Practice makes perfect (well almost!) after nearly 3 weeks of video calls, I’m getting there. Initially I found it difficult to establish the same natural rapport with a new client or professional contact via Teams. If you are having the same issues try these 5:
*look into the camera! Sounds simple but I noticed with two screens I was drifting my gaze *raise your device to eye level
*sit facing a window not with the light behind you (behind you makes you look like a spooky silhouette!)
*smaller number of slides, enough to support your main points or story (death by slides!!)
*practice makes perfect! I have worked with my patient colleagues to improve my delivery

Struggling with sleep during quarantine? Here are a few reasons why. Try to make it part of yourself-isolation routine to transform your sleeping habits and kick off your comeback on the right foot.
Analysis paralysis is real.
Yesterday I stuck in the choice between TableView, CollectionView or SwiftUI for one of the screen updates and did nothing.
After freelance work hours, I designed changes for one of the screens in the app to try to increase in-app purchases amount. That is a basic CTA (call to action) banner to show users option upgrade to the premium app version.
Currently, simple TableView is used for that screen and I could add one custom cell to show CTA. Then I started to think that I could use CollectionView because there are way more options and it will be good for future changes, for sure I started to sketch those as well.
For CollectionView could be nice to use a diffable data source, but that comes with iOS 13 only and if I drop iOS 12 support I can use SwiftUI for that screen. So, I spent all the time on planning and sketching ideas only. Sometimes that is the right thing to do, but for this time I'm calling this - paralysis by analysis. -
Be aware of a falling in this trap. Planing and analytics are important, but by the end of a day, customers do not care what approach or technique do you use to get to the result.

Today, I’m raising a glass to our health providers. To the people working on both supermarkets and pharmacies making sure we have access to food and basic needs. To all farmers and people working in agriculture making sure we continue to get food in our tables. To all postman and mailman who continue to work so they can deliver every order we make online so we don't leave our homes. To small business owners who are taking orders, doing takeouts, delivery, pivoting and shifting to serve and to thrive I see you and I'm so damn proud of you for keep going even in times or uncertainty! I’ve been working from home for almost a month now because of quarantine! At first it was definitely an adjustment until I figured out a routine. A link to my post is in my stories, but I want to list THREE of my best tips below! .
1️⃣ OPEN UP YOUR WINDOWS! This might seem like a small and trivial task, but not having fluorescent lights on all day while you’re working at a computer is a great tip!
2️⃣ TAKE A WALK! I love the option to take a quick walk on my lunch break or to go on a longer one after work! It’s also great because it’s something you can still do while self-distancing.
3️⃣ CREATE A SEPARATE WORKSPACE! Even if you only have a 1-bedroom apartment like I do, be sure to set up an area specially for you to work! It’ll help it feel like it’s not all the same place.
