Les Brumes de Cendrelune de @georgia_dera chez @jailu_editions

Une petite merveille ! J’ai adoré du début à la fin, un coup de cœur.
On est transporté dans un monde où les humains ont l'a vie dure et les dieux qui les gouvernent ne font rien pour l’arranger bien ou contraire. On suit Céphise une jeune femme devenue orpheline, courageuse, qui a déjà connu bien des malheurs, mais malgré tout elle avance dans la vie et se renforce. D’un autre ont à Verlaine, une personne torturé, solitaire qui essaie tant bien que mal d’affronter sa sombre existence, toujours rabaisser par les siens, ou utilisé. Mais il est tellement attachant.
Les autres personnages sont tout autant importants, comme Héphaïstos, qui pourrait paraître détestable, je l’adore. Malgré l’image qu’il donne de lui, je suis sûre que ce n’est pas un méchant. Puis Proserpine qui vit une existence de torture et d’abus continue.
Une dystopie young adult parfaitement bien réalisée, la plume de l’auteure m’a conquise une fois de plus et m’a plongé dans son univers sans aucun problème. Les descriptions sont justes parfaitement dosées et expliqué. Je vous recommande fortement ce livre qui est un coup de cœur pour moi. Vivement le mois de mars pour avoir la suite !

If you’re looking for a quick read to close out 2019 with, I highly recommend this razor sharp novel, #TheIncendiaries , about the violent downward spiral of a college relationship.💥 R.O. Kwan has such a unique way of looking at the world, and her book contains some of the most blisteringly honest, beautiful language I’ve come across in some time. Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year 🙌🏼

Tra sospetti errati, deduzioni per sesto senso e collegamenti psicologici già letti sulla psicopatologia della vita quotidiana di Freud, si scopre il colpevole.

Mi è piaciuto molto, più di tutto perché mi ha insegnato cose nuove. Grazie a questo libro mi sono incuriosita e iscritta ad un gruppo di amanti dei ragni per approfondire.
Ho apprezzato il collegamento psicologico tra la reclusa ragno e la reclusa umana, la digressione storica su questa figura e tutto ciò che vi sta dietro.
Molto bello, non è crudo quindi mi sento di consigliarlo anche a persone un po' più deboli di stomaco, seppur tratti di temi scabrosi in alcuni punti lo fa senza essere pesante.
Oltre ad essere un giallo ben scritto è anche pieno di significati e di argomenti da approfondire!

📚 B O O K U P D A T E 📚

After being duped by British publishers with my copy of Little Women stopping at Father's return from war, I proceeded to get the entire copy on my Kindle to finish part two of the book.

I'm not far from the end and a lot has happened.
Meg has had babies, Jo has rejected Laurie, Amy is in Europe bonding with Laurie and - the part I was fearing most - Beth has passed away.

For all its moral platitudes and sickly sweet familial love, Little Women is an irresistible read. I can't seem to tear myself away from it. I keep rooting for Laurie and Amy to finally get together but it seems to be the most drawn out part. Meg seeing through the other side of marriage beyond the happily ever after is a nice touch.

Naturally this is a book that truly reflects its time yet it's hard to keep that in mind and not balk at statements about 'large-nosed Jews' or women as homemakers. It goes from being a book about girls growing into young, adult women to painting their society with concepts that are so reprehensible to us today.
Thankfully, we're heading towards a society of conscious readers and more likely to spot problems with concepts introduced in mainstream classics that no longer apply to us today.

I don't want to cancel Little Women for displaying the normalised antisemitism for its time but it's also quite revealing that the time in which it was written had ramifications in the 20th Century. Just some of my thoughts on Little Women and beyond here!

Tiffy Moore pilnie potrzebuje taniego lokum. Leon Twomey bierze nocne zmiany, bo rozpaczliwie potrzebuje pieniędzy. Choć ich przyjaciele sądzą, że to szaleństwo, oni znajdują idealne rozwiązanie: w ciągu dnia Leon będzie w ciasnej kawalerce odsypiał noce zmiany, dzięki czemu Tiffy będzie miała to samo mieszkanie wyłącznie dla siebie przez resztę doby.

Ona właśnie zerwała ze swoim zazdrosnym chłopakiem i ledwo wiąże koniec z końcem, pracując w niszowym wydawnictwie, on bardziej dba o innych niż o siebie – nocami zajmuje się pensjonariuszami domu opieki, a każdy grosz odkłada na prawników, którzy wyciągną jego niesłusznie skazanego brata z więzienia.

Na przekór wszystkim i wszystkiemu, dwoje niezwykłych współlokatorów odkrywa, że jeśli wyrzuci się wszystkie zasady przez okno, można stworzyć całkiem przyjemne i ciepłe domowe ognisko.

