When I was growing up I had NO idea what I wanted to do. I wanted a flexible schedule and honestly I wanted a good paying job. I wanted to be able to travel and not worry about money while raising a family.
For a long time I thought nursing or something medical because I’ve always LOVED helping people 💜 unfortunately my grades weren’t where they needed to be sooo that was kind of out of the question.
Fast forward to today when I own two businesses in areas that I would have NEVER thought I’d be in (health/fitness and bath tubs😆) who the heck would’ve thought?
Anywho, being the boss has allowed me to have the things I desired in a career: flexibility, a good income, and helping people! Plus I get to work with my hubs and have complete control over his (work) schedule, too 😜
Never ever count something out just because it doesn’t seem “normal” or because it’s not what you thought you’d be doing. It’s 2020. Do something different, it could change your life 💜

A look into the gorge! The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park 1300 foot look down to the river from a Gondola. The whole park was 90% destroyed in 2013 in a forest fire. They had to rebuild everything, the bridge was the only thing that held up...only some of the wood planks had to be replaced. Such a wonderful place!
A visit to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. We walked over the Royal Gorge Bridge and gazed down to 1300 feet below! Such a rush! We took the gondola across 3 times and had so much fun exploring all the lookouts. They have an awesome kids playground that is 3 stories. In summertime there is a carousel and lots more activities and places to hang around the gorge. The big horn sheep are plentiful in this area and are fun to watch :) We watched the train run through the gorge a couple times and planes circling from above. The park is dog friendly and they can even ride the gondola!
Over 956 feet above the crashing Arkansas River, the Royal Gorge Bridge — one of the world’s highest suspension bridges — connects visitors from one side of the millions-plus-years-old gorge to the other, where even more adventure awaits! 📸: @walksyourway#visitpikespeak#royalgorge

I accompanied Shawn to Fremont county on Friday where he was the guest speaker for the Economic Development Corporation’s annual meeting. Typically we divide and conquer for these trips - I stay home with the kids and dog while he goes and tends to business. This was my first time seeing him speak on behalf of Four Points Funding and the work they do with angel investing and opportunity zones. He’s so smart, well-spoken and passionate. I am thrilled for the role he plays.
We stayed in this super cool “cabin” at Royal Gorge Cabins in Canon City. The property offers tent sites, glamping tents, and cabins. Views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range were stunning. We did not have time to visit the Royal Gorge, zip line the Gorge, @viaferrata , helicopter tour, visit the dinosaur experience, hike or bike the trails. So much to see and do, it’s a great place for a stay-cation. Next time, I’ll save plenty of time for antiquing in Florence, rafting with @raft_echo , marveling at all that’s happening at @emergent_campus and relaxing at @flobrewco
We were thoroughly impressed with the sweet main streets in both Canon City and Florence. We will return. #fremontcountycolorado#coloradostaycation#staycolorado#royalgorge#glamping#sangredecristomountains#edcgoals#economicdevelopment#morethanmeetstheeye

Overcoming my fear of heights may have happened this past weekend.
I had the opportunity to try the new Via Ferrata Experience at the Royal Gorge Bridge Park! The @royalgorgebridge opened up their #ViaFerrata systems this year as a new attraction at the gorge, where you’re able to climb hundreds of feet up the steep cliff walls.
This was quite possibly the wildest thing I’ve ever done to overcome a fear. It was physically and mentally demanding, but I am SO stoked I did it! Afterwards, I rode North America’s tallest zipline across the gorge, where my feet dangled 1,200 feet above the Arkansas River below. The adrenaline rush far outweighed my fears, and I had a smile from ear to ear the entire time.
"You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
When I looked up from this spot, my anxiety kicked in and fear crossed my mind. It is one of the last 3 vertical sets on the difficult route of the Via Ferrata. It looked terrifying and I worried that I wouldn’t be able to finish it. But seeing the top of the gorge, knowing that the end was in sight...the only way out was up. One step at a time, stopping to take in all the views, you reach the top in no time. It was worth EVERY SINGLE STEP. The feeling of accomplishment, the excitement, and thrill knowing that you conquered the wall is something that still sits in my bones today! It's funny how the addiction has set in, and I can't wait to do it again!

“If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.”
Walking along the Aerial Bridge of the Via Ferrata at The Royal Gorge Park was hands down one of the most thrilling, scariest things I’ve done yet. The bridge sways and bounces while you slowly step across... And the air from the canyon rushes up around you while you hear the roar from the river below you. I crossed the bridge, gripping tightly to the cables as I watched my feet move one in front of the other. But once I made it to the other side, I looked up with a huge smile, and had to cross again just to feel that rush one more time (and to not look down this time!)!
