Today I am so unmotivated to do anything. But that is ok. :) I think it is important to rest and have some fun as well. So today I will do a minimum of work and then maybe play a new computer game. Any cool game tips?
Week 1, day 1: my 16 week training plan starts today and funnily enough first day is a rest day 😂. I've decided one way to keep myself motivated is posting daily for the time I'm on this plan. Excited to get started and feel like a runner again, not a part timer.

On one of my rides this week @mattwilpers was talking about how important it is to set a specific focus at any given time when training. He talked about how although we might have many overall goals, overtraining can hold us back. Definitely a good reminder.
Anyway, for a while I was laser focused on abs, then glutes— still am, but at the moment my priority is improving performance on the bike and I’m loving it. Also, that should explain why I’ve been riding about 6 days a week lately rather than 4. When focusing on muscle building I aim for 2 30 min and 2 15-20 min hiit rides per week, but based on my current goal now I’m shooting for 3 20 mins and 3 power zones. That also means I’ve lightened one of my leg days. So that’s that since I’ve had some people asking.
Today is my rest day…
I have a lot of anxiety when I’m being “unproductive”.
Rest is an important part of mental health. So I have been working to remove the feelings of guilt when I step away from my to do list. It has not been an easy journey.
Today I’m unplugging and spending some quality time with the cats on the couch.

Me and Bruno went for a morning walk, I mowed the lawn, picked weeds from the flower beds, planted some more spinach and lettuce, harvested a small amount of own grown potatoes (first time) and soon I will eat a big late lunch (and alot of icecream) and take a nap. Might also take my labs for a swim later today 🦁🐻🌊
Tomorrow morning wake up at 5 am 😰, so trying to mentally prepare for that as well...
