Thank you to my lovely friend @angschwering, who is a fellow #militaryspouse . She sent me this of the #lhd6 on fire from #coronado . All-day today, I have been answering calls/texts/FB Messages/Instagram inquiries regarding the LHD-6, a sister ship to my husband. When your friends who are not impacted by the military hear of something amiss where you live, all over the world, you will hear from them. Having to tell my friends and family that we are both safe and sound is never a good feeling. Today was so hard for many on the waterfront. A reality unthinkable, and one we try to forget exists. One we hope never happens to our #sailor : an accident that cannot be contained. You will never hear me say that ‘I’m so glad it wasn’t my husband’s ship’, because I have friends on that ship right now! I just got told by a spouse of someone on that ship that the crew plans not to abandon her while she burns. They want to save the ship. Loyalty, unity, and mission. As a #militaryspouse and a #navywife , it is so hard to relate to people sometimes. It plays into my #imposteryndrome . I suggest you check out episode 3 of my #podcast with @shelby_eytch to learn more about what it means to serve for your partner. 🔗 Link in bio! Available everywhere you get your #podcasts .

Ocean themed cake! Totally in love with these shells🐚😍
This cake was ordered by a sailor's wife for her husband's homecoming. It just made us think, how often do we take the time that we spend with our loved ones for granted? Couples like these make us realize how lucky we are to have our family and loved ones all around us. So be grateful for the moments you get to spend with your loved ones, make more memories and be there for each other. And at times like these we pray for the safe return of all the seafarers who are still stranded at sea waiting to get back home. 🙏🌊
Flavor: Dark Chocolate Rum
P.S: We forgot to add some pearls🥺
I’m truly in a limbo these days. What would you do in my stead? So here are my options:
Option number one: Staying in Panama , or better in this marina that I’m at now.
If I’d stay it would continue with curfew hours and restrictions for who knows how kind.
If I’d stay I would continue to hope for the day to come that businesses operate regularly again and people are free to move in the country or on the water. There some amazing islands in the Panama waters, but now no one is allowed to leave the harbour without a special permission from the coast guard.
If I’d stay it would continue to be frustrating, especially after I spend over three month in Dominica (which was a beautiful time but also a long time).
If I’d stay I would know that I’m in the right place to continue sailing west and cross the pacific even if that means that I would have to wait here for six more month.
Option number two: I go home, or better go where my friends and family are home.
If is go I could see my family and my friends that I all have not seen, since I left home (last August) to go sailing with no date of return in mind. I had the idea to sail the seven seas even though, I had no boat let alone an idea about sailing. I got amazed by living this lifestyle and exploring the world from the most beautiful point of view. Well, it feels like this to me.
If I’d go I would not have a home where I left from. Someone else is living in my apartment, but sure I could go and see them and my precious cat, who is still living there.
If I’d go I would crush on couches and had sleepovers wherever the nights end.
If I’d go I would be a little overwhelmed by seeing all these familiar beautiful faces that mean the world to me.
If I’d go I would have to fly. And I am beyond terrified of flights. Only the thought of it makes my heart pound faster and my throat tight. Some of you call me brave because I sailed all the way from Germany to Panama, a good third of this world but only the idea of taking a simple plane makes a nervous wreck out of me.
If I’d go home I would not go around the world in one go. I liked the idea of so much, that I feel hesitant to give up on it.