"Współlokatorzy" to świetnie napisany romans z dużą dawką humoru i genialną fabułą. To historia o tym jak toksyczne potrafią być związki oraz jak łatwe jest manipulowanie drugą osobą. Ukazuje również, że bez wsparcia przyjaciół nie dalibyśmy rady w trudnych chwilach.
Jednak na geniusz tej książki nie wpłynęła tylko fabuła, ale także sposób w jaki została napisana. Krótkie rozdziały sprawiały że szybko się ją czytało. Natomiast perspektywa dwóch osób pozwalała nam poznać oboje bohaterów. Nawiasem mówiąc postacie były bardzo dobrze wykreowane. W skrócie - nawet jakbym chciała to nie mam się do czego przyczepić

My kids are constantly getting books 📚 (usually used from thrift shops/half price books/or through their school's Scholastic Book Club) and reading is so important to their development. I love that this challenge is giving back to those children who are less fortunate and who do not have access to books as readily ❤️. Библиотека должна быть открыта 24 часа и он не имеет права покидать ее. Она стала его новым домом и местом работы. Любой желающий, в любое время дня и ночи, мог принести в библиотеку свою книгу.(Одна старушка принесла книгу о том, как выращивать цветы в гостиничном номере; а маленький мальчик, не умевший толком писать, принес нарисованную книгу о велосипеде...). Проще говоря, это было невостребованное "кладбище" книг и рукописей. Частенько в библиотеку приходили совсем неадекватные люди, но правила есть правила, книга должна быть принята и занесена в определенный реестр. Периодически в библиотеку заезжал водитель, привозил еду и всё необходимое; и забирал новые поступления в "секретные фонды". Такая жизнь устраивала главного героя, пока, однажды в библиотеку не зашла красивая девушка. Между молодыми людьми вспыхивает искра и завязываются отношения; она все чаще остаётся в библиотеке,и даже подменяет его. Они были счастливы, но её беременность вносит суету и грусть в их жизнь. Она слишком молода, чтобы стать матерью. Аборт —единственный выход. Но в США аборты вне закона, остаётся — маленькое путешествие в Мексику.

⠀⠀Когда моя жена впервые прочла книгу она сказала мне: " Как жаль, что эта книга не встретилась мне раньше. Когда я ещё не знала тебя и не знала себя..." Помолчав, она добавила: "Ты бы хотел полностью соответствовать тому "мужскому уровню", который ты задал в своём "призыве" к мужчинам?" Я ответил: "Да!" (с)

⠀⠀Она настоящая!!! Я читаю его, а он рассказывает про меня, про мои мысли, эмоции, чувства. Закрадываются сомнения в голову, а в самом ли деле это пишет мужчина?! Настолько точно передать все желания женщин... И все вроде как до банального просто, и давно уже известно и описано не раз. Но ощущение, что мне залезли в голову, достали все мои мысли и изложили на бумаге.

Gestern Abend habe ich mit diesem schönen Buch begonnen. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich bereits eine Art Vorgänger des Buches gelesen und fühlte mich sehr wohl mit der Geschichte. Vielleicht kennt der ein oder andere den Titel „Frühling im Kirschblütencafe“ Und auch in diesem Buch erkenne ich sofort den angenehmen Schreibstil der Autorin, der eine gewisse Wärme ausstrahlt. Noch dazu spielt es in der Vorweihnachtszeit und verbreitet ein wenig Stimmung. Ob man den Vorgänger auch vorher gelesen haben sollte, kann ich noch nicht genau sagen. 🤔Ich werde euch aber auf dem Laufenden halten.

Currently avidly reading, and really enjoying, this amazing book by @raynor.winn. It tells the story of a couple who lose their home (& at the same time her husband is diagnosed with a terminal illness) and then decide to walk the South West Coast Path, from Minehead to Poole via Land’s End. Thought provoking and beautifully written 🌊 (it was also shortlisted for the Costa book award, but I cheekily covered up the burgundy sticker stating this with shells 🐚 because I like the colours and design of the cover without it)

I have been struggling to find anytime for reading for a while now, but recently decided to start reading for ten mins each day whilst I eat my breakfast. It’s only a small amount of time but nonetheless I’m making good progress with this book already and it makes winter early morning starts much more enjoyable 😊

Dziś kolejna z książek z mojego świątecznego stosu od @czwartastrona - zaczynam się obawiać, że na same święta będę musiała się zaopatrzyć w całkowicie nowy 🤪

