At Gucciardo Real Estate we feel it’s important to give back to the community each & every year. This holiday season Gucciardo real estate has partnered with Amazon to offer 300 capital region families a “free” carbon monoxide detector to keep your family & home safe during the holiday season & throughout the entire year. Stop by our office @ 1074 Troy Schenectady Rd in Latham this Thursday Dec 19 from 12 to 5pm to pick up your detector. If you’re unable to make it, you can send us an email through our website anthonygucciardo.com with your information including mailing address and we will have Amazon directly mail you a carbon monoxide detector. (Limit one per family/household) Over the course of 17 years we’ve sold thousands of homes and we still find that many homeowners do not have carbon monoxide detectors in their homes. We want to bring awareness especially for senior citizens who may have lived in their homes for years and have not yet bought a CO detector. We would like to wish all capital region families a wonderful, safe, and happy holiday. We hope to see you on December 19. #gucciardo#gucciardorealestate#carbonmonoxide#latham#lathamrealtor#toprealtor#christmas#safetyfirst#homes#homesafety#carbonmonoxideawareness#nyrealestate#wnyt#wten#timesunion#only300available#dailygazette#thankful#gucciardocares#giveback#518realestate

I was lucky enough to get out of the office & spend a day in the woods, and a day touring mills this week. My job is the most fun & educational. Every time I leave the office, and tour one of our properties, It’s like living an episode of “how it’s made”... I absolutely love my job and our company so much! But sadly not this look! #safetyfirst#hardhatsarenotfashion

#storytime . To everyone seeing this picture you figure "okay its a junction box ... what's the big deal?" but there is much more to this than that. A few years back I was helping a friend out on a job splitting up warehouse space into individual tenant spaces. There was a 480v 3 phase service in the building so we opted to install all the lighting using 277v. As the job progresses and changes happen as they do a relocation of a switch bank occurs. There was 3 feeds all in sequence (A,B,C) we had cut in all the wiring in the sequence to be spliced meaning the duplex connectors were feed in and feed outs with the single connector being capped for future. Wires were labeled with duct tape to avoid confusion. Tasks were delegated and tasks were completed. Now it's time to fire up circuits in which at that time we start our walk thrus making sure everything is safe off. We administer our continuity tests at the panel checking for dead shorts (hot to neutral, hot to ground) "all clear" as I'm walking back I remember this junction box and ask my buddy "did you cut in that box?" To which he replies "no I had the 3rd year cut it in". Since I never seen it I had to check to verify that it was done. I open the cover and this is what I found ... every singlen wire spliced thru ... all 3 phases spliced together!!!!! I ask my friend did you check phase to phase which he then did and let out a "WTF!!!!" There stood a great friend of mine in front of a 3 phase 480v panel with no cover or deadfront ready to throw on 1 breaker which if I hadn't checked could've been the last thing he ever did. I think back to that day often whenever I do a start up. Did i run thru all my tests? Have I dotted all my I's and crossed my T's. Its vital to develop habits of triple checking everything you do as well as others because complacency kills. In this career we've chosen often theres no second chances. Everyday we wake up and harness an invisible force that in a split second could end our lives. I hope those that stuck with and read this that this story potentially saves your life or someone else's. Be safe out there everyone.
