Hands up who’s staying in tomorrow night?! 🙋♀️🙋♂️ Tune in to Channel 4 (UK) at 8pm GMT to watch ‘Secrets of Egypt’s Valley of the Kings’; a fascinating series produced and directed by our very own @gwyntv 🎥 !
The area known as the Giza Complex includes the Giza Necropolis, Sphynx, Pyramids, and Valley Temple of Khafre.
Nearly 5,000 years ago, Memphis was the capital of Egypt and Giza served as the burial grounds for the royals. The three pyramid complexes were created in honor of their kings. The oldest of the Pyramids of Giza were built all the way back in 2613-2498 BC and there are so many different layers of meaning surrounding them.
The pyramids are located on the west side of the Nile River because this is the side the sun sets on. Back thousands of years ago, Egyptians believed that the living should be on the east side where the sun rises while the dead should be on the other side.
Exactly a month back on 27th Feb #2020 this is me celebrating my Birthday in Egypt.
Yes, the #covid_19 was spreading then but come #march2020 it got crazy, with sudden outbreaks in #italy and most countries across reporting cases. Who knew then we are leading towards a #pandemic2020 ! .
Right now in self #quarantinelife , working from home, not going out, with things being shut I only have one overarching thought - Never take life and anything for granted 🙏
• #stayhome#staysafe - it’s the need of the hour!
This was located by the red sea in Egypt sounds like the red sea clusters in space
& we are in the month of March:) yay!
I'm amazed at the fact that the water in the center. I still wonder what's under the pyramids though. #ALIENCONTENT#1997#pyramidsofgiza 👽
Currently, there is only one company that provides paragliding tours over the Pyramids, Holiday One Tours. It's totally an amazing experience that I would absolutely recommend! Yehia and Mohamed were amazing with communicating to find the best time for us to fly, and getting me in the air despite how windy it was when it was my turn to fly! (It actually took two failed takeoffs to get into the air, but I was determined) Soaring over one of the #sevenwonders was so crazy! And to show Egyptian hospitality- one of these guys even took off his jacket and belt so I could be dressed properly to fly- because I didn't come prepared! They were truly amazing! (This isn't sponsored) and I’m so lucky to have had this once in a lifetime experience. .
Double Statue of Nimaatsed
Nimaatsed was a priest of Re and Hathor in the solar temple of Neferirkare Kakai.
He also served as a judge and priest at the pyramids of Neferirkare Kakai, Neferefre, and Nyuserre Ini.
The statues share one base and are nearly identical but differ slightly in height.
His hands are by his sides and he holds the two small rods of dignity.
On his head he wears a short, large wig that leaves his ears uncovered.
His eyelids, eyebrows, and fine mustache are painted in black. His neck is decorated with a beautiful multicolored necklace and his body is the reddish-brown color that was commonly used for male statues.
He wears a short white kilt with a yellow pleated extremity.
In ancient Egyptian tombs, it was common to find double or triple statues of the owner.
They perhaps showed the deceased at different ages or represented him with his Ka.
That would enable him have more offerings and prayers in the afterlife.
We all grow and learn throughout our lives. Becoming a better self is a life long process.
People won’t always like you where you are now because they want to see you way ahead or not progress at all. And some people will accept you for who you are and support you on your way heading to your better self. But only you know who you are at this moment, no one else. So don’t let other opinions determine who you are or how you’re supposed to be. Don’t let others tell you what you are and what you’re not. How you should be and how you shouldn’t.
The people you need are the ones that accept you with all of your flaws and imperfections. Cause no one, not a single person on this planet is PERFECT.
Not me , not you and no wannabe celebrity.
We are all different. And perfect in our OWN way.
It will never be possible to please everyone, and to make everyone like you. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be anyone liking you for who you are.
We all do mistakes. And that’s good, so we learn how to be better. How fast we learn, how much we learn and how often we have to do the same mistakes until we learn varies from person to person. And that’s OKAY. Everyone lives a different story. So don’t compare yourself to others and don’t let others compare you to again someone else. Because we are all DIFFERENT.
There is literally no human being existing twice.
We’re not only biological different.
But mentally, emotionally, and physically.
So don’t let comparison hinder your journey.
Same goes for others opinions of you.
So if someone dislikes you for who you are, then that’s how it is. And if someone accepts you for all of who you are then you’re lucky.
Be yourself. Chase your dreams. Doesn’t matter how crazy or impossible it might seems. Laugh, be moody, cry, be silly but let no one tell you, that you’re wrong.
You‘re good enough. You’re worthy. And you’re definitely worthy of being loved for who you are.
You are your kind of perfect.

Esta es una de las fotos a la que más cariño le tengo. Allá por 2007 pudimos disfrutar de un viaje inolvidable por Egipto y del que la esfinge es uno de mis recuerdos favoritos. La versión en blanco y negro preside mi salón...
