The last of the troops...nobody told me, but the theme of the week was FIRE. Truly bad fire three houses down, I became aware of it around 8PM, I really had never seen so many fire trucks at once!! Finally under control around 2AM, at least six hours of battling this beast!! Yes, heroes!! We were evacuated around 9P.M and I can't say enough about the kindness and support of the Philadelphia Police, Allied Security, and Philadelphia Fire Department!! Sometimes I have mixed feelings about police, but I have nothing but good to say about those that helped us tonight!!! Thank you to all involved!! #philadelphiapolice#ppd #philadelphiafiredepartment#pfd #alliedsecurity

‼️ 50 Guns, 8 Grenades, 1,000 Rounds of Ammo Found in Philly Man's Home, Police Say
Police first received a report of a suicidal man shortly before 4:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the home they were met by family members of the 72-year-old homeowner. They told police the man was suicidal and had several loaded weapons inside the house, investigators said.
💬 “We found guns, or at least a gun, in every single room in the house,” Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. “Some are hidden under furniture. Some are in drawers. Some are in cabinets. Many of them are in closets. Many were in the basement. This was really unusual.”

#philadelphiapolice why are men like this .. who have obvious personality disorders able to pass the psychiatric evaluation and become police officers in the fine city of Philadelphia? What I just watched was reminiscent of a group of high school bullies intimidating a fellow student but unfortunately these bullies were empowered with a badge .. to bully someone who was not committing a crime ... When people across the country see 6 officers murdered and can find no empathy for them .. it is men and women like this and their unprofessional immature behavior.... #ftp#mauricehill#jadedemperor#antisocial

Reposted from @papd911, Philadelphia police officers running toward the danger. Six Philly cops shot but, thanks to their courage and dedication, no civilians were injured.
As a frequent visitor and a business owner in Philadelphia, I have the utmost respect for those men and women in Blue.
I remember a couple of years ago observing a protest around the streets of City Hall, while marchers exercised their freedom of speech, chanting and carrying signs saying "F+$& the Police." Do you know who was walking along beside them, to protect them, and keep the peace?
Last winter, when we worriedly searched for our child who had vanished, the Police jumped right into action to search with us, and understandingly comforted our distraught child who was also panicking and frightened.
Those are just two of countless stories that could be shared of heroism, aid, protection and service.
For those who walk the thin Blue Line, in reality, or with their hearts on that line,THANK YOU.

The Port Authority Police Benevolent Association stands in honor of the Philadelphia Police Department as it protected Philadelphia from a crazed, determined gunman. Others before self, for all to see. Thank you Philly PD. #philadelphia#philly#philadelphiapolice#PAPDPROTECTSNYNJ#PAPD#PAPBA

IG Family, I humbly come to you and ask you drop a 🌹 for my little cousin KiKi. Someone Shot & Killed her today for nothing. She is 23 & has been an honor student her whole life. She was just about to graduate from college with honors next month. Her family is very close & devastated.
If you have any information on who killed her. Please say something. This happened in West Philadelphia this afternoon.
If this was your daughter/Sister/Cousin/friend
You would want the same thing. Nobody deserves this to happen to them.
May GOD be with her family & all who loves humanity 🙏 #theqonfox#philadelphiapolice#ppd @alexholleytv@vanjones68@donlemoncnn@arimelber@cthagod@boomphilly

Officer J. Castro of the Philadelphia Police describes the ambush attack that nearly killed one of his partners a few nights ago.
Last night, you were stopped at the red light at 60th and Spruce. You were working solo, probably bored out of your mind because it was a quiet night. As the light turned green, you proceeded through the intersection. What you didn't see was a man approaching your driver side window with a fully loaded handgun by his side. Without warning or provocation, he raised his weapon and began firing into your vehicle. Shot after shot, bullets ripped through the driver side door. Relentlessly, he continued his assault and started to make his way closer: 9 feet. 6 feet. 3 feet. Until finally his pistol was inside the driver side window of your vehicle. He continued to squeeze off rounds at point blank range. I know this because I watched the surveillance video showing his assassination attempt. You ducked your head down at just the right moment that rounds actually missed your head by inches. 3 bullets tore into your arm, shattering the bone and severing an artery. Without hesitation, you fought your attacker almost instantly. You drew your service weapon and viciously returned fire. It was literally a fight for life and death. Your shots were fierce and accurate enough that he retreated. He was wounded but continued to fire as he fled. You exited your car and attempted to pursue this coward, but your gunshot wounds were too much. The blood poured out of your arm like a faucet and into the street. You hit the microphone on your radio "SHOTS FIRED! SHOTS FIRED! I'm shot, give me more units. 60th and Spruce. I'm bleeding profusely!" Every cop in the city and surrounding counties responded. I was only 2 minutes away, but it felt like it took me an hour. We almost crashed 3 separate times trying to get to you. Other officers (who are in my squad and that I'm damn proud of) chased after the shooter and caught him a block away, the smoking pistol still in his possession. 2 officers threw you in their car and rushed you to Presbyterian hospital where their trauma unit and surgeons worked through the night to stop the bleeding.
