Every great transformation starts with a courageous choice to do something different.
Here's to knowing we always have a choice, beautiful humans.

Some of the lessons that I've learned in business
1. Thoughts become things, so choose them wisely. This is also the title of a really great book by Mike Dooley. Use your thoughts to affirm yourself.
2. Seek knowledge in your field of interest. It's not good enough to operate SOLELY on principles that you learned when you were starting out. Refresh your knowledge base.
3. Don't be afraid to level up.
"What if" reflects your fears BUT "Even if" reflects your faith.
Quarantine makes you miss a lot of things...but one of the things I miss the most is public speaking (I prefer to call it storytelling).
My mom jokes my failed childhood acting career set me up for a successful public speaking career in my adult life. (Idk if I’d call it successful yet, but if it helps her feel like she didn’t waste her money then successful it is🤣)
Over the past 3 years requests for me to come speak to groups about my story and @beedowntown’s story have continued to increase and I’ll be honest...I’ve found there are few things that bring me more excitement than being on stage and sharing my passion in hopes it encourages other people to follow their dreams as well. (I’m also a diva and love to be on stage...I get that from my big sister who’s acting/musical career was anything BUT a failure growing up). My mom says the Bonner girls have never found a mic the did not like.🙈
Over the past 6 months we’ve had dozens of storytelling events cancelled and I had no idea I’d miss it as badly as I do.
Storytelling over Zoom is harder than in person even though it seems like it would be easier. You can’t see people, you are often times just looking at yourself or a deck which is actually quite disorienting, people are on mute so you can’t tell if your laugh lines are landing (I’ve started asking people to unmute when they laugh so I can get some sort of acknowledgement for my hilarious jokes😂), you don’t feel the energy in the room, and the most difficult thing of all is there’s no opportunity afterward to meet attendees and learn about their stories and their passions. (I LOVE talking and listening to people after events).
In short: this diva misses being on stage and I felt like being dramatic and posting so everyone would know 😂
Happy to announce that this guy will help me in the office and with the webshop from September.
I find it tremendously difficult to allow someone externally to manage my webshop and take care of my finances. After a long period of reflection, my boyfriend decided to help with my business from September onwards.
It will probably be a challenge to work together, but I have every confidence in it. He will also manage the finances completely independently and I trust him with my life.
My boyfriend is an eternal student and will hopefully complete his master's degree in law in February👨🏻🎓. After that he wants to start another MaNaMa so he has time to help me in addition to his studies.
I love you and I’m so happy to have you in my life❤️
As many thought after this picture, I am not pregnant. I love children but at the moment, I really don’t see how I could ever manage that😅

Speed up your brain.💥
Be a giver not a taker ☄️💥
Presenting to a group of people used to scare the hell out of me! 😬 Especially, when I was in high school. I used to get so nervous my knees would shake like a leaf. It was a fear that held me back for a long time until I made the decision to confront it.
I used a few techniques that really helped curb my anxiety. The first was being prepared for the presentation and the other two were learning to control my breathing and visualising myself talking Infront of large groups.
The breathing and vsualising is something I wish I knew about when I was in high school. I used to get really nervous before my rep games and never performed as well as I should have. I now understand why, being anxious creates tension in the body and this can completely take you out of rhythm. It also leads to a tendency to overthink situations and make bad decisions.
Breathing and visualisations doesn’t exactly come easy though, it requires patience and practice just like working out in the gym or working on your skill set, but I believe they are useful tools for any athlete to improve their performance.
I’m feeling all the feels for this throwback Thursday. As we prepare to launch my new brand this Saturday (ahhh!) I’m feeling so nostalgic about the work that I’ve done with the Sunny Girl platform.
It all started in my dorm room bunk bed at UCLA when I decided I want to write a book. When I reached out to @gretchenrubin to see if she wanted to write a teen edition of The Happiness Project with me—and she graciously declined—I never knew how it would change my life.
From that rejection, I decided to write my own book, The Sunny Side Up. That led to so many wonderful trips, traveling around the country and speaking about happiness with thousands of amazing people.
In all, I was able to give over 200 talks in over 30 states—and most of them wearing a yellow dress! 🌼
I got to meet many of you because of my Sunny Girl journey. You have hosted me, shown me your favorite parts of your town, and welcomed me with open arms.
Because I’m going down memory lane today, I’d love to hear if you have a favorite memory from our work together.
Thank you for being a part of the journey with me. I can’t wait to take the next steps with you.
Your Sunny Girl, Lauren Cook

This could be podcasting, audiobooks, reading blogs – it doesn’t really matter. I always spend 2 hours a day at a MINIMUM just learning stuff, but the reason I do it is to get smarter and sharper.
The way I see it is that there’s ALWAYS someone smarter than you in the game you’re playing that is a BAD ACTOR, someone who doesn’t give value to others, someone who frankly doesn’t care about others, but the truth is that, there’s A LOT of bad people who beat good people in the world. That’s just how it works.
Why am I telling you this?
Because if YOU want to beat the bad actors in YOUR game, the Goliaths that don’t innovate, that don’t want to make a change like you do, it’s your responsibility to be smarter than they are so you can come out as the ultimate winner.
That’s why I’m so obsessed with getting as smart as I possibly can.
Because if I don’t.
I’ll lose to someone I don’t particularly like and that’s unacceptable to me so understand your competition and get so smart in your game, that you’ll become unbeatable.
Pleased to announce the winners of the Public Speaking Championship 2020 -
