Our new grooming table is here! The dog bath comes in on Monday or so, as well as the colorful bands I ordered for Aster! The ones in her topknot right now are just black but I ordered fun colors 🌈 a while back. Got her feet and face shaved today after a quick wipe down so I didn’t have to do a full groom. It’s hot and my heart is NOT happy! .
How do you stimulate your dog? One way I enrich and stimulate Aster’s daily life is to allow her “sniff walks” to get more input from the world around her! Dogs get more information from their sense of smell than we do by far, so this is a good way to mentally exhaust your dog too. Dogs decompress much differently than people do, but I think we can all agree a leisure walk is a mutual chill out experience! .
After over a year of research, fostering, and preparing for the new addition to our little family, we finally welcomed Kupo into our lives 💗 He couldn’t be more perfect, and we are so excited to watch him grow into the amazing dog we know he will be 🐾

Today I got to go to work with my mommy for the very first time! It was so fun and there were soooo many doggies! I met the only other berner, Lucy, who is my soon to be BFF. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow!!! -
A few photos from the day we picked up V and a video during a stop along the drive home... Thankfully she’s a great traveler and slept the entire way! 4 to 5 hour drives a day, no car sickness accidents or whining 🙌🏼 We are FINALLY home! 😅
Rocking our purple @crazyrebels Kaos Luxe on the first hole - I can’t wait until she fits it, and the antique copper Illusion I bought her! Or maybe I can. Aster hit another growth spurt and I’m reminded that all too soon I’ll have a teenager on my hands instead of this precious energetic puppy. I’m reminding myself to cherish that funky puppy coat, finding teeth in everything, and the bouncing antics of a baby dog. It never lasts as long as you want it to. .
Prey chase drive, or predatory chase drive, is an overwhelming desire to chase things, such as other dogs, small furry animals, cars, bikes, scooters, etc. The movement of the “prey” triggers the dog to chase, similar to a reflex, and is a part of normal dog behavior. Some breeds have higher predatory chase drive than others, especially working, hunting and herding breeds.
Think of encouraging this behavior like playing with a cat. This is in most dogs but must be channeled and trained to avoid it becoming the dominant thought process and just chasing without consequence.
Here is Gemma’s nephew who just hit 8weeks that I got to visit! Already I’m able to encourage him to chase and be attracted to this toy and I keep it interesting until I say the game is over. This is an excellent easy exercise to engage the puppy to learn that “I am more important than anything else”.
I absolutely adore working with this breed of dog and believe any dog can be workable if you have the persistence and drive yourself. Taking photos of dogs and working with some driven borders it’s funny when some say “they’re so smart, and easy to train!” Well...yes and no! Smart breeds are notorious for being stubborn and require an extremely confident and strong handler. As cute as these fuzzballs are they need strong handling and patience to be the best companions they can be❤️. No this doll is not coming home.
I’m not getting a puppy...just yet😉.

Happy Memorial Day and thank you to the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Trying to bring some sunshine to this rainy day!
All this free time to train! Agility, conformation, working over cavalettis, any other suggestions? 😋 I have to say I am loving all of the quality time with my babies even if I feel a little bored out of my mind. 🤪💕

tyson & yogi - completely opposite dogs, but at the same time, they have so many similarities personality wise 😂 such a goofy friendship. it’s crazy to think at first these two were unsure of each other!
Not a very exciting update, but Aster is sporting her crocheted snood for the first time! It’ll help keep her hair out of her supper and water bowl, and out of general debris and nonsense. Excuse the border collie hair in her kennel. 😂 .
Almost got it! Winger has nice extension on the dock, and is tracking the toy, so now he just needs a “pop” up off the end of the dock! Our first dock diving competition is this weekend, with strict protocols in place. I’m very excited to be competing again and interested to see how different this year is compared to past years!
Today I am 3 months old and it’s been exactly a month since my hoomans brought me home!! I’m already 30lbs and my mommy can’t believe how fast I’m growing. She tells me to stop growing so fast but I just can’t wait to be a big girl!! Any guesses on how much I’ll weight at 4 months?! -
mom took me to her office and I did many sniffs and sleeps

This sweet boy has been in our lives for a whole year!
Here’s some facts about choosing Cooper!:
1. Cooper is the first dog I have ever raised from puppyhood.
2. We were interested in Tollers and Aussies. When I found Cooper’s breeder, we agreed on a Mini Aussie! (Miniature American Shepherd for the sticklers lol)
3. My husband thought a mini aussie would be Marley-sized (under 20lbs) but when he saw some of the breeder’s dogs weighing around 30-40lbs he was much happier 😂
4. I always loved the red merles but the first puppy we loved was a feisty Red Tri! Then she brought out Cooper and it was all over the second I held him 😍
5. We got to visit Cooper twice before getting to bring him home! It really helped us feel more connected to him once he was officially ours 💙
