“Eat That Frog” by Trian Tracy is a highly referenced book on the topics of procrastination and productivity. The book became famous for its main concept that the best way to boost your productivity is to deal with your most difficult task, the one that you are most likely to procrastinate on, your „ugliest frog” first thing. By taking the most difficult task out of the picture early on, you get rewarded with a feeling of accomplishment, a relief and a motivation that you can deal with anything else coming your way during the rest of the day.
My key takeaways from the book were:
👉 When you deal with a number of tasks, in order to increase your overall productivity, you need to identify, prioritize and do your most difficult task first.
👉 You need to continuouly evaluate and prioritize your incoming tasks.
👉 Clear goal setting and planning is essential and should be written down before you start taking action.
👉 Break down big tasks in smaller subtasks so by doing one smaller subtask at a time you manage to do a part of the big task without feeling overwhelmed.
Strong points 👍
✔ Easy to read and to the point
✔ Outlines a significant number of great productivity tips
✔ It has been an inspiration for many other productivity books
Weak points 👎
🔻 Most of the productivity tips in the book are analyzed in a rather minimal manner
🔻 It lacks detailed instructions in following up the action steps that it suggests
🔻 The version of the book that I have doesn’t include any references

Productivity Tip 6: Learn how to manage your distractions⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did you know, 3 out of 4 people feel distracted at work (according to a Udemy survey)? But with a greater push towards more open work spaces and collaborative work environments, nobody really talks about how distractions affect their productivity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And you can be distracted if you work from home too. Think about all the small things that eat into your productive time: family and friends (while it doesn’t seem fair to call them distractions, your pals and fam can sometimes make undue demands on your time, especially if you work from home), chores around the house, emails and texts, the Amazon delivery guy, you know the works.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Life is a game so why not accept the challenge and make the most fun out of it as you can?
Games have levels
Levels have obstacles
And those obstacles usually have that big bad boss that keeps getting in your way before you can get to the next level
But attempt after attempt, you learn how to trick that boss and smash that shiz.
For the past couple of years I've found that I've been working hard but not smart. And as a result I've put work before fun, friends and family. That's gonna get me nowhere in the long run. So 2020 is gonna be about playing hard THEN working hard. .
TELL ME: What boss are you aiming to get past in 2020? Pop a comment below or send me a DM 💓

BEING YOURSELF LEADS TO STAGNATION😣
I know people are gonna text me telling that they think BE YOURSELF is a great advice because most people think so.🤷
Ask them and you'll realize that they don't really know what they actually mean by BE YOURSELF.I know since I asked a lot of them.🤔
Here's the truth,on a basic level, who you think you are is just a compilation of some ideas and and habits that people around you have put in.None of it are yours.💯
😁GOOD NEWS: You can change who you are to help you to achieve your goals.
😭BAD NEWS: If you don't know this and you don't have the best ideas and habits, you can't change who you are to achieve your goals and have to LEAVE SUCCESS TO CHANCE.

Are you the resolution-making type? I can honestly say I am not. I am, however, a goal-maker! This year I’m dreaming big and setting myself up to grow my VA biz into an agency. You heard it here first, friends! And now I have a whole community to keep me accountable and cheer me on! What’s your biggest goal for 2020? I want to cheer you on too!
Productivity Tip 5: Get the most difficult task off your table first part of your day.
Think about how good you’ll feel once you get that task you’ve been pushing around forever off your plate.I mean really – close your eyes and envision how the rest of your day will open up. You’ll no longer have that lump in your throat or the overwhelming guilt that feeds your procrastination.

What are your goals? 🌱 What’s stopping you from achieving them?
𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆:
1. Take out a piece of paper, and make your Eisenhower box.
Be honest. If you can, write approximate times for each item.
2. Look at the Decide section.
Are you spending enough time here?
What can you remove from your life to make room for tasks important to you?
3. Think of 1 thing you can do today that can bring you a little closer to your goals. Write it down and put it somewhere you can see.
4. Do this every day, until you can manage to do a bit more! Aim for at least 1 hour.
Remember: Even just an hour a day makes a huge difference. Just remember to plan, and put in the work 👊
Another productivity // mental health comic next week! 💨🐌
I see you, sister. Writing down those big, audacious goals.
What an amazing first step. But that's all it is right now- the first step.
Having those big dreams of wanting to make six figures and beyond is great, but the goal is not the most important piece. You have to have a road map to get there.
Here's the deal, you help people all day long create their own road map, but you have to do the same thing. The other big thing?
You have to be willing to let people help you.
It is not sustainable to work yourself into the ground. Why are you still repurposing your own content? Why are you creating the graphics for your posts? Why are you spending hours on end trying to figure out the best system to get things done?
Honestly, if I was betting, I'd say it's because you don't think anyone can do it as well as you can. Honestly? You're probably right, but you need to decide if those big audacious goals you've set for yourself are more important than the graphic you're being nit-picky about.
You want to reach those goals?
1. create systems (today's the last day you can snag a systems strategy call!)
2. outsource the tasks that aren't moving the needle forward
3. spend time with the people who matter
It doesn't take much more than that. What is your big goal for 2020? Drop it below!

