Me encantará leerte 👇
This is one of the purest messages I have put on my social media accounts.
I love you all
You all give me confidence that I am worth
You all make me feel so loved with your warmth
You all help me serve my purpose
You all are precious to me and will always be
I really love all of you, May God give you all the success you dream of
To some extent, the capacity for great leadership is innate.
However, learning how to be a more effective leader is within everyone’s grasp – whether you lead multiple teams, an entire company or just one staff member 💪🏽

While these verbal crutches are common, overusing them can hurt your credibility in interviews or cause your audience to lose interest in what you have to say. Fortunately, it's possible to eliminate this habit, no matter how uncomfortable or nervous you may feel when speaking in public!
Here are 3 simple tricks to help you overcome common sentence fillers like ‘um's and 'uh's in your sentences:
1️⃣ Take your time!
There is absolutely no need to rush through your speech. In fact, the faster you go, the more likely you are to make a mistake. Take some time to internalise your thoughts before you actually vocalise them!
Although a short pause may feel like an eternity to you, it can do wonders for your speech pacing and actually help you appear calmer and more collected!
2️⃣ Replace your habitual sentence fillers with strategic sentence starters
Instead of saying "um" when you are thinking of a response to someone, try saying "Here are my thoughts". When quoting an example, you can try replacing sentence fillers such as "like" with more precise terms, such as "for example"!
(However, the best way to avoid sentence fillers would still be to take a quick pause to gather your thoughts.)
3️⃣ Practice, Practice, Practice!
Besides practicing their speeches, exceptional speakers often try to anticipate possible questions from the audiences too! This technique will minimise the chances of being caught off-guard when you are presenting, and therefore, minimising the nervous "um"s and "uh"s in your sentences.
Now, are you ready to nail your next presentation with these tricks? 😉

This is my 8-year-old, Nia. She’s enthusiastic about everything, opinionated about most things, and NEVER afraid to speak her mind. 💫
Even though she’s small, Nia is always teaching me something. Recently, she taught me about her favorite YouTuber, @moriahelizabethofficial.
She’s actually one of my favorite YouTubers, too. Nia turned me on to her a few months ago and now our favorite thing to do together is watch the new arts and crafts video Moriah drops every Friday!
The highlight of our whole week is literally watching Moriah Elizabeth paint things🤷🏾♀️. We aren’t the only ones though because she’s got over 4 million subscribers worldwide. 🙌🏾
Besides being super talented, I love that Moriah isn’t afraid to be herself, just like Nia. They bring their own unique brand of quirk, humor and point of view to the world and that’s why I love them both. 🤗
I think we could all learn a lesson from these two. Be yourself. Tell your story. Those that you’re meant to reach will love you for it. 💯

Well, you've come this far so just read till the end
I'm Abiye Abere Jnr. and I find it funny how I started my Instagram account in 2014 and started existing some weeks back.
You may wonder how...I'll tell you
My life on Instagram has been to just be here, look out for people's post, post what I think I can, and go off... This is contrary to my normal self, because of how much I love to communicate and share the knowledge I garner
The joy that I have is seeing people become the best expression of themselves as a result of my words, which is why I cherish my career as a Public Speaker
I became intentional about posting content on public speaking because of my passion to help individuals become better speakers, and will resume making posts to inspire my followers to become the best expression of themselves
Well, you've done a good job in reading this caption😉
So I'll love to know you in the comments and why you post what you post on these online streets 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

The people of Milton weren’t ready for all of THIS.
And when I say THIS, I mean energy, vibe, boldness, loudness and everything that makes someone STAND OUT.
If you’re someone who’s a lover of bold print, super short shorts, rompers, funky hair, or bright lipstick, LET THIS PHOTO ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO OUT AND BE YOU.
Be the MOST.
Because when you’re being and feeling the MOST:
🌺you feel no ways showing up and showing off!
🌸you feel comfortable in your skin.
🌼you’re having a damn good time!
You don’t fear public speaking 🧐
So you say you’re terrified of public speaking. Let me tell you why you’re wrong... #sorrynotsorry
People often say they’re afraid of public speaking, when really the act itself isn’t what they’re nervous about.
👉🏽 You’re nervous you’re going to mess up.
👉🏽 You’re worried you’re going to embarrass yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏽 You feel people will negatively judge you.
👉🏽 You’re worried you won’t be taken seriously. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s going on here? Well, you’re anxious about the potential consequences FROM speaking ⚡️
But wait, does it stop there?
No, because yes you’re worried about all those consequences... but how does that make you feel? 🤔
The uncomfortable feelings attached to the potential outcomes of speaking is what you fear the most 🤯 If the very thing comes true, how will that affect you? What feelings will arise? Will you be able to handle the consequences?
The fear of feeling like we aren’t good enough, like we’re unworthy, like we don’t deserve the seat at any table, can paralyze us.
Public speaking is more than just “tools and techniques” 🛠
It’s a mix of personal development + learning to communicate with an audience in an engaging style 🔑
Are you someone looking to AMPLIFY their voice in the online space, but feel like they are WAAAY too many things holding you back? 🤷🏽♀️
Send me a DM and let’s chat 🗣☕️

Believe it or not, I was not looking for a public speaking course or a program to enter, nor was I in search for a speaker coach. In the middle of moving countries, home schooling, sourdough bread baking, full time job, an 8-week long speaking program was the least my schedule could accommodate. 🤷🏼♀️
But then hey, I thought, it can’t be that difficult to write a 12-15-minute talk, right?
The power of hashtags brought me to Helena @helenaspeaking. I posted one of my own videos and was browsing for relevant tags for myself when I stumbled upon this woman in LA who coached over 150+ TED/TEDx speakers and was conveniently launching a program just a few days later - The Speakeasy.
In general, when I enrol myself into a study, training program like this, home bread baking or photography (yes), I do not search for these things specifically. They just find me. 😁 Fact.
If you were able to hear me speak today at The Speakeasy Summit, I thank you. I could not see or hear you and I must say it was a rather strange experience comparing with live audience.
On the last note, Helena will be launching the same program (well, actually, lucky you, its going to be a 10-weeks program instead of 8) in autumn, so head to her profile to join the Waiting List. You will love working with her, I promise!
