On Nov 5th there will be a thousand reasons to vote, these are some of mine: "..for years past we have been harassed by a series of vexations, which it is deemed unnecessary to recite in detail...a contract was [unilaterally] made...by General William Carroll and [Indian Commissioner Rev] John F. Schermerhorn, commissioners on the part of the United States... It comes to us, not through our legitimate authorities, the known and usual medium of communication between the Government of the United States and our nation, but through the agency of a complication of powers, civil and military...We are stripped of every attribute of freedom and eligibility for legal self-defence...even our lives may be taken away...We are denationalized...disfranchised...deprived of membership in the human family! We have neither land nor home...Our hearts are sickened...we reflect on the condition in which we are placed... In truth, our cause is your own; it is the cause of liberty and of justice; it is based upon your own principles, which we have learned from yourselves; for we have gloried to count your...Washington and Jefferson our great teachers; we have read their communications to us with veneration; we have practised their precepts with success... We have read your Sacred books...embraced their doctrines, practised the virtues they teach, cherished the hopes they awaken, and rejoiced in the consolations which they afford. To the spirit of your institutions, and your religion, which has been imbibed by our community, is mainly to be ascribed that patient endurance which has characterized the conduct of our people...we are not ignorant of our condition...And anticipation crowds our breasts with sorrows yet to come...we speak to the representatives of a Christian country...friends of justice...patrons of the oppressed...To you, therefore, we look!...On your kindness...humanity...compassion...we rest our hopes.
To you we address our reiterated prayers."

This is happening right now at the Holiday Inn on Rockside in Independence, Ohio. I gave the hotel a call at 216-524-8050 and left a message with the manager with my name and callback number voicing my disgust and requesting an explanation as to why the hotel would allow a hate group to use their facilities to convene so openly (but also privately - you can't enter unless you pay $10). Feel free to join me if you are so inclined. .
Petty Biennial .2 challenges the notion of diasporic communities as a dispersion of ethnicities across the globe. Participating artists understand diaspora as a network and community of people across races, geographies, and ethnicities who are impacted and connected through the legacies of colonialism, imperialism, and neoliberalism. This connective tissue of social systems represents the efforts on the part of people of color to find each other and ourselves, a constant struggle to free our mind, body, and soul from inherited violence and oppression.
The group of artists that will be on view at @my ch_gallery collectively find solutions through family history and legacy, memory, and ancestry. View the artist list below and join us for the last opening part of the Petty Biennial .2 on January 10th, 2020! .
“What’s special about ‘Thank You For Coming Out’ is that because we’re an all-LGBTQ cast, our queer identities aren’t the butt of the joke, but instead the beauty of the scene.“ Throwback Tuesday, that’s a thing, yes? A few weeks ago, @gaycitynews featured an article about me and my work with @thankyouforcomingout for National Coming Out Day. I’m proud so i’m posting about it :) It has been an absolute joy and pleasure building TYFCO the improv show and then watching that turn into a powerful community and now a podcast. I’ve met the most incredible people and learned from them and the stories you all share with me about YOUR experiences with TYFCO are heartwarming and motivating and soul-filling. Also just really dang special.
Latest National Polling (Post Heart Attack/Post AOC Endorsement): Bernie Sanders jumps back up into second place within the margin of error for the lead. .
So here’s the thing about polling at this stage: things are gonna be all over the place. Some polls have Warren in the lead, some have Biden. It’s gonna move around a lot in the next few months. Overall it can be said that as we move into the next decade, polls are becoming increasingly unreliable. However, while a lot of people say the polls were way wrong in the 2016 election (because Trump won when Hillary was polling ahead) really they weren’t that far off. Remember, Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million votes, which is kinda what the polling would indicate more or less. .
That said, what you can take away from this current poll is that Bernie is sticking around in the top 3. Furthermore, when it comes to polls involving Bernie Sanders specifically, I don’t think it can be denied that there’s gonna be some inherent errors. This is due to the core of his support being comprised of young people, unlikely voters and folks that are unreachable for pollsters. Basically I would argue that there’s a ton of Bernie support out here that is not being reflected in current polling. Main takeaway; we are still very much in this thing. Our movement has a real shot at taking the reins of power next year. .
Happy Birthday, you Rebel, you! Live yourself unapologetically, commit to making every day better than the last, and when you think you can’t, know a General believes in you. ❤️
Completed Day 16/💯 a little late since a night of insomnia meant a delayed start to my day. LIT Cardio was 🔥! I burned cals and sweat buckets. .
Not ok then, NOT OK now! In 1995, protests stopped Shell from dumping toxic waste in the North Sea. But now Shell wants to leave behind 11,000 tonnes of oil🛢️and even more toxic water ☠️. How many times does Shell want to try this before it gets the picture - our oceans are not your private trash can.
