"Ablaze" 🔥 #shotonandroid
Would you believe me if I told you that this image was captured on my smartphone? If you had told me a week ago that I'd capture a sunset with my phone and be satisfied with the results enough to post, I'd probably think you were joking. I've become so reliant on my full frame camera for photography, that I've gotten into the mindset that I just won't use my phone when shooting even when it's the only option available. But this evening was different. It had been raining all day and the skies opened up just enough in the evening to create some of the most stunning skies I've seen all year. I was out doing volunteer work all day until shortly after 7pm, and I unfortunately didn't have my gear with me nor the time to head home and grab it in time. I figured that I'd just have to take the L on this sunset and not photograph it. But I changed my mind last second and drove to the nearest lake I could and captured it on my phone. I took this 4-image HDR panorama and imported it into my computer when I got home. I managed to create this image and it reminded me of the quote: "The best camera is the one you have with you." Gear really doesn't matter as much as you may think. Just shoot with whatever you have available at the time, you may be surprised by the results.