Właściwie przeczytałam tę książkę jako pierwszą i muszę przyznać, że... to nie był najlepszy wybór jak na start 🤷🏻‍♀️. Dopiero później się dowiedziałam, że to część serii i właściwie podsumowuje ona losy wszystkich bohaterów - przez co mi, jako osobie z nimi niezaznajomionej, bardzo trudno było połapać się w gąszczu bohaterów i ich perypetii 🤦🏻‍♀️. ⠀
Sprawy nie ułatwiał mi też fakt, że w powieści bezustannie poruszamy się po wielu płaszczyznach czasowych - zatem musiałam być podwójnie uważna, by się nie pogubić 😉. Jeśli nie znacie poprzednich trzech tomów nieco zaskakujące może być tempo akcji - ja miałam chwilami wrażenie, że czytam skondensowany skrót życia bohaterów 😁. Mimo wszystko to pełna ciepła historia o patchworkowej rodzinie, która całkiem nieźle odnajduje się w swojej nietypowej sytuacji - i z której można wiele dla siebie wyciągnąć o chowanych w głębi duszy urazach, żalach i przebaczeniu. Warto, moi drodzy, ale muszę się z Matyldą i Kosmą jednak lepiej poznać 🙃

Vivement la suite ! ❤️ J’ai adoré ce roman que j’ai lu très rapidement. à la fois parce qu’il est assez court mais surtout parce que le roman était hyper entraînant. La plume de l’autrice m’a beaucoup plu, elle est très fluide et efficace. J'ai aimé les personnages que j’ai trouvé très soudés et attachants. Ils forment une belle équipe prête à relever tous les défis. Et ils en auront à relever ! Que ce soit dans le jeu ou bien dans la vraie vie ou l’envie, le chantage et la trahison seront de la partie…Ce que j’ai le plus aimé, c’est l’univers de l’I.dream qui est absolument dingue ! L’autrice prend le temps de nous l’expliquer de manière rapide et pourtant, très complète. J’adore le concept de ce jeu et surtout tout ce qui est lié à lui notamment le fait que les concepteurs de cet univers virtuel pense également au bien-être des utilisateurs : durée maximale de jeu, tests pour savoir comment réagissent les utilisateurs et prise en charge de ceux-ci dans des centres adaptés aux besoins des joueurs… On dirait que tout est pensé pour divertir le public dans des conditions sanitaires optimales. C’était la première fois que je lisais ces détails, ce qui est hyper intéressant et donne une bonne image de la virtualité.

Ce premier tome plante le décor, les personnages… Il est à la fois introductif et également plein d’action. J’ai vraiment hâte que la suite sorte parce que cet univers est génial et j’ai clairement envie de m’y replonger.

Selam 🙋🏻‍♀️ @epsilonyayinevi nin son gözderinden biri ile geldim bugün. Sanıyorum bu yıl içerisinde beğendiğim ender kapaklardan birine sahip Vahşi Kızlar. Arka kapak yazısını okuyunca oluşan o beklentiyi de sonuna kadar karşılıyor. Yazarının ilk kitabı olmasına rağmen harika bir kurgu çıkarmış ortaya. Son derece akıcı ve sürükleyici bir yazım. Birazda sert bir dile sahip yazar. Bunu satırlarına da güzelce yansıtmış. Kan ve şiddeti bol, vahşi ve heyecanı son derece diri tutmuş. Açıkçası son zamanlarda okuduğum en heyecan verici kitaplardan biriydi. Tereddütsüz tavsiyemdir.

Je doute fortement que vous ayez loupé l'info, mais le tome 4 de la Passe-Miroir de @christelledabos publié chez @gallimard_jeunesse_romans est sorti et comme à peu près l'intégralité de bookstagram, j'ai relu le tome 1.

Je ne suis pas une grande fan de la saga, j'ai lu le premier tome il y a au moins 3 ans, si ce n'est plus et le deuxième dors encore dans ma pile à lire. Puisque le quatrième tome est sorti et que la saison me semble adaptée à ce roman, j'ai décidé de reprendre la saga.

Mon avis n'a pas changé, j'aime beaucoup cette histoire, même si ce n'est pas ce que je lis d'habitude. L'univers est très particulier et unique et c'est ce qui me pousse à continuer. J'ai d'ailleurs trouvé à la relecture que certains passages sont un peu osés, chose que je n'avais pas du tout capté il y a 3 ans.

Je suis bien partie pour continuer la saga et peut-être aller jusqu'au bout. Je vais déjà lire le tome 2 et j'aviserai.

Uno dei primi ricordi di me che leggo è legato al centro estetico dove mia mamma andava.
Mentre lei era nella cabina io stavo sul divanetto a leggere il libro che avevo appena scelto in biblioteca.
Se mi concentro sento ancora la sensazione e il ricordo dei profumi di quei momenti: la carta delle pagine e i prodotti di bellezza che si mescolano.

Lo scorso fine settimana ho fatto una sorpresa alla mia mamma che era qui a Berlino per qualche giorno: una pedicure di coppia!
Mentre aspettavamo mi sono venuti in mente quei momenti e mi piace sapere che dopo così tanti anni, un libro in un centro estetico comunque non mi manca mai!
