September is Healthy Aging Month! 💪🏼 Feeding your body right, exercising often and seeing your eye doctor regularly will help keep you and your eyes healthy as you grow older. A healthy lifestyle promotes healthy eyes! According to research presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, people who engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity may be able to significantly lower their risk of glaucoma! Foods such as sunflower seeds and nuts, fish, dark leafy greens and berries are also great for our peepers. Now, that’s some food for thought! 👀

Mi tutoress I is our French teacher and she looks nice although she has repeated 30 times the word "selectividad" in two hours.

This is what our life consists of now. 🤣 When we became foster parents 6 months ago, we never expected to get a call as soon as we were certified. Much less a call for a one year old & six year old sibling set. I remember the day I got the call, I told my best friend (@lacijo_) "Are we crazy?" We're young, new to parenting (much less foster parenting), plus our six year old hasn't had the best life so we knew he'd be a handful. When we got our babes, our lives changed. We were challenged everyday, more times than I could count. I cried because I felt like I failed most days. My life got so busy, I literally forgot to stop and eat most days. Life became a routine schedule. I had to start carrying around a planner and telling people, "one sec, let me check my schedule." And I literally meant it. For the first few months, everything was "GO GO GO" and I was beyond exhausted. Hunter went back to work after a month of having our babies so it was just me. I still feel like a zombie most days. But I try to give these kids the best life possible. So adding in extra activities like football, dance, and karate won't kill me. (Or maybe it will🙃) - we took "our time" for granted and some days we think we shouldn't have rushed into it. But then our kids crawl onto the couch and cuddle up with us. And ask to watch a movie with mama and daddy. & that's when it all sinks in. This is our life now. As crazy and hectic as it is, we wouldn't have it any other way. •
Monday Momentum post: historically how you start the week can often dictate the results you obtain and how much you accomplish💪
The reason for this comes from physics. Momentum is a concept derived from forces in motion. It is ALWAYS harder to get an object moving than it is to keep it moving. The is the law of inertia. It's a set of laws that apply to the physical world but is relevant for human behavior too↔️
Helpful tip for the week, instead of stopping at just a "To-Do" list, take it one step further and schedule a specific time to do it. This will reduce the anxiety and stress associated with knowing you have "x" # of tasks to accomplish while also structuring your time more effectively.💯

I love her idea of a "done list". I always have a do to list, but keeping a list of things I actually get done helps me feel a sense of accomplishment! 📝
She also has great ideas for using a timer: set it for 15 minutes to: check email, check social media, organize an area. ⌚

This is how I am working this morning. I’m tired after a fun but exhausting weekend. So is the pup I guess.
I try to work in my office most of the time to compartmentalize...or something like that. I don’t know, people say you’re not supposed to work in your bedroom because you will start to associate your room with being stressed.
But what if I just let myself do whatever the fuck I want when I want and see what happens? No schedule. No rules about where I can and can not work. Or when I should or should not work.
My natural state is structure and rules. I make changes by “making rules for myself”. I boss myself around and create all of this structure to make sure I don’t fall out of line and fuck something up. And it’s getting old. I’m smart and capable and can be trusted. So WTF?
I’m just winging it this week. Because I want to. And following the rule and doing things the “right way” is starting to feel boring and annoying. And I’m my own boss...so...fuck that
