Just because you use certain items for both business and personal use doesn’t mean that you’re entitled to the full expense or the opposite that you can’t deduct it at all. ⠀
It’s never good to assume, it’s always a good idea to check with your tax pro or accountant ⠀ #taxprofessional#taxpro#themoreyouknow
Multi-tasking today between work and personal life. .
One big thing I've learned as a #girlboss , taking care of myself is key. There is no leaving work to go home. In my world it all blends.
Make sure you find time for you over the next few weeks. Don't wait until Christmas break. .
After my commitments this weekend, my schedule will allow more of ME time. Not selfish-its necessary.

And so it begins....Tell me, is the bow too big??😂
Have I mentioned how much I love reselling? This morning I took my boys to have breakfast with Santa cow. Cost of breakfast was just under $12. While we were there I made this sale. I paid $2 for the shoes so $16 profit. To many $16 may be too low of a profit to pick up an item but not for me. These little baby Nike shoes just paid for a fun morning treat for my babes & that’s more than worth it to me 🧒🏼👶🏼 🐮 🎅🏻 Would you pick up an item knowing you’d only make $16? What’s the lowest profit you’d want to make on an item? .

A little re-vamp for this lovely client, she previously was having just her roots done elsewhere so her ends had all faded quite a lot. Swipe for before➡️
I made the overall colour a richer tone but still wanted to have a few lighter pieces running through to break it up. We both were very happy with the result!😍
I’ve never been had terrible body image for myself, but sometimes I do let those thoughts creep in.
It’s been a lot more lately since having a baby. This tome around I gained more weight. **probably something to do with carrying Fitz 5 weeks longer than Elijah 🤣** But it’s also been way harder to loose it. I was back in all my regular clothes within the week when I had Elijah. This time, I’m still struggling to get back in some 3 months later.
Running has been a STRUGGLE too which doesn’t help.
But you know what I’ve done instead of continuing to let it get me down? I went and bought new pants. It made a world of difference.
It’s the little things. And I can’t dwell on it. What I need to do is take care of my body. Stop eating when I feel full and give myself grace when I don’t get out on that run.
Because being a mom of two is a a lot different and I’m still figuring this new life out.
What do you need to give yourself more grace for? Are you working at loving yourself? I sure am, but it’s better and so worth it.
Thoughts this morning. I consider myself equal parts Cake Artist and Entrepreneur. Then I'm a Baker. It is *really* difficult baking and testing recipes with 19 food allergies. So. Hard. But I pride myself in establishing many of my own recipes instead of relying on the internet and someone else's creations. Our Spiced Apple Cider cake we used in round 1 of Santa's Baking Blizzard was a tweak on my most favorite Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cake recipe 😋 Kylie provided the Waissel soak and cinnamon brown sugar Swiss meringue buttercream. And Amy made the lemon orange curd filling. This here is my reaction to seeing all of our recipes (and shamefully yes, especially my own) coming together to create our highly praised cake flavor! If you swipe through you can see Casey's reaction to our cake cutting, the judges tasting the cake, and some scraps Kylie, Amy, and I snuck off the set and tried for the first time back at our hotel 😅 So yum!! .
To wrap up, I'm just proud of my accomplishments. Having food allergies is a huge physical and emotional issue in my everyday life. I used to choke back tears every single trip to the grocery store, unsure of what was safe to eat anymore (allergies developed and became worse from middle school into my adult life). I eat before parties, because I don't believe in eating mystery food. I ask 20 questions before trying a new food menu at restaurants, and rarely venture outside of ordering "the usual". And don't get me started on how sick I get on every vacation from the lack of control over what I eat! But despite everything, I'm a freaking all-made-from-scratch Pro Baker with bomb cakes, and I take every single compliment to heart 🥰💕 Thanks Casey, Zac, Amanda, and Jocelyn! 😘
P.S. This year alone I've had three cakes judged. This Spiced Apple Cider AKA Waissel cake on Santa's Baking Blizzard. My Pumpkin Churro cake during @utahtasteoff and @yelputahcounty recent Pumpkin Taste Off event. And my First Place winning chocolate cake at the Sugar Artists of Utah cake show 😋 #swipeleft#motivationalthoughts#cakeartist#entrepreneur#baker#pastrychef#foodallergies#santasbakingblizzard#foodnetwork@foodnetwork

Let me know what you think of this style of podcast clipping ⬇️⬇️
When it comes to podcast clipping I personally think it's the greatest way to get your content in front of your audience and immensely useful in generating a conversation around particular aspects however I see way too many clips that just look the same, generated through buzzsprout or a similar app with little production quality. .
I think it's important to stand out from the crowd and so I want to show you the unique ways in which you could be sharing your podcast to your listeners therefore once a week I'm going to be posting a new sample clip! .
For more information on my podcast clipping service visit virtualmeasures.com!
(Apologies for the generated voice, for future clips I am hoping to be using a real voice)
Turns out that, in addition to coffee and water, wine is excellent make-it-to-the-new-year fuel. (A lightly sparkling Vino Verde at an attractive but surely unsustainable £4.99/bottle in Lidl, if you're asking. Other brands and outlets are available...) Also: if this gives any colleagues anxiety - fear not, I'm not *working* as such, merely developing a newsletter as a bit of voluntary craic with a slightly serious / developmental edge 😅 #selfemployed#keepingupthemomentum

