I am very happy about my decision making I took today off because I am sore right now! It’s always important have a rest day. I got a little exercise today at work. I got over 12,672 steps and walked 5.45 miles. I am enjoying my day off from working out! #personaltrainer#rest#gymmotivation#life#healthylifestyle#goodworkout#obsessed

I am grateful I saw the sunshine today.
Sleep is so important to be productive each day. This is an area I am going to focus on over the next few weeks. I will share some of the things I believe help us get a good night sleep.
Sleep well tip 1 - LAVENDER
So I have learnt this new mode you might know it well or it may be something you have heard of but never tried... it’s called slow. And good things happen there Who knew?? I think I’m good at and tend to use two modes....fast and stop. All three have their place and the bits in between too but right now my discovery /use of slow is win! It’s working well for me. Working through my rehab I am getting a little more movement each time .
And stripy socks with leopard print shorts because new pyjamas... my best look right 💁🏼♀️🦁🐯😆

🌬 The breath practice we did yesterday was:
4-7-8 Inhale for 4, Hold for 7 & Exhale for 8 ⭐️ Practice ir for 3mins, then next day 5 mins then 10 mins if you can and enjoy the benefits of changing your own reality within a very short time.
This was definitely a week where I had to not obsess over my score. Normally, I think this would be a good #workout for me. I’m reasonably good at #toestobar and #doubleunders . And although the 50lb #dumbbell#thrusters are not light for me , sets of 4 reps are manageable (especially compared to previous years where we did sets of 27, 24, 21, etc.!)
In the beginning, I was able to do everything #unbroken . However, even though I had planned to #pace with lots of #rest breaks, my lack of #cardio started to show after 3 or 4 rounds.
By the end, I even dropped the dumbbells partway through a set of thrusters. At that point, I think that I was starting to break down #mentally . I had time to complete one more round, but instead started to shut things down a bit early. 🙁 If I was at 100%, I would definitely consider re-doing this workout.
Still, I am happy to be able to do the workout #Rx given my #backinjury , and am #oneanddone . Bring on 20.3!

We are currently in the shadow period of mercury retrograde
Mercury will be stationed in #Scorpio on Oct 31st to Nov 20th
I’m certain that many of you have enough knowledge to understand what to expect during retrogrades.
I’ve noticed that everyone is apprehensive about mercury retrogrades in particular
Remember that your choices are directed by your beliefs and attitudes
Yes we are influenced by the course of nature via planetary transits but we are always the cause of our own decisions
Therefore, your attitude about pending retrogrades will result in your experience
For example, if you believe mercury retrograde will always return an ex in your life no matter how much you avoid them, then you will exactly experience that forethought.
Retrogrades are intended for us to rest, slow down, plan, regenerate, relax, recharge, think ahead, reflect and reevaluate
Emphasis on the “re-“
Mercury is rewinding our experiences to make sure we have learned and grown from them and to also bring up overlooked errors and mistakes
It feels like quicksand is swallowing us all alive when mercury is retrograde, but we never fully drown
Mercury stops its quick sanding spin just in time before our heads are submerged under
Keep that in mind, the retrograde isn’t for the purpose of drowning you, but instead slowing you down to get your attention
For myself, I am already feeling the sluggish 🐌 effects and taking time to myself more until further notice .
Longer than usual post alert‼️🛑
It’s Octovember and we see the posts- “You still have time to meet your 2019 goals!! Make it happen!” But consider this:
Last year my parents tried to plant their own grass...and ended up planting an aggressive ugly weed called crabgrass.
Ignorance+enthusiasm = crabgrass
It’s the kind of weed people shake their heads at in dismay while saying “Dang, you got crab grass”. This year life put a lot of our home goals on the back burner. BUT. We grew PROPER respectable I can look my neighbors in the eye now grass.
I’ve learned two things.
1. When you’re starting something new, it’s okay to take wisdom and get help. Faith is trust in God, not mindless movement. My parents wanted to cut corners and save money in a rush attempt despite counsel, and it ended up costing them a whole lot more to fix a mistake. Sometimes we choose to take shortcuts when God says “pay full price and get proper grass”🤷🏾♀️ “Go to that job and fund your way to entrepreneurship” 🤷🏾♀️ “Live at home with your parents and save some money until I tell you to leave”🤷🏾♀️ Are we listening, or has online culture fueled our naive self serving enthusiasm?
2. Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but God’s plans trump them. Don’t end your year agonizing over what wasn’t done, or scrambling to make it happen out of sheer desperation. Respect the fact that you grew grass!! You were able to execute one, two or three things well and next year you can continue. Don’t let people hype you into a mad frenzy trying to do so much that you miss what you’ve already done.
What’s the point of a tomorrow if it will only become a forgotten today... planning for tomorrow?
What’s the point of a beautiful lawn you’re too busy to sit on?
This was my affirmation today. Created my to-do list LAST night so I knew exactly what I needed to do today. However, today came and so did the body alarm that I needed to rest. So I decided to do what I could and leave the rest be for tomorrow. The extra emails, marketing, and posting can wait.
In the end I'm a better wife and mom today because I'm operating from a place of rest... And that, my friends, is worth it. Don't beat yourself up for taking care of YOU!
It's been a week and a half since we arrived in sunny Bali ☀️ we're away for a while which is unlike us both but very much needed 😴
I believe in hard work and doing things well. I believe in giving without motive and giving your best to others. I don't do things in half measures, which means I give my all to the things that have my attention 💯 it also gets very very exhausting and I need to be careful not to take on too much at once because I burn out HARD 😅😱🤦🏽♀️
So much has happened this year. For a while there I was working all day, training in the evenings then straight home and into the renovation of our modest home every night for a few months while also prepping for competition in September.
In the lead up to competition I'd never been so physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. 3weeks before competing, my body was falling apart. I got a chest infection which was still there on comp day, my back blew out followed by my calves and my hip. Things that had felt easy before felt heavier and heavier every day. My mind felt heavy at times and I just felt TIRED 😣 I had half resigned myself to "just going to compete." I wasn't expecting to win, not given how things had been going, so when I did I couldn't put into words just how emotional it made me and how it kinda sort of broke my head a little 😂
Every time I compete I learn more and more about tapping into unexpected reserves of strength, stamina and willpower but with everything that's happened this year, we both needed a good long rest and time to recharge🧘🏽♀️ Alex and I promised each other that when I finished Uni and after we got married, that every year we'd go somewhere we'd never been before, a new part of town, a new country etc. We'd be open to life and travel and we'd work hard towards earning our rest times 😅
I expect it'll be hard for a few weeks when we get back but we'll be back better and stronger. For now, we here, we chillin or whateva 😁✌🏽

I demand SO MUCH from my body on the daily, from hours at work to long late nights at the gym. My body does SO MUCH for me. Weekends are my time to relax and enjoy time away from the stress, physically and mentally.💛
