Vulnerability 😳 Let me start by admitting it feels way vulnerable to post a first video of myself on a public Instagram page, while talking to you, most of whom I haven't met (*yet), while wearing spandex 🙈🤣 Unfortunately there is no "chicken line" on Instagram, full comittment required when you put yourself out there and hit the share button. Definately outside of my comfort zone, but I guess that's exactly what attempts at progression on the bike feel like, and what my page and my soon to come You Tube channel are all about.
Flannel Chick MTB is about taking the intimidation factor out of mountain biking through relatable content, as I share my challenges and progression as a newer rider and late comer to mountain biking. At my skill level it's not about "sending it", and it's often not about "nailing it"(although that is pretty sweet when it happens). The page and channel focus is on sharing a different side of mountain biking that doesn't look anything like Red Bull Rampage 😉 Highlighting the beauty of the trails, the pure joy of getting out there on our bikes, the incredible satisfaction that comes from facing our fears and the inner strength earned when we push ourselves outside our comfort zone. All the while encouraging riders whatever their level, to ride for themselves and progress at their own pace with #noapologies .
I hope you will follow me here on Instagram and on YouTube as we grow a fiercely supportive MTB community. Join me this season as I ride DH and XC in some of our most epic parks and stunning single track locations across Alberta and British Columbia Canada. 2020 riding itinerary in a follow up post (promise no spandex in the next video 😉) And spoiler alert my MTB road trips will take me to *9 different bike parks and to Crankworx Whistler!!! 🤩 📽 🚵♀️ Flannel Chick MTB
You Tube channel coming spring 2020
Got a taste of spring this weekend and ripped into the van for the first time! Gutted and half way to clean, this baby’s gonna take some hard work, but there are high aspirations for the finished product🤘
