Dawn loves the camera 😂
I am getting super anxious to start spring lambing and to see how many Dawn is going to have.
T-19 days until we expect to start! This is our first planned lambing season so we will see if it goes according to plan 😬🤞
Are you guys spring lambing/kidding? When do you expect to start? Or have you already?

Merino ewes hard at work producing the best fibre on earth!

One more for today, I can’t help myself 😍 My already pre-existing obsession with this ewe has exponentially increased in the last 24 hours. If I were a lamb, I’d want my mom to be Reyjka.
She has turned out to be a fierce mama bear, and is extremely protective of her lambs. While she is being civil with the goats, Annie, and Wyatt, She’s quick to warn if someone is too close. Stomping, head tossing, or if you’re Cheryl and are stupid enough to ignore the warning shots, she will boot you into the next century. As far as I am concerned, I am the chosen one 😭🥰 Not only does she let me get close and pet her still, I can handle her sweet babies ❤️
RESCUE IN PROGRESS❗️❗️❗️ Currently, two ewes and a little lamb are making their way to our sanctuary.
The two ewes were rescued in the fall by a kind woman unaware that they were pregnant.
The first to give birth suffered some serious complications. Her baby was stuck in the birth canal for three hours! As a result of this, the lamb was born with jaw neuropathy and needed to be tube fed for four days. Thankfully, she has made a full recovery!
The second ewe gave birth to twins. One died at birth and afterwards this mama sheep foundered terribly. She could not stand very much at all for the next several weeks, she got ill and lost all of her wool. Tragically, her surviving baby did not thrive as he should and ended up passing away just a few days ago. The ewe is still in a lot of pain and has excruciatingly sore feet.
While their original rescuer had the best of intentions, she found herself overwhelmed and in need of some help.
Taking in not one but three new rescues at a time like this was not an easy decision to make. So many of us are facing financial hardship as a result of this pandemic and that has greatly diminished the donations we regularly receive. Understandably so, but it’s still difficult to grapple with.
We are asking for anyone that is able to please think about giving a little to help these three. Truly even one to five dollars here and there add up to be so much. They have been through an unbelievable amount of heartache and will need some extensive veterinary care in the upcoming weeks. We also ask that if you are not in a position to donate please do not feel guilty! There are many equally valuable ways you can help! Like, comment and share this post. Tell your friends and family about sanctuary work in general and if you’re not already plant based consider cutting back on your consumption of animal products.
We hope you are all doing okay and we are sending out all the love we can muster. Even in times of fear life carry’s on and beautiful moments happen. These three girls will be given all they need to live safe and happy lives and that is only because of those who support us. Peace, love and sheep snuggles ✌️💗🐑
🇬🇧 🐑 Day 14: the sheep 🐑
Meet the first of our lambs—a gorgeous little ram lamb from first time mom, Linnea.
She did all the work expertly—had the umbilical chord cut and lamb to the teat before I could even return from dropping my own kiddo off at home.
Just after I’d settled them in their bonding space in the barn, the first spring thunderstorm came in like how. So the working name for this little ram is Thor.
