Posted @withrepost • @rumi_rescues Update on Karma #A1875809 Still Extremely Urgent! 🆘🆘🆘❤️ but good news.
Karma #A1875809 is still at the shelter. But——because of all the videos and Karma’s improved kennel presence, she is now able to be fostered!!! This gives her a much better chance of getting out. I spent time with Karma today (outside and inside kennel). One of the ACTs was walking by and documented a very unexpected moment. Karma gave me her belly to rub...twice! This is the first time she’s done this...and it got me quite super emotional. (Showing belly is an extremely great sign—it means the dog trusts you). Karma must know how hard I’ve been fighting for her. She has been showing me more and more every day. (Please note I’ve reversed the order of the videos/photos—the videos are from when we came in from a walk. It was after this that I went to go cuddle with her). Another urgent plea went out from Shelter tonight. If you can stop by tomorrow, Sunday (open from 11am-5pm) one of our amazing volunteers will personally meet you at the shelter to show you any of our dogs (I’ll be there tomorrow afternoon) ... let me know when you want to visit. Please know, we’re doing everything we can to save these dogs. Most of us have fosters right now—we’d take them all in if we could. That’s where we need your help. Please consider adopting, fostering, and sharing...also pledges help rescues get funds to pull.
North Central Shelter is open Tuesday- Saturday from 8am to 5pm. Sunday 11am to 5pm. Closed on Mondays.

Do you know how much to feed your growing pup or adult dogs? It may seem a little complicated but it’s really not - let’s take hulk for instance he’s pretty much been on the same “amount” give or take since he was 12 weeks old. His adult weight is around 40kg and that’s what I estimated he would be around as a pup. When maintaining weight 2.5-3% of overall body weight is the amount of food to feed. Hulk gets about 1.2-1.5kg a day. It’s super important to remember that this is just a guide and you can adjust it to your dogs needs very easily. Need to lose weight? Drop the % and include “fillers” like chia seeds, veggies, water etc and spread out the meals throughout the day. Need to gain weight? Up the percentage and check the % of fat you are feeding in the diet is correct. Certain fats are great and should definitely be included in a diet, unless dog has pancreatic issues of some sort. Remember extra weight is never good especially for growing pups and seniors. They don’t need the extra strain on their joints. 💪🏼🥩 .

ALSO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY ONE & ONLY BABY BOY. Rex Tucker, we don’t remember what life was like without you in it. Getting you when you were a mere 6 weeks old, and having the pleasure of loving and caring for you has brought a constant joy to our lives. Coming home, seeing your face, what little snub of a tail you have wagging, eagerly giving me and your sissy unlimited kisses to let us know how much you missed us. To the times I’ve wanted to scream because you ate my last chocolate bar (this eating my 3 musketeers thing has got to stop dude) but then you rest your angel baby face on my lap. We love you so much boobie. Cheers to another year with our best friend, the most handsomest boy ever.
And yes, he only responds to being called angel baby, or most handsomest. Call it spoiled but he’s the king of the house. Mommy’s angel baby. #birthdayboy 🎉 #rottweiler#rottiesofinstagram
