Monday from the Masons’ Hall Museum Room: The Bible used by our resident lodge Richmond-Randolph No.19 from 1812 to 1948. It was presented to No.19 by the original Masons’ Hall resident lodge Richmond No.10. Our brethren took their obligations on this bible from the War of 1812 (when the building was also used as a hospital for soldiers) through the Civil War and both World Wars. From the Presidencies of James Madison to Harry Truman when the world went from muskets to atomic bombs 🏛
Historic Masons’ Hall in Richmond, Virginia. Built in 1785 by founding fathers Edmund Randolph and John Marshall. This national historic landmark is the oldest Masonic building in continuous use in America and was an important center of civic, social, religious and cultural life in early Richmond, Virginia. It remains the home of Richmond-Randolph Lodge No.19 A.F.&A.M. and is occasionally opened to the public throughout the year for events and tours.
Learn more about the history and how you can help restore it and become a Masons’ Hall 1785 Foundation member ($100 donation) at masonshall1785.org

This past week, seventeen members of the Central Virginia Flammable Liquids Task Force, comprised of teams from Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, City of Richmond, Richmond Airport, DuPont Spruance, and Goochland, traveled to Louisiana State University for HAZMAT and flammable liquid fire training. They were joined with four members from other Regional Task Forces, Chesapeake, Salem and Roanoke County.
The training spanned across four days focusing on large tank fires, pressurized vessel fires, industrial machinery and processing fires, and rail car fires. This training opportunity is one-of-a-kind and is only found at the LSU Fire and Emergency Training Institute. LSU FETI gave our firefighters from across the state added knowledge, skills, and abilities in order to combat these complex incidents.
Personnel attending from Hanover Fire-EMS:
Lt. Kevin Morris, FF/M CK Cheatham, Lt. Jon Minter, FF/M Jay Clements, Lt. Cameron Bendall, and FF/M Kurt Kight.
