This was Clementine’s last day with us. We spent the whole day at home with her - snuggling and laying on the floor together. Winston didn’t leave her side and she never left her home, her comfortable place, her favorite spot. Yes, she had assistance crossing the bridge, but we were able to do that right here in the comfort and security of her home because of @hrvethospice. In-home hospice and palliative veterinary care was the biggest blessing to us. I am eternally grateful to have found their services and to our sweet sweet vet, Dr. Sharon. They even made a donation in memory of Clementine to @myiaahpc - the international association for animal hospice and palliative care. Their mission is to promote comfort care that addresses the physical, psychological, and social needs of animals with chronic and/or life-limiting diseases. They promote physical, emotional and spiritual support for caregivers (and let me tell you - we need it!). They also educate professionals and advance research in the field of animal hospice and palliative care. This is maybe the best veterinary decision I’ve ever made and I want people to know that it may be an option for them. That it may not necessarily be more than a standard vet visit and that many services may be covered if you have pet insurance - almost 100% of Clementine’s end of life in-home hospice care was covered by her @nationwidepet policy. You can find out if there’s a provider near you who offers these services by going to their website: www.iaahpc.org
I know it’s not something anyone wants to think about, but I am so glad I did my research and called them in before it was time so she had a comfort level with her vet and so the vet had a baseline for her health. Please please - if your furbabe is aging, has anxiety or trouble going to the vet or struggles with a chronic illness, do yourself and them a favor and look into these services now - you will not regret it and it may even help remove some of the anxiety around this difficult stage of life.

The antibiotics and steroids are working wonders! We also give her hydrocodone cough syrup to control her cough on days that it’s really bad. She HATES it when I use the syringe to inject the medicine into her mouth and has figured out when to turn her head just at the right moment. Here she has red syrup all over her neck. I’ve tried so hard to get her looking healthy and now she looks like someone cut her. 🤣 #littlemiss#pugrescue#rescuepugs
Acho que meus papais são um pouco esquecidos... todo dia eu preciso lembrar que está na hora da minha comida. Hoje eu lembrei o papai 30 minutos antes. E não é que deu certo? 😬🐶🐾😇 #pug#pugbrasil#pugs#puglove#puggle
So, this video of Teddy from our stories was so popular the other day that I decided to post it here. Teddy, for anyone who missed it, was Grumble Farm’s newest little house guest this weekend (a first-time pug sitting client) - and from the second I saw him doing this, I couldn’t stop laughing! This isn’t even the best video. He would literally stare at the fridge and do this endlessly - his Mama even told me that he’ll start to pull down dish towels if he doesn’t get what he wants, hahaha. I’ve never met a pug who does this before - does yours?! WHY ARE PUGS SO FUNNY???? Bless them for making our lives a little (a lot!) brighter! P.S. Excuse my unpacked bins in the corner... it’s been four months since moving into this little apartment and I still haven’t unpacked entirely 😬 #TubeTeddy@infield_andtown