Girls just wanna have funds🥂...Step 3️⃣to making your time & money work for you in 2020:
Create PASSIVE/RESIDUAL income: 💵 that you earn in a way that requires little to no daily effort to maintain—or pays you over & over again.
Wouldn’t it be cool if you were working your regular job...making your regular money...& while you were doing that you had something else making money for you in the background? THAT is exactly what passive/residual income does!
Creating a cash flow like this not only builds your wealth over time, but it also creates a FABULOUS back up plan to your current Plan A...because you never know what can happen am I right??
My two favorite options for a residual income side hustle:
1️⃣If you have a large amount of Cash you can invest: Rental Property. Investing in owning Rentals is a fabulous tool to bring in cash while you’re doing other things.
2️⃣If you have less cash to invest & want instant income plus residual income: Consider starting a home based business which sells a consumable product. Consumable products means you have repeat clients rather than constantly scrambling to find new clients.
I am SO thankful I added in my side hustle by partnering with a skin care company back in my 20s. That choice exponentially paid my family over & over again.
The 💵 benefits have blown my mind:
⚡️Ability to choose my income level
⚡️Having 🚫 Car payment with insurance/taxes covered saving our family THOUSANDS every year
⚡️Accelerated debt reduction
⚡️Free vacations covered by the company
⚡️6 figure+ income as a work from home momma
⚡️Choose a schedule that I want to work rather than HAVE TO work.
The best part...all I did was follow the simple, proven system. No talent required!🙌🏼 Plus you get to be apart the most positive, uplifting & FUN Girl Tribe around!
Ok! Post below and tag a friend if this 3 step up your money game series was helpful for you!!

On the third day of Cleaning, my Moppette gave to me, 3 cleaning tips, two desk hacks and one productivity quote 🎶
These cleaning tips are to help your work space stay lovely, so work is that little bit nicer each day 👩🏼💻
Tip 1 ✅ - Disinfect your keyboard, phone and desk once a week - they can hold more bacteria than a toilet 🚽🤢
Tip 2 ✅ - Empty your desk bin into the main bin at the end of every day 💼
Tip 3 ✅ - Wash your mug - It will be gross and eventually ruin the taste of your coffee - no one needs that ☕️😱
There you have it. Which tip will you find easiest to stick to? Do you have any others for us? Let us know below👇🏼
Don’t fancy doing any of that? Then give us a call!
Is Your Business Taking Over Your Life?🧐
We can all pretty much agree that we went into the entrepreneur industry because we wanted to have MORE time for ourselves and family, not less!
So why does it feel like you're spending more time working than ever before? Ugh! The struggle is REAL!
Trust me, I get it!‼️
As a wife and mom, it's hard to find that happy balance.⚖️
I wish I could tell you there is a magic button you can push to solve this dilemma, but I have the next best thing! Some solid advice from a fellow entrepreneur mama👨👩👧👦!
It's all about trial and error, so don't be discouraged if what you try just doesn't work right away.
But you won't know until you start!🕐 Some things you should implement into your biz so your life won't be put on the back burner are as follows:
🔹 - Time Blocking
🔹 - Setting a timer with each task
🔹- Scheduling your SM posts
🔹- Batching your content creation
🔹- Unplugging by a certain time each day
🔹- Mommy/Kiddo work/play dates with other entrepreneurs
These are just some simple ideas to help you get your work done but maintain a normal, sane, and enjoyable life at home with your family!
What tips do you have to balance it all?? 👇🏽
Save this post for the next time you’re about to do some public speaking.
What does this mean? This means that the audience is not sitting there waiting for you to fail! Most members of your audience are sitting there cheering you on in their heads! The others are hoping you don’t mess up because that’s too painfully awkward to watch. And then there are like 3 people who aren’t paying attention anyways (AH HEM!!)
Do you get nervous that the audience is just sitting, waiting, expecting you to fail?? I’m here to tell you this simply isn’t true! .
Think about when you’ve been the audience member. Have you ever wanted a speaker to fail? Of course not! First, it feels good to see people do well. Second, it is PAINFUL to watch a speaker bomb. We do not want to see that. Third, you’re spending your time watching this person speak; you’re there to get something out of it, so it benefits you if they do well. .
Did this help settle your mind a bit on the topic of public speaking? If it did, could you do me a huge favor and tag a friend who needs to hear this too??
How do you entertain yourself when you've got a few hours alone during the holidays? A good read? A movie? A Netflix binge? I love Turkish TV series and I think my taste in them will tell you a ton about the person I am! My all-time favorite Turkish series is Fi. I could quote endlessly from it and I’ve watched it no less than 6 times! There’s never a time when watching a Turkish series like Fatmagül doesn’t sound like fun, and even though sometimes it makes me cry, I still adore it. Siyah Beyaz Aşk makes me laugh uncontrollably and Karadayı is my current favorite escape. What are some of your all-time free-time faves?
Would you be so much further along if you spent less time trying to make your business run smoothly and your website look pretty and more time talking to the people who need you?⠀
Don’t hide behind your tech. It’s supposed to make you money, not help you stay small.

