (when it comes to academics)⠀
I may always feel like the underdog ⠀
But I am the one who will always go above and beyond for my patients and those around me⠀
I am the one who will go across the hospital to the laundry room just to find the most comfy blanket to make my patient feel more comfortable while they adjust to an unknown place ⠀
I am the one who will call worried owners as many times as I can throughout the day to ease their minds while their pet is being treated ⠀
I am the one who will obsessively organize a patients medications so the owner can administer them easier ⠀
I am the one who will sit by a patient’s kennel during my down time to keep them company⠀
I am the one who will stay after hours to cut out heart shapes for my patients bandage because I know there is a family worried and eager to bring their pet back home ⠀
I am the one who will come in early and stay late just to make sure my patients and blockmates are always taken care of ⠀
I may not be your “academically strong” student but I am a hardworking, reliable, resilient and caring student. There are some things that take more time to learn and then there are some things that can never be learned. Be proud of YOUR character at the end of the day, because that can’t be taught in school❤️ ⠀

MI👏CRO👏CHIP YA PETS!
Another PSA as more and more missing pets are coming to the animal clinic and NOT MICROCHIPPED or the chip is not registered which is basically like not having a chip because NO CONTACT INFORMATION.
"my cat is an indoor cat" or "oh we live in a building, my dog can't go far". You never know, it could happen. Since it's getting cold out, we of course would like lost pets to get home asap. No it's not a gps but it still helps especially since collars and tags can fall off. Please have updated info; if you get a new number or move. All these things can be done ONLINE. There are affordable options as in chip trucks which are mobile and do it quickly and cheap and also animal shelters. A microchip stays with your pet for their whole life time and "hurts" them only once, just like getting a vaccine. So why not? For ease of mind and preparation.
