🇺🇸 I got invited to a BBQ Workshop yesterday evening. We started with some king prawns marinated in sambuca and a wrap stuffed with a home made salad and pieces of smoked tri tip. #bbq#barbecue#grill#grillen#kingprawns#scampi#lecker#yummy#instabbq#instafood@wilminksparkhotel
#latergram of one of the (few) meals I made this past week. Life is busy AF y’all, but I did manage to make the chile verde and this delicious little number courtesy of @mollybaz: #shrimp#scampi with #linguine . I haven’t cooked with shrimp a lot lately, so this was a nice, light change of pace. K: Now to take Reed to the dog park and then we’re off to the Big Gay Picnic this afternoon! 👋🏼🤘🏼
Walking into the Prince of Wales on Gloucester Road in Bristol you wouldn't necessarily think the food would be decent. We were pleasantly surprised.
It's a local booze spot for old boys and students alike, conveniently situated on an energetic highway of bars, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of footfall on a Saturday night.
The menu is good. Lots to chose from. A good vegetarian selection and the growing vegan options were also present.
I ordered the scampi(£9.50) because I was on the jars and didn't want anything much. Rosie went for the cauliflower fritters(£8.50). All heftily rinsed down with a few pints of Camden Hells lager.
The scampi were really good crispy and fresh. The chips were absolutely class. Minted mushy peas tasted like they had been cooked with a little chicken stock. Really nice touch.
The cauliflower fritters on the other hand were immense. Rosie chose well. She had tossed up the idea of the bbq bean bake, and going against the recommendation of the barman went with the fritters.
Crunchie and tasty the cauliflower were cooked to perfection. Not greasy at all either which Rosie was worried about. I could have eaten a ton of them to be honest.
Decent portions. The cauliflower fritters were meant to be accompanied with tenderstem brocoli, came with green beans instead - Rosie was a tad disappointed.
