We are long time lovers of @gilbertscraftsausages, with their Bourbon Apple being a family fave. 🍎😋 This #recipe takes their delicious chicken sausages we love and makes them the star of a complete meal (yay for #onepan !). WHAT YOU NEED:
➕ EVOO, approx. 1 lb of baby potatoes (cut in half), 1 onion; we used what we had- half a red and half a yellow (sliced), 1 small red bell pepper (sliced), 4 cloves of garlic (minced), a mix of dried herbs: 1/2 tsp thyme, 1 tsp basil, 1/2 tsp rosemary, as well as 1/2 tsp garlic salt, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper, 5- 6 Apple Bourbon Chicken Sausages from @gilbertscraftsausages, and 3/4 cup dry white wine (we used a Sauvignon Blanc)
HOW YOU MAKE IT:
➕ Preheat oven to 425 and get out a deep baking pan or large baking dish as shown.
➕ Prep produce, measure out all of your herbs, etc.
➕ Place veggies, herbs/seasonings, and a bit of olive oil into your dish. Toss well to coat.
➕ Next, take sausage links and using a fork, poke several small holes all around links. Then, add them to the dish, laying on top of vegetables.
➕ Roast for approx. 25 min. Then, carefully remove dish from oven (veggies/sausage should be slightly browned).
➕ Toss #sausage and vegetables in pan juices. Add wine and toss again.
➕ Return to oven and roast for an additional 15 min. When done, potatoes should be tender and lightly browned. Sausages should also be browned.
➕ When time is up, remove dish from oven and serve! Yum! 🙌🏻😋
This dish is a wonderful one for families because you can easily offer more/less of certain #veggies based on taste preferences. So good!!

Simple Summer Supper. Italian sausage and peppers with corn on the cob and asparagus grilled in a little Japanese Bulldog sauce.
I grew up in the 90s where a starch and steamed veggie was at every meal. I usually ate my starch and pushed around the veggies. (Cooked carrots 🤢) I am use to having potatoes, rice or pasta with every meal.(Rice a Roni- the San Francisco treat, anyone else?) It completes a meal in my mind. I’ve been trying hard to break that childhood habit and eat less carbs or consume my carbs earlier in the day. I would usually make potatoes with my Sausage, Peppers and Onions, tonight I made a simple arugula salad. Small changes everyday add up, start slow to change your habits! ❤️🥬 Anyone else or was my Mom just a plain cook?? Just kidding @loriinbay your “Chicken in a Pan” was the greatest! 🤪

Italian crockpot sausage and peppers is a super simple yet amazing dish that is packed with flavor. Not only is it easy, but it tastes like an Italian sausage pizza without the crust. Serve the Italian sausages straight from the pot, broil a little cheese on top, or serve on a bun. The recipe is also low carb, no sugar, gluten-free, and keto-friendly. 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗪:
1 pkg Italian sausages (5)
1 red pepper, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
2 cups onion, sliced
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup chunky marinara sauce
provolone cheese (optional)
Heat a skillet on medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan.
Sear the Italian sausages 2-3 mins on each side until starting to brown. Lay the seared Italian sausages in the bottom of a crock-pot.
Add the uncooked sliced onions and peppers on top of the sausages.
Sprinkle the garlic salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning over the top.
Spread the marinara sauce over the onion and pepper mixture.
Carefully mix sauce and peppers with the seasoning but leave the sausage undisturbed on the bottom.
Cook the crockpot sausage and peppers recipe on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7 hours until the peppers are soft and the Italian sausage is cook through.
These are seriously SO delicious as is, but to take it up a notch, broil the sausages with cheese on top for 1-2 minutes until browned.

Dinner is served! ITALIAN SAUSAGE & PEPPERS 😋🇮🇹 Ingredients:
2 packages of Italian sausage (sweet, mild, or spicy)
1 large onion
Handful of sweet bell peppers
1 can of crushed tomatoes
1 Tbsp of minced garlic
Dash of basil & oregano

If you saw @thesmokinelk stories yesterday, you’ll see that he took a packet of @thejollyhog sausages, skinned them, stuffed them with chorizo, cheese and jalapeños before wrapping them in @thejollyhog streaky bacon. But didn’t stop there. He then applied @djbbq Cajun rub, smoked the whole thing over apple wood in the @kamadojoe and finished it with some @southldnkitchen Blueberry BBQ sauce. .

A platter full of grilled goodness for dinner tonight. Grilled sweet Italian sausage with grilled potatoes, peppers and onions. I had mine on a brioche bun with sauerkraut. I was too hungry to take the pic but it really hit the spot. Hope your enjoying the weekend.
