With so many hate and depressing news, stories, videos going around, it is vital to know how and when to take a break.
Social media is a very useful tool to gather information, collect thoughts, learn and grow. You can find out about so many good things but you can also find the bad things that we wish we did not see.
Constant pressure may potentially break you. Regardless of whether this is something small scale like work or something big like the news of Racism, it may make you feel hopeless, disappointed, and powerless. If you begin to or are already feeling this way, take a step back. It’s okay to do that and it’s vital for your mental and physical health.
Taking a step back, taking a break is essential. It is not something that should be looked down upon. If you think taking a break is something weak or embarrassing, consider this example:
You’re driving to your destination but all of a sudden you get hungry or you become thirsty. You didn’t bring anything with you, and you see a Starbucks or McDonalds, some kind of drive thru place. You get what you ordered and you go back on the road towards your destination.
Is going to a drive thru because you were hungry or thirsty something embarrassing? No! It helped you recover, it replenished your body. Did it take away some time? Yes. But you got back on the road and headed to where you wanted to go.
Taking a break helps you get back on track. It builds up motivation, power, courage, to get through your life.
It is not embarrassing. It is not a sign of weakness. We all need it. When we take it, we become stronger.
Take a break. You may desperately need it.

A little reminder to tune in with your body and take a break from time to time because when we constantly try to move forward without break, pace slows down, and we end up exhausted before even getting to the finish line. Or maybe it’s just jamming to a FEEL GOOD music in your room, dancing like no one’s watching! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whatever it is, find something you can do that takes your mind off for at least 2 hours. And then, carry on. With a spiritually replenished soul, you will be able to forge on ahead with more power, energy, and clarity. Please stay safe and sending you an energetic bubble of protection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There is a lot of darkness, but we can be the light. God didn't create us to rely on ourselves, we need to rely on Him. 🤲
Yesterday, I hit a low point. I needed to step away from social media. I realized I needed to reconnect with God. I needed to take care of my mental & spiritual health.
Trying to undo all of the hatred and racism cannot be done all at once. I wish it could. Prayer, donations, signing petitions, keeping up with what is happening, reading about protests, supporting black creators, & connecting with others is great & have all been things I have been doing, but I hit a point where I needed to give up the WEIGHT to Jesus. 🙏
My soul, my mind, and my heart felt the heaviest it has EVER FELT & that included all of the physical health stuff from last year!
Here is what I did: I set down my phone. 📲
I took a short walk with my husband. I did some yoga stretching & breathing exercises. I played with my dog. I poured out to God in prayer about EVERYTHING.
When I felt more grounded again, I picked up my phone, listened to some @chilledcow_yt, soaked my feet in some epsom salts, & looked at pictures of puppies. It helped. 😌
Once I began to feel refreshed, I reached out to several of my friends. To check in, to check on, to share our lives in the moment.
Later I logged into Facebook & I saw a video a friend had shared that I truly felt God led me to. The video was called "Become the Bridge". It was a sit down discussion recently created between two Pastors about how to bridge the gap of the racial divide. (Video is on YouTube on the Elevation church channel.) I felt inspired & renewed. 😇
Yesterday was a roller coaster emotionally & spiritually for me. I cried a LOT. I cried for humanity. I cried in despair. I cried in joy.

Cash Envelopes: Month-End reload⠀
At the end of each month, I will access what I have left from my earnings, what envelopes need replenishing and if there’s anything impending on my TO BUY list to bump a given envelope more than usual, for example this month with my CLOTHING Cash Envelope since I’m back to work and have virtually no summer apparel! ⠀
This goes to say that some envelope will not be replenished some months but will others! ⠀

Well ,all of know the importance of water in maintaining various functions of the body smoothly ,regulation temperature ,delivering nutrients and so many more and even a 1% drop in hydration level can impact each and every cell of the body .So how do we keep ourselves well hydrated and ensure that we are taking in those 8 glasses of 8 ounces water per day?Sharing a few tips to keep yourself hydrated and healthy especially during the Summer and Covid outbreak. •Take a calibrated water bottle or even a 1 litre bottle which you can refill,by your side and sip through out the day.That will help keep track of your daily intake. •If plain water sounds too boring you can flavour it a bit by adding slices of lemon,orange ,cucumber etc and get benefits of vitamins and minerals from fruit in addition to taste😉😊 . • Consume seasonal fruits or their juices like Orange,watermelon, mango or their juices.You can even freeze them and make them into slush 🥤 or popsicles 🍭 • Another way to up your water consumption is by having coconut 🥥 water, butter milk or laban and herbal tea 🍵 Some regional drinks of India like jaljeera,kokum water also do a great job at hydrating,cooling and helping digestion. • Those involved in Sports or manual work can have electrolyte based drinks like Pocari to replace lost electrolytes.

Currently eating: “Cheese” + truffle popcorn for movie night. Honestly would eat this every damn night while watching @thecrownnetflix but I’m switching it up for the night 🍿 To make: use 1/4 cup olive oil or to coat the bottom of a saucepan, added in 1/4 cup popcorn kernels. Once popped I sprayed it in braggs soy sauce, drizzled some truffle oil on top, lots of nutritional yeast, salt, + pepper. Inspired by @mynewroots. Happy weekending 😌
Vegan Mac and Cheese 🌱🙌🏻
Never met a Mac and cheese I didn’t like. Especially when it’s dairy free made w/ pumpkin + @miyokoscreamery vegan cream cheese! So simple and the flavor is amazing guys!
Just finished abs + butt and I am thrilled to refuel with this💪🏼There are so many vegan Mac and cheese combos but this is by far my favorite that I’ve made to date😍 Rich in plant based protein + fiber + complex carbs = the perfect post workout meal.
This could not be simpler to make, just stir the sauce ingredients in a bowl + you’re done. I like to keep cans of pumpkin purée always stocked up and it’s great for days like this.
Ingredients: -1 box of @eatbanza chickpea shells -3 tbsp unsweetened organic pumpkin purée -1/4 cup @miyokoscreamery vegan cream cheese -pinch of salt
-pinch of garlic powder -1 tbsp starchy pasta water .
