Missing these snowy days in Romania. ❄ The views from that cable car are unparalleled and the skiing and snowboarding is world class at a quarter of the price. We had hot cocoa at the top and took in the views. 🚡
Couldn’t be more grateful to share life’s adventures with this guy. From hemisphere to hemisphere, around the globe and back again, life with @aaronpowers9269 is nothing short of exciting. Let’s do this!

Dave and I first came to Avila Beach in 2005. It was our first real getaway together. I had just flown home from studying abroad and he whisked me away to this beautiful resort on the California coast. I was 22 at the time (go ahead and do the math) and it was my first experience staying at a fancy resort.
My childhood trips and travels included camping trips, annual Disneyland trips where we stayed at a motel with a swimming pool. Which, btw I thought was the best place ever! And trips to Lake Tahoe with friends.
And yet, when I look back at all three of these photos I realize these trips are not about “where” we went, but “who” I was with.
Remember when you are scrolling through Instagram and see someone on an exotic family vacation, or places “everyone else seems to be going but me”, that what our children will REMEMBER the most from these experiences is not the places. Sure they may say they loved going to Avila Beach, but ultimately their memories will be about the uninterrupted time they spent with YOU. The memories they make with YOU. And the love they felt from YOU.
I could insert the cheesy question here: What memories are you making with your children this weekend?
OR 👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼OPTION 2: SHARE with me one place you would LOVE LOVE LOVE to make memories with your kids someday!?

We’re polar opposites. Sometimes it feels like we’re on different sides of the world, but we usually find a way to meet in the middle!
Here we are meeting at the middle...of the earth, or “Mitad del Mundo” in Ecuador. The yellow line on the ground between us is the equator. This monument is just outside of Quito, Ecuador, and the line was SUPPOSED to be painted along Earth’s midpoint. We should be standing on different sides of the earth at the same time...but we’re not. Why?
It turns out that the real Equator is a couple hundred feet to the north. Apparently, the nearby land where the Equator actually runs has a ravine going through it and the ground there was not suitable to hold a monument, so the builders chose a different location 🥴 Don’t worry - we visited both the official monument and the real equator. You can check out our next vlog to see more if you’re curious.
Also, heads up for TWO HUGE ANNOUNCEMENTS TOMORROW. Can you guess what they’ll be?