Throwing it back to 2015 today! A Few years ago arbonne had an incentive trip called the Magic of Manhattan. 165 people earned it and i was one of them. We were treated like absolute ROYALTY. They paid for all of our expenses including flights, a private driver into the city, a hotel room in the middle of downtown NYC, a $1000 shopping spree to @tiffanyandco (that’s where i got this massive rock on my finger) and took us to see the rockettes. That trip changed my life, and i don’t say that lightly. I met the most amazing people and truly gained a vision for what this opportunity could do for me after listening to their stories. Exactly one month after that trip i quit my job. I woke up January 4th 2016 and put my two weeks notice in and never looked back. Truly, it was the best decision i ever made. I am so thankful i took the time to look into what this was all about and worked really hard to make my dreams a reality. I’ve had ups and downs, setbacks and rejections, success and failure but all of it was so worth it to get to live the life i do today. If someone offers you an opportunity like this, don’t let it pass you by. Don’t stand on the sidelines watching everyone else crush their goals and reach success. If we can do it, you can do it too.

Top 3 tips for Contract Negotiations
Contracts seem scary, intimidating, not fun, right?! Wrong! Contracts are your friend! They protect you. They make sure you don’t get stiffed on payment. They make sure you’re not stuck in an endless cycle of revisions.
Here at @pandrdesignco, we always try to get our contract to the client first so they can use ours. BUT when working with big clients, they usually require using theirs.
1. Immediately request for the removal of the phrase “work for hire”. Companies always try to sneak this into the contract without bringing it up prior. Work for hire basically means the company owns every single thing you do for the project, including sketches, unused designs, etc with unlimited usage forever. We let clients know that we don’t do work for hire (unless they are gonna pay us a million dollars)
2. Licensing and usage is another big one that needs to be clearly outlined in the contract. Licensing is something that clients need to pay for and the timeline should be set for that. When selling licensing for usage of digital artwork of our murals, we typically give pricing for 1 and 3 year usage options. A lot of times clients assume they own digital artwork for physical murals so we have this convo early.
3. Specific timeline with revisions also need to be clearly outlined. You don’t want to get stuck doing a ton of revisions and you don’t want a project to get slowed down and last much longer than expected. Our timelines from start to finish typically are 4-6 weeks. And we always include ONE round of revisions with any additional revisions at $200/hr.
Contract negotiations are normal, and usually the client takes you more seriously when you don’t just sign the first thing they send over. There is basically never a contract we sign without making some changes.
“Be so busy loving your life that you have no time for doubt, worry, hate, or fear”
My life has seriously gone from 0-100 real quick. A few weeks ago I got into a car accident and totaled my car in the middle of actively working with 3 clients, taking on extra Orangetheory classes, a trip to Texas, and everything else my daily life already entails.
While I’m exhausted and have had tons of late nights and early mornings I’m eager to rise and happy to go to bed late. I feel like I’ve truly found my happy path. Now this doesn’t mean life is all rainbows and butterflies. Like I said, I got into a car accident and have had plenty of trying days.
But that’s life. Even on the day that I totaled the car I had been driving since I was 17, I still had so many things to be thankful for. Nobody was seriously hurt, it was relatively easy to deal with, and so many more reasons to have gratitude for the things and people in my life. And Kahlua, I could never forget her too.
Stay gracious my friends. Thank you for coming to my tedTalk.

CONTRACTS. These are the safeguards you need to put in place to make sure you get paid on time, have clear expectations, and protect not just yourself but your client as well. A few points we always ensure are in our contracts: scope of work, payment terms and how we get paid, hours available for work, contact preferences and tools/software we use. What’s a must have in your contract? Add it below 👇

Never underestimate the amount of work it takes to get from the left side of this photo to the right! Not to mention the amount it took to even get the clothes pile in the first place! I basically have lived at the bins the past week and while yes I enjoy it, it’s still extremely draining. Thrifstagram (as Ryan and I call it) mainly shows you the highlights and the glamorous part of reseller life; you don’t get to see the sweat, tears, ...and sometimes blood I guess but hopefully not on something nice... that goes into it all! Just don’t let the glitz and glam on here fool you or get you down! Hard work = big payoff!
MAKE. 👏🏼 YOUR. 👏🏼 WEBSITES. 👏🏼 MOBILE. 👏🏼 FRIENDLY. 👏🏼
Here’s some statistics that’ll blow your freaking MIND… nearly EVERY SINGLE PERSON using the internet right now is doing so on a mobile device and almost 50% of ALL world wide websites are viewed through a mobile device. SAY WHUUUTT?! 🤯
Yeah, that’s what we thought too. That’s why it’s SUPER important to make sure your website is mobile friendly. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you own, if you own a business in 2019, you freaking HAVE to have a mobile friendly website, period. If you’re expecting your ideal client to find your website via a nice BIG desktop, that’s nice and all… but it’s NOT realistic at ALL. We can’t expect people to be looking at our websites through a computer anymore… And because Google knows how popular mobile web browsing is in today’s world, Google now ranks websites that are mobile friendly over websites that aren’t.
So friend... if your website isn’t mobile friendly, get out there and edit your webpages for BOTH desktop and mobile view! It’ll help your business AND clients in the long run. 🔥
