Hey @thetodayshow let’s not pretend for even one second you didn’t know Pauline Hanson was going to come on your show and spew racist garbage as per usual. She should have never had a platform to begin with 🤡

Guten Morgen ☀️
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” - Romans 5:3-5
This piece was created completely in ProCreate. I created the canvas using the beautiful watercolor paper stamp by @signsandwondersbypatti. I created the background wash colors using the watercolor illustration brush and a color palette by @everytuesday. I added a stamp that I created on the background and used a lettering brush that I also created.
This piece is my submission for the #romanslettering challenge with @steadfast.lettering and @handsxpens

I’ve been looking back through older work, as you might have noticed in some of my recent posts. I feel the need to do this every once in a while to reflect and to see what pieces were successful and why. This is one of my favorite pieces from early 2019, and it’s far from perfect, but I still really like it. I am also in love with art nouveau Letterforms! Anyone else? Anyway, I gave this piece a new color palette and cleaned it up a bit just for fun. What do you think? I’m working on the new Apothecary piece and a collaboration piece soon to come! Hope you are having a great week! ☀️💗
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 📢📢📢📢📢 ⠀
Getting called out hurts, but remember: it’s not an attack on you as a person but an opportunity for you to do better next time. ⠀
Some quicks tips for how to move forward and continue working towards being an ally: ⠀
📚 EDUCATE. Read and watch and listen to Black voices to learn your history and better understand various perspectives and life experiences other than your own. (I’m currently binging the podcast 1619 and reading A Blade So Black by L.L. McKinney) ⠀
👂🏻 LISTEN more than you speak. I come from an Irish-American family with 3 older sisters. Talking straight over you is a specialty of mine. When Black people talk to you about their experiences and how they want you to show up as an ally, don’t act like you’re trying to tell your better story over 3 increasingly loud voices. Just listen. This isn’t about you. ⠀
💖 Follow, amplify, and PAY Black womxn. Don’t expect all those activists you decided to follow a few weeks ago to spoon feed you your education for free. ⠀
✔️ MAKE AN EFFORT to dismantle your own racial biases. ⠀
🙋🏻♀️ TAKE ACTION. Allyship isn’t empathy. It doesn’t end with a book you read or a few posts you did. Donate, sign petitions, speak up against injustice (even when it seems hard), and for gods sake VOTE VOTE VOTE!

TIME TO DE-STRESS💗 (bookmark this!)
This gal used to be TERRIBLE at handling stress. I tried things like breathing exercises to help. Don’t get me wrong: It was helpful! But if we want more than temporary stress relief — if we want true healing, we need our Great Physician👇🏼
One of the beauties of God, our Great Physician, is that He provides stability. And stress has a nasty way of making us feel unstable and burdened✖️
In a world that often praises stress as busyness, God has called us higher. The remedy is to set the Lord directly in front of us (Psalm 16:8)💡 To constantly have Him in focus, seeing the world and our circumstances through His truth☝🏼
Debunk stress and choose to put Him at your right hand, like Psalm 16 says. When the Bible mentions God’s right hand, it refers to one of the closest places. We must constantly, moment by moment, keep our focus on Him, His Word and promises. It promises nothing but stability and peace.✨
Intentionally set your eyes on Him and remind yourself that you’ll never be unstable because HE is stable. Even if the world crumbles🏔
Remind yourself of God’s promises and character by reading the Bible DAILY. Then when stress comes, you have God in sight and focus as His promises recenter you🙌🏼
So relax and unclench your jaw, sis. Leave the rest and best to God. Honor Him, put stress behind you and Him before you. Trust He will use our faithful efforts and His power to accomplish His plans. Release and relax in His love.💗
COMMENT👉🏼 how are YOU? How are your stress levels? Lets rest assured in Him together!😌

COUNT ON THIS💕 (bookmark me!)
I’ve always struggled with change.🙃 And the last few months have brought it in all shapes and sizes. We’ve seen it flood the world and our own lives.
When things change, uncertainty and anxiety rear their ugly heads. Change pushes us from the familiar into the unknown. But God has reminded me of this…👇🏼
Our Sweet Father does NOT change, even when everything else does.💡🙌🏼 What does this mean though? Does it mean God is “stale” since He’s the same?!
Here’s the good news: God tells us in His Word that He’s the same — yesterday, today & forever (Heb. 13:8). This doesn’t mean He’s “old news.” His unchanging nature proves He’s eternally trustworthy!🙌🏼 Knowing He’s never changed in any promise or quality breeds confidence in a steady God.
Because His love and character never changes, we can be secure. His love never fails, no matter WHAT because that’s who He is. We can thrive in His plan because His goodness, faithfulness and grace are in overflowing supply (Psa. 136:26)💗
Because God’s Word never changes, we can trust and believe it 24/7. Some say it’s been around for so long it’s outdated. But the Word is God Himself and it holds life and truth for us forever. He’s still working in it. We can count on this daily (Isa. 40:8)📖
So walk confidently amidst change, because we serve One who never changes. Who always keeps His promises, loves us and works for His kiddos’ good. If we’ve truly accepted Jesus, nothing can snatch us from Him. That gives boldness to take every day in hope. Rely on the Spirit to help you believe this. In Him, it’s reality and it’s time to live in it💥
📢 REPOST to your story & let’s spread hope together! Love ya + lets chat!💗👇🏼

The biases we’re taught stay with us throughout our lives. We spend most of our lives learning formally — 12+ years of schooling, then higher education, then even more in our fields and professions. We never formally “unlearn”, or even learn about what exactly unlearning is. Unlearning is to edit or refine what you’ve learned when presented with new information. This is applicable to businesses that recognize their need for “fresh, young minds” to improve their processes, unlearning racial and social biases that you were exposed to as a child, schools that unlearn and relearn traditional education to offer online schooling through a pandemic… Unlearning is necessary to move forward and adapt to future challenges. Unlearning is the key to understanding where other people come from, to disregard the fear of the unknown, to make way for new habits when you recognize old ones just aren’t working anymore.
Take steps to unlearn your explicit and implicit biases regarding culture, race, sex and sexual orientation, gender expression, religion, and all other intersections! Think about why you feel the way you do, is it coming from a place of judgement? Fear? What your parents/culture taught you was right or wrong? Then, take steps to relearn; specifically relearning from those who have experienced discrimination first-hand.
There will always be resources for those who recognize their biases and want to improve themselves as better people, better allies, parents, neighbors, coworkers, etc. The first step is recognizing that there is an issue and you want to work towards a better and more inclusive future.
