Rules of owning a dog.
1. Earn their trust.
Without trust in you, your dog has nothing.
With trust in you, they will follow you and be your lifeline whenever things get rough.
2. Exercise them both physically and mentally, regularly. You chose to get a dog.
If you feel like your dog has too much energy, you’re either doing too little, or you’re not doing what your dog needs.
3. Teach them how to socialize.
Manners are not supposed to be a surprise.
It is to be expected.
A dog that knows how to behave around other dogs and people will make sense of their experiences.
They will thrive!
A bad behaved dog has no clue, and will have a ton of hostile encounters.
Do the work incrementally.
You want your dog to succeed.
5. Trust them!
Train them in a progressively challenging environment.
Train them to succeed off leash.
Let them be around different people of all ages.
Kids, elderly and different ethnicities.
Your dog is your best bet at a blessed life.
