I haven't been here since March 2019, and this time it's a different feel as most of the natives have vacated the area after over 17 people including the local defence officer were killed in cattle wrestling raids by warriors from Kotido since mid December 2019. Ofcourse some young people and a few elders are still clearing fields for cultivation and going by their daily life, the locals have also noted that the rains are frequent something they are grateful for.

Our Monday Dulwich academy had their shooting session this evening with plenty of practise along with games and activities to test them under pressure! You don't often see me taking pictures at night when the moon is still up, but this unplanned scene that presented itself to me while I up a remote valley setting up camp for the night was just too good not to shoot!
This was taken at 10pm two hours before the 15% waxing crescent moon was due to set below the horizon, those are some large mountains I was at the base of.
I believe the largest peak is Taiaha Peak at 2241 meters high. Taken in the Canterbury High Country / Southern Alps.
I love the way these waterfalls lead to the snow and moon.