Being productive is different than busy. One is focused, and the other is more like spinning your wheels in snow. I always used to define this as the period in business when we were only doing the work. In moments when we would slow down and pay attention, we would see what was working and growing us, as well as all our faults. These efforts would always create the best momentum, but it took years to learn and fully understand it's importance.
Today, I use lists in the long term, short and immediate, to achieve the results I want. List's keep me on track and incrementally moves the needle of business forward with a real strategy. Long term goals are helpful, but I've found short term (priority lists) to be the actual special ingredient of getting things done. It takes a detailed goal setting, being realistic, and showing up daily.
Added benefits include happiness, free time, better friendships, and less forgetting.
That’s what I’m trying to figure out this morning; how many days it’s been since being able to sit down in the morning with coffee and breakfast and gather my thoughts or prepare for the day. I’m not complaining, it just feels nice. As my grandpa says, “you gotta make hay while the sun is shining.” Being busy is always better than the alternative.
@laurenheimstudio and I put in a couple long days (weeks) for the @strawberryswingkc show last weekend at @unionstationkc. This week she (I helped some too 😁) has been filling large orders and online orders. Pretty sure I put about 200 miles on the old Honda Pilot yesterday running errands for stuff that needed handled. Now, I have a quiet hour before we get to head out to a fun wedding this weekend!
With January coming, I’m working on doing ALL the things: ☑️ six week workflow challenge (you can sign up with link in bio!) ☑️ planning a small, focused mastermind group for the start of January (message me if you want details!) ☑️ Updating my online course for productivity, “Scheduling Your Day Like a Pro.” ☑️ Helping businesses/self-employed with their 2020 business goals.

Many people think that writing things down is an old school and cliché technique (which they don't consider cool) but it surely is one of the most powerful habits to increase one’s productivity.
Paper is to write things down that we need to remember. Our brains are used to think. ~ Albert Einstein
1. Ideas don’t last long in mind – It happens many times that a great idea comes in your mind and you decide you will work on it. But after a while when you try to think what that idea was you don’t remember it. Always take a note of the ideas as they occur to you so that you don't miss out something good.
2. Makes us stick to our to-do list- It’s a good practice of starting our day by writing down the tasks which are meant to be completed in that day. It helps us focus on the things to be done rather than ending up wasting time on other unnecessary jobs. Be it “picking up some items from the grocery store”, “calling your mom” or finishing the pending assignment. It makes us feel jubilant and gives a sense of satisfaction while striking out a completed task.
3. Gives clarity to our thinking – Writing things down transforms our chaotic ideas into an organized ones. This helps us feel relaxed and reduces the amount of information piling up in the head. In the process of writing down your thoughts, you achieve a sense of clarity and can prioritize things accordingly.
4. It helps to recognize your emotions- Having a bad day? Just write down how you feel to help yourself understand better about your emotions and how to reflect on them. It’s a great way to untangle your conflicting thoughts, reduce stress and focus on your mental health.
5. Your notes will help your future self – When you start writing consistently about your thoughts and ideas you can actually track your progress. It acts as a reference for future to track down your actions and outcome of any idea or business plan you tried to implement. It also becomes a piece of information which can be helpful for your future self or others with whom you would like to share.

Ever worry that you’re not working *hard* enough? Or feel overwhelmed, overstretched and overcommitted? 🙋🏻♀️ If so, you might be “hustling” your way straight into burnout.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pls 🙏🏽 don’t believe the hype. Hustling 24/7/365 is *not* sustainable or smart. Yes, growing anything from the ground up takes time. Yes, great work requires extraordinary effort and consistency.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But getting yourself sick (physically and or mentally), is not the answer. Driving yourself into the ground is not wise. Overtime, pushing yourself non-stop is toxic for your health, sanity and your business.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
