I gained control when I went plantbased. I made a promise to myself that I was not going to fill my body with animal DNA, nor was I going to contribute to the horrors of factory farming.... Once I refined my diet, I began focusing on mental health. I am still on this journey and I am constantly evolving. I have yet to meet an obstacle that I cannot defeat !!

Lol, but really. Good Mornings are a crazy exercise. I just added them into my routine and BOIIII. Wow. I used only the bar on my first day to make sure I got the form right. These really hit the lower back and hamstrings.
1. Push butt out as if trying to touch a wall with it.
2. Keep head in line with spine, don't look at yourself in the mirror.
3. Feet hip width apart.
4. Keep back straight.
5. Keep legs semi-straight, never locked.
Protein is the building blocks (amino acids) for muscles. Our bodies need to ingest essential amino acids (EAA) because we cannot produce these.
Plant protein can seem less effective than animal protein when referring to its ability to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. However this study looked at the varying amino acid profile of plant based proteins
Interestingly corn had a leucine content of 13.5% that was higher than milk (9%), egg (7%) and our muscle protein (7.6%). Conversely corn is low in lysine, which my lower our ability for muscle protein synthesis.
This is referable proof that eating a well rounded plant based diet will ensure that you are meeting required amounts of EAAs. This way you can mix and match plant based proteins with different amino acid profiles.

I have been super busy since coming back from overseas; and the new Spring range allows me to stick to my macros; and achieve my health and fitness goals 🏋🏿♀️. These meals are life savers for whoever wants to eat health; but is very time limited🙅🏽♀️

Chewy Oreo Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe 🍪🥜🍫
This creations is what I think would happen if peanut butter, cookies and Oreos had a baby 😂 But hey, if it’s a cookie inside another cookie, it’s bound to be good right? 😜 And why hasn’t Oreos come out with a peanut butter version yet? (Or have they and I have been living under a rock)... just imagine golden graham cracker cookies with double peanut butter filling 🤤🤤
▪️50g almond meal
▪️100g oat flour
▪️70g plain flour
▪️30g @brawnaturals vanilla protein powder
▪️130g @fitlato no-sugar sweetener (or granulated sweetener)
▪️70g @pureharvest rice malt syrup
▪️100g olive oil spread
▪️50g smooth peanut butter
▪️15g almond milk
▪️1/2 tsp salt
▪️1 tsp vanilla extract
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 170C
2️⃣ Combine all ingredients (except Oreos) in a bowl until a dough forms
3️⃣ Form flat discs out of dough and sandwich an Oreo cookie between 2 discs
4️⃣ Mould the dough around the Oreo and flatten (cookies don’t rise or expand when baked)
5️⃣ Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 18-20min and allow to cool completely on the pan (cookies will harden once cooled)

PB & J Twix Bars 🍯
I took a bit of a hiatus from baking (and everything really 😅) over the last few days, but the minute the new @happywayau Choc Peanut Butter protein arrived at my doorstep, I couldn’t help myself. I knew exactly what I needed to do.
You could say I had some Twix up my sleeve 🤷🏼♀️
For the base:
▪️30g peanut butter
▪️20-30ml almond milk
▪️30g oat flour
▪️20g almond meal or chocolate pea protein
▪️15g @happywayau choc PB whey protein
For the PB&J filling:
▪️30g @happywayau choc PB whey protein
▪️50g peanut butter
▪️5-10ml almond milk as needed
▪️30g frozen raspberries.
For the coating:
▪️40g dark chocolate
1. For the base: Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until combined.
2. With your hands, mould the mixture until it forms a dough-like consistency. Press this dough into a lined loaf/brownie tin, and place in the freezer to set.
3. For the filling: Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until combined. The texture should be like a gooey caramel. Pour this mixture on top of your cooled base, place frozen raspberries on top and place back in the freezer to set for 2-4 hours.
4. For the coating: melt chocolate in the microwave or over a saucepan on boiling water.
5. Once your base and filling have set together, cut them into 8 thin, even sized pieces. Dip and coat in the melted chocolate, and place on baking paper
6. Place all pieces in the freezer to set for another 2 hours before serving. Best enjoyed chilled.

3 frozen bananas, 300g blueberries, a dash of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of butterfly pea powder and a scoop of blueberry protein powder. Topped with frozen raspberries and currants!

HOW TO UP YOUR PROTEIN INTAKE

Because I don’t eat a huge amount of meat (although I have started to reintroduce it recently because of health reasons), I still try to be conscious of my protein intake throughout the day!
A decent intake of protein is beneficial for ANYONE - whether you train or not! It’s more satiating and aids ordinary bodily functions, not only muscle building. So I thought it might be helpful to share my fave high protein snacks for those of you who are looking for meat free ways to keep ya protein up!
