My last photo of the yellow kitchen in our #deerisleheirloom project was such a hit we have a bunch of new faces around here so I thought I’d re-intro myself! This account started as a way to document the restoration of our family home in Brooklin, Maine. We’re the sixth generation to live here and have spent the past five years getting her back into shape after she was empty for about 12 years. We moved here permanently almost three years ago, and welcomed our son (7th generation) last March. Last November we bought a pink farmhouse on Deer Isle, just across the Eggemoggin Reach. We’ve been slowly fixing her up while my mother in law lives there. It will eventually be a summer rental when the world settles down. I’m currently taking on e-design only clients as well. Got any questions? Lemme know! Photo 1/ My husband, Levi, and me last summer. Photo 2/ my grandmother with my aunt and uncles in our living room circa 1950ish. Photo 3/ The upstairs of our house when we began renovating. Photo 4/ Our farmhouse project.

Wellness check...are y'all taking care of yourselves during these crazy times? Now that the warmer temps are looking like they're here to stay, we're sticking with our go-to, lemon water, or our splurge, lemonade.
As an artist myself I really enjoy artwork in people’s home. I think it’s important to display family photos, achievements, or other things on your walls, but adding a piece of artwork above your fireplace, or in your bedroom can really put the intention into the room.
Be selective with your art. Don’t hang it just because it was a gift, or you’re grandma painted it. If it doesn’t make you feel serene and comfortable in your home, don’t keep it. Life is too short to own things that don’t make you feel alive.
Fast furniture and accessories are low quality, and made to make you feel “on trend,” but quickly make you few outdated and unfulfilled. Hire me first before you buy another piece of artwork.

Whether an entree salad or a generous side dish, the Nourish Bowl is my new favorite. Washing up last night after dinner I was struck by how good this bowl feels in your hand. Its smoothness and proportions are just a dream.
It’s week 4 of the @oneroomchallenge and we are officially at the halfway point. This week I am sharing a little about the process of refinishing the hardwood floors and what they look like now 👀 Link in bio to check it out!
An often overlooked corner of the bathroom but a very special one nontheless. This medicine cabinet hung in my grandparents sea captain's house in Brewster, and Matt carefully refinished it last spring when we were counting down the days before we closed on the cottage.
Cats on cats over here... 🐅 Azzy has claimed the baby nursery as her own (even the crib) and I’m not quite sure what to do about it! If I were a betting woman, I’d say that the baby may not be the best at sharing.⠀
Anyhow... for week 4 of the @oneroomchallenge I’m giving the skinny on the rugs in this space. The beautiful indigo number was gifted from one of my favorite sponsors ever: @mohawk_home . This wild and colorful rug combo make me so happy!
I’ve also written about how I painted this vintage Jenny Lind crib in the easiest most shortcut taking route ever. I’m talking easy. Fun fact: this was my crib as a baby 🥰. Link in bio for the details!

Check out this dream bathroom! Designed by @sybrandtcreative they used our 💡Leyland Sconces💡 here beside the mirror.
Well, there’s blue but then there’s Hyper Blue. No really that’s the name of this color blue by @sherwinwilliams... 😉 But when designing a den for the #oneroomchallenge , which will primarily be the kids space, Hyper Blue feels rather appropriate. Plus both of my kids favorite color is blue so blue it is. Not only the built-ins but also the laundry room kitchenette cabinets are a complimentary blue too! Swipe through to get a sneak peek at the Dynamic Blue cabinets. And I may have already chosen a third blue for the laundry room walls. A lot of blue, eh? Next steps are going to be grounding all that blue with some fabulous black and white wallpaper. Maybe next week you’ll ssssssssssssssee. 🐍 How are you all hanging in there, friends? I am having some mad fun. But it’s also been raining for like a week now so I have found my groove. House still smells like wet dog though. 🐶💙💙
Oh also have to figure out all those other #bhgorc components like countertops, sink, washer/dryer, shelves, lighting, hardware, furniture, decor, etc. but we got some color up in here! 💙 @oneroomchallenge@betterhomesandgardens

Clear skies in Seattle call for abundant outside time. Here’s the exterior of our City Cabin, designed by @olsonkundig and built by us @dovetail_gc. Clad in reclaimed fir from a barn in eastern Washington. Paired with custom awnings, gutters, and down spouts made of galvanized steel that was hand crafted in the Dovetail Metal Shop. Cheers to sunshine and beautiful details inside and out. #dovetailmetalshop (photo: @aaronleitz)
