First afternoon/evening run in months. I've been slacking off on my half marathon training, I had to force myself to run today. It has been a horrible week, work problems, not so good news, cold showers (😂), some internal struggling, but running is an out for me, when I run I just don't think about anything else, and for someone that thinks about everything a lot, is good to have something that you can just turn off the brain and do it.
This weekend's run is an 8 mile, the longest I've ran, ever. And I'm honestly scared, since I've been slacking off. But the fact that I already have the race and lodging payed for for the half marathon is good motivation 😂😂. Let's see how it goes.
Oh, I got to use my @noxgear_nation vest, got a few compliments on it. It was pretty cool.

My run back in London went well. 2⬆️, 8 × 1-min fast 1-min slow and 2 ⬇️. Got HMP or a bit faster for the fast segments. Pleased!
✱ Training that zone 2 is SLOW.... painfully slow 🐌 . I’m determined to stick to it. But LORDT the disciple to go so slow is tough 🙏🏼 , I feel like I am almost crawling. But I know that it will payoff! My husband is living proof so, I am bound and determined to stay on this zone 2 train 🚂 for some time this training cycle. 👊🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✱ Thankfully I listened to a new awesome podcast @almost30podcast who had my ultimate #runspiration on @robinnyc and I really enjoyed my run. The time passed by quickly. I feel with everything my husband and I are embarking on, it’s so motivating to listen to Robin’s story. I feel the waves of change coming 🌊 , I’m not sure where it’s taking us yet, but I’m excited to find out! 🙃🤨 #findingpurpose .

Back into the city tonight to the RunCity gym.
This whole workout was on a treadmill on incline lvl2-13. Thanks @bsiderrun that was a challenge! Followed up with a 20 minute lunge, squat, crunch, plank conditioning routine for extra fun. Great session.

MRI Diagnosis: Talus bone stress fracture
I had an MRI at 6 am the morning of CIM because I felt paranoid that I wasn’t fully healed from my injury, previously diagnosed as tendinitis with possibility of a stress fracture. I took 3 months off, and had slowly been starting to run again over the past month. Every run felt great and I no longer had the pain on the side of my ankle that I originally felt. But... I had all sorts of very minor aches pop up hours after finishing my runs- they ranged from ankle, to shins, to knees... literally everything felt off but I just assumed it was part of my return to running. My doctor suggested the MRI just to ease my worry, and I honestly thought nothing would show up on the MRI. I was shocked to say the least when Monday morning rolled around and I found out I had a stress fracture. So, a few more weeks back in the boot, and 8 weeks off running completely. Here we go again, injury round 2.✌🏼

Turns out 13 laps of London's Velopark last weekend wasn't enough because I was back again tonight for another three!
Nothing like a spontaneous dash to break up the week and I'm amazed to have scored my second ever fastest 5K time as well as 1st in the senior women's race!
I reckon my lovely @adidasrunning HD winter boosts gifted from the team at @sportsdirectrunning have their part to play 😇
So very chuffed with this result as well as clocking up a pretty decent evening of mileage since I took a steady 10K jog from work to get me warmed up.
“Unreasonable happiness”: happiness that doesn’t have a reason/isn’t tied to a specific event (e.g., winning a race, getting a promotion, landing that Pop-Tarts sponsorship). It’s contentment just because, as my therapist says.
That’s how I’ve been be-bopping along recently. Sure, there are days when my runs feel like donkey balls. And sure, there some days when the eating disorder thoughts are much tougher to fight. And yes, I’m aware of the thought that at some point something shtty will happen and I’ll turn into a blubbering mess on the floor, but it does no use to worry about that now.
Because I’m digging this life groove: the running, the therapizing (it’s a word and I’m going with it), the attorney-ing, the 2020 adventure and race planning, and the figuring out of what I want to be when I grow up (if you have any ideas, please let me know).
I dunno - I find the more I stop trying to find the reason behind everything, the better life is. Happiness needs no reason. #joy#zerolimits
