White oak slabs from Woodville Forest Products in Lindsay were framed in by drywall and the same lights in a square shape were added to highlight the stairwell. The railing we built upstairs blended into the upstairs space and had the added benefit of bringing the room closer to the fire and added to a cozy feel upstairs.
🌾How adorable is this rustic kitchen?!🌾
You can save a lot of money on a renovation if you can get creative, or search for ideas on Pinterest if you’re not as creative...
💡shhhhh that’s my secret! 💡😆
If you notice the cabinets weren’t replaced but reconfigured, trimmed out, and some doors removed along with being painted and some new hardware. Paneling used for backsplash...Voilà
The custom hood vent cover and antique island give this kitchen a unique custom feel.
The light over the sink is from Lowe’s and I know that because I just bought one for a closet. 😂 No Lowe’s doesn’t sponsor me, but they should, lord knows I’ve spent enough money with them!
The cute pipe bar at the end of the counter hanging the cutting boards can be found at hobby lobby preassembled, or single pieces at any hardware store I’d you’re handy.... Again another purchase I made which is how I know where to get all this stuff!
Suggestions on where to find the finishing touches such as dishes, cutting boards, decor on the top of the cabinets? Antique stores, garage sales, and flea markets. (Or if you don’t want to search around, hobby lobby has a ton of assorted decor!)

Still on the kitchen frenzy.... I’d like to introduce the best thing since sliced bread - the larder!! Why these ever went out of fashion is beyond me!
Before the ‘magical larder’ was a troublemaker of a corner. It contained a radiator and those troublesome waste/recycling bins (we’ll talk about those another time!). This corner was also home to Mike the Wave (the instant chef) and a host of music.
Now in the larder all the food is contained in one place, including the microwave (good ole’Mike), but keeping all food together, makes not only cooking but shopping so much simpler. The 80’s kitchen wall cupboard, whilst great at hiding stuff isn’t the best way to store, as everything tends to get chucked in, then as you can’t readily see what you have, stuff goes out of date or you end up with loads of the same thing. With a larder, you can actually see what you have - so less waste.....bet you didn’t know a larder could also tackle the food waste issue too!!! Oh yes I forgot to say.....it’s even got a sliding worktop, ready for those microwave porridge kind of mornings!! ❤️ love my job ❤️ #s0ulfurniture#reclaimedwood#independentlancashire#smallindiebusiness#madeinlancashire#handmadeuk#handmadekitchen#rustickitchen#kitchenrevamp#kitchenmakeover#kitchenlarder
And just like that, this kitchen is finished. Beautiful shot of the Chappaqua kitchen. And we love the gorgeous chandelier over the live-edge dining table. The twig and petal like structure brings a sophisticated yet playful aesthetic to the space while the rest of the kitchen keeps it calm and easy.
SOLD // Antique Wood Trencher Bowl // This dough bowl/trencher was manmade from one solid piece of wood. It has seen so much use and it shows in all the best ways. The color is so pretty, beautifully worn and weathered. This can’t be reproduced only time can do this. It was used so much it’s actually worn through in the center. It was repaired at one point (which was often done) from the bottom (see the mark in photos), but has lost its repair so the crack in the center is visible. It’s still very solid feeling. I love the little carved handles on the underside too! This is an authentic New England bowl that was loved for so long most likely by many generations. It would be a lovely centerpiece on your own family’s table. Still very solid feeling, you’d have to really TRY to break this more. *Price reflects condition. // 18” L x 9.5” W x 3” H.

Happy Monday, friends!
Isn’t this the coziest, prettiest Fall kitchen around?
