I want you to know that the extent of our involvement in what’s happening right now didn’t begin and end with the post of a black square on Tuesday. We’ve been following, supporting and donating but most of all we have been learning and reflecting on how we can do better at THK. My mind is blown and my heart feels genuinely broken. This post isn’t about self congratulation or virtue signalling, it’s about putting my hands up as an individual and a leader in our business and saying we haven’t done enough. I now realise why just not being racist doesn’t help. I now see why affirmative action is so incredibly important. I think we’ve may be worked with two chefs of colour in the last 6 years... I’m not sure if a chef of colour will ever want to work with us in the future but I sure as hell want THK to be a place where a person of colour knows they are welcome and valued. We will be working to include chefs and recipes and food culture from all different communities all over the world. We are going to do better and be better alies. Im sorry it took for all this pain before we heard you. THK hears you.
Ps I’m not going to use the hashtag black lives matter because I don’t want to stuff up that resource but black lives matter to us. #solidarity#together#love#listenandlearn#chef#cheflife#food#foodbringspeopletogether#bethechange#change#revolution#heartbroken

Anyone that knows my brother, knows he is a regular on the #Glasgow club scene. It was @craigtee1997 birthday yesterday, so what better thing to do when all the pubs/closed than to bring them to you? .
I organised a surprise club crawl to take my brother to celebrate his birthday in quarantine.
Shout out to @thegarageglasgow@revolutionmitchellst and @swg3glasgow for “opening” their venues for us. Can you guess which venue is which?

Our vision is to become one of the worldwide leads 🌍 in sustainable building designs engineering practice. We strongly believe that #sustainable 🌱 and #selfenergy ☀️ buildings need to become a standard practice within the new generation.
➡️ We see ourselves as agents of this revolution.
END SYSTEMATIC RACISM
speak up for fuck’s sake, instead of posting your everyday bullshit... why don’t you just take a second to understand how privileged you are just because of your skin color!! Waking up in the morning and not having to fear going outside, not having to think that you could get killed by those fucking COPS! “cop” means to catch, grab or capture NOT to hurt, harm or kill. Clearly someone doesn’t get that.
Have you idea of how heart-breaking is to see young girls crying, saying that they’re too ugly just because of their skin tone? FUCK THIS.
Keep protesting, don’t pretend this is not happening. —————
“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”
Anthony J. D’Angelo
Having a hard time sleeping with everything going on...Especially trying to comprehend why the current protests are being argued / debated against...this is not about one incident.. this isn’t something new. We are all aware of systematic injustice. discrimination. Privilege. The past is not that far behind us. We must learn and move forward... #letsmakechange#learnfromyourmistakes#revolution#thismatters#humanrace
I understand that I will never be able to understand completely, but I stand with you. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #blacklivesmatter ⠀ ⠀
I haven’t posted in a few days as it hasn’t felt right to without properly touching on this. I always want to use my platform for good reasons and bring light to subjects that are important such as this. Racism is by all means something, none of us should tolerate or be silent about. As Martin Luther King puts it ‘There comes a time when silence is betrayal’. I want my followers to not only be aware of the issues happening in the world but to also speak up about them and be inspired to make change outside of social media. Below I will leave some tips I got from @emilybrooksuk and some of my own that I believe can help:
•Start an indefinite, open conversation about race and racism with our parents, siblings, friends or kids.⠀
• Talk to friends and family asking ourselves where our prejudices could be and making a commitment to addressing and letting go of those. ⠀
•Encourage others and myself to watch and read more diverse books, movies and documentaries.⠀
•Actively talk to teachers in schools about how they address racism whether it is seen as a current issue to engage in or a past issue? ⠀
•Buy from and support businesses owned by POC⠀
•Call out racism if you ever see it
•Check out the link in my bio for a list of places to donate and petitions to sign. ⠀
I hope this has been insightful for some of you. I also want my followers to be aware that when I start sharing regular content again this does not mean I have stopped caring about this movement nor does it mean I am not doing anything. I will continue to share information I find useful and promise to listen and learn more about this issue. Black is beautiful, always was and always will be.🖤 ⠀
"Love is in the air but the air is highly polluted!"🏭🏭
Soon after the industrial revolution the world experienced a new dawn, which the world didn't expect . The experts and wise saw the future of it! It was about to conquer the GDP of every single nation. And in a very short time it became the lifeline of giant economic countries. --------- Every dawn has its dusk, which gives way to the dark. Same as these industries lead us to the dark. Nobody ever imagined that a person can't survive without the artificial heartbeat that they have created. The invention slaved the inventor!! It polluted the world causing severe damage to the mother nature! Now she struggles to survive even though she deserves to live.
The human race faced many disasters, starting from Halifax explosion, Bhopal tragedy, Lac -Mégantic , Vizag etc. It employed and fed millions of people all around the world. At the same time took millions of life. A tragic balance sheet though!
I guess they are Thanos followers! ---------
We can't travel back centuries and start living again or stop the birth of a new revolution. The only way is to form proper policies and follow them. Industries are not only important for economy, even we rely on them a lot!
We made a decision to use it, so it's our duty to make it safe. Framing and following proper rules will help us to cope up ! Politics is everywhere, but playing with it should not happen in this area. The rulers and the ppl should understand it. #industries#pollution#pollutedair#pollutedwater#globalwarming#naturedisaster#tragedies#revolution#mothernature#deforestation#afforestation#planttrees#gogreen#ffupload#LGC#catchy_lenses#_everything_is_beautiful_in_

“What is real? How do you define real? If you’re talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, taste, and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain and that’s all it is.” - Morpheus, The Matrix
Let 👏🏻 That 👏🏻 Sink 👏🏻 In 👏🏻
This allows for a lot of manipulation. All the world is, is decoded information. If you can control the information you can control the reality. This is why we have censorship. If you control information, you control perception, and ultimately you control behaviour. (Check out my post from yesterday on perception)
𝐈𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Things will not change overnight, but this is a start. And let us remember how the revolutions of generations past brought us here. How powerful their iconography and visions for the future still shape what we want to embody today. And if there is one thing I’ve learned in conducting interviews, it’s that there is power in small actions — extending genuine help to a neighbor, donating to a local organization, becoming a patron of a new shop or store on a regular basis. These actions can change the course of someone’s life or their family’s. Knowing what you need to know is key. Knowing what questions you have and finding answers is necessary work. Be a critically conscious human being without feeling like you need to prove it. Prove it by doing it. Do what you’d hope someone would do for you if you were the one whose community was being brutalized in a myriad of ways. And if your family was in a camp, then you know this in your history; this militarized and government-sponsored brutality is part of your roots: people were killed, beaten, assaulted in the confines of those prisons. BUT, we now live in an era where there is incredible privilege to be Japanese American in this country, and that privilege extends to and within the Asian American community. We also have a responsibility to understand the multifaceted history of our beloved Japanese neighborhoods that were lived in and also loved by migrant black communities in the 1940s, like the Fillmore and Bronzeville. These are histories of displacement and redlining and housing discrimination that we should know like the back of our hand. Our histories are intertwined, and they also vastly diverge. Connect the dots between your own family’s experience of suffering from white supremacy and the current day oppression of black and brown communities. I didn’t say equate, I said connect the dots.🖤
