He is the best husband and father. So present, faithful, patient, encouraging, honest, playful, thoughtful, resourceful, and supportive. I wish I could fully verbalize how much he does for us or how loved we feel every single day. While there have been a lot of unknowns in our lives this past year, one thing that has stayed constant is his faithful leadership that constantly points us back to Jesus and pulls us through every crazy season 🖤
The kitchen nook is finished!! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have this project done. We started this way back in July when John built these kitchen benches. It’s sat in disarray for months while I tried to figure out exactly what I wanted. I’m so happy with the way its turned out! Swipe to see before the benches, after the benches, and now!
You do do some amazing work with borosilicate glass. Talk about making up for not calling! My kids would be totally #offthehook (pun intended)

MINDSET + PERSPECTIVE.
On my walk this morning all I could see was beauty all around. I mean, I know we live in a beautiful place, but being away for a week in the concrete jungle just really made me so deeply appreciative for our humble bush life. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I feel like we live a million miles from anywhere, and sometimes the simplest of tasks can feel just massive living out here off-grid. But we are seriously so so blessed to live amongst the trees. There was rain while we were away & everything is green again....everything feels so alive. Every thought & feeling coming from this place of appreciation & abundance feels so radiant. Everything shines more brightly. I'm learning to break some old thought patterns & habits that do not serve me. It's something I'm working on daily but choosing to live in gratitude wins every fricken time. Boom. Blessed with such a beautiful life. The beauty is in the imperfections 🌙

Food that warms the soul. This was breakfast this morning. We have been having some rainy, warm weather, but yesterday was absolutely frigid. Homemade sourdough bread was just what we needed. Stay warm folks!
We will never experience all that God wants to do through us if we stay in the prison we made in our minds of all the ways we are unqualified, incapable, or not enough.
He never asked if you were enough...
He never asked if you were capable...
He never asked you to be qualified...
He never asked you to be polished, ready, mess-free before He gave you your purpose and mission.
Nope sister...He handed you the calling to which He created you for, FULLY seeing all your messiness... places where you don’t measure up, spaces where you feel insecure or broken, the pieces of you you try to hide from the rest of the world because it makes you feel not good enough.
But THAT is the exact reason why.
Yes.....He saw us in all of our glory WHEN He pointed at you (and me) and said “her.... I want HER, to do this....” Stop living in the prison that we create ourselves.
Jesus already opened the door and set us free.
So walk out, step out in faith toward the calling.
Trust the tug at your heart.
Go forward with everything you have.
Because God chose your beautiful imperfect, messy self to work through YOU to show others that they can do it too.
Stop playing small when you are called for more.
Because He doesn’t call the qualified.
He qualifies the called. 🙏🏻❤️

OKKK, so I think I have a slight obsession with @airbnb 😆 ( I've stayed in over ten so far 🖤) .
I am so facsinated in staying in COZY + beautifully FUNCTIONAL spaces that allow me to travel, connect with new places + people 👫, but still feel AT HOME ( because I need about 50% of normalcy when I travel 😳 or I go a lil' cray cray ) #truth .
Do y'all have a favorite @airbnb you can't stop thinking about? ✨

SOFT SCRUB RECIPE.
So easy and best part it’s non toxic and full of squeaky clean ingredients. When you need that extra grit to clean your sink, pots + pans, showers + grout, toilets, etc. this stuff savesssss the day. Also my hands and lungs aren’t burning when I use it so, that’s a huge win. Especially when used around your babes + pets.
Baking soda + thieves cleaner are your only ingredients! Add some lemon EO for some extra umph, but the thieves + bs will get the job done. I just fill a glass jar (mines 8oz) with baking soda and add 3 capfuls of thieves cleaner and mix. It should be the consistency of frosting, creamy and not too soupy. Add baking soda or water depending if you need it dryer or more creamy.
That’s it! Super simple, super clean. Grab some thieves cleaner from me and thank me later. Scan some of your current products with EWG or the Think Dirty app and see what they’re rating in terms of toxicity. I know it can be scary to see or acknowledge what you’re using is toxic and harmful to you + your fam. But baby steps in the right direction make it easy and less scary!
If you could live anywhere where would it be? Do you see you yourself in the next 5 years making that happen! For me I love the beach and everything about it. We tend to go a least once a week depending on the weather. It’s about a 25-30 min commute. But what if we could live near the beach, like backyard near? Or walking distance? Is it out of reach? In my current truth it feels unobtainable! But is it? This year is about living and finding my truth.. it’s rocky right now and I can’t see it.. but I know God has a plan for my family and our lives! Whether it’s staying in Jacksonville, NC or Pensacola.. the beach will await us ! 🌊
I love dry shampoo. I really really do. I mean, anything that can take me from 7 day old greasy hair to flouncy locks is my best friend.
I have never tried a store bought one (no need, this works perfectly) and today the jar was empty so it was time to make some more.
Ronnie made some and brought it to the bathroom for me. I looked at it and said, “where’s the cocoa? That stuff will make my hair look grey without the cocoa!!” She looked at me and said “do you really want to smell like cocoa because I thought you hated it. I put the lavender in it but I didn’t think you wanted me to add cocoa anymore”.
She was right. I did say that to her. The cocoa makes it disappear in my hair instead of looking like I’m wearing a powdered wig but man I hate the smell when I’m washing it out... like brownies. It’s silly and not a big deal but then I got a fabulous idea. Wanna hear it? Because this is about to up your dry shampoo game
I remembered that a year ago I thought of adding my brown Savvy Multitasker to the dry shampoo instead of cocoa and never actually did it. Well it worked and it’s genius if I do say so myself.
Here is how to make it. All you need is cornstarch and Savvy Minerals Brown or Black Multitasker. If you want to add essential oils (I highly recommend! It makes your hair smell amazing) I add lavender or Petitgrain but you could add whatever you like!!
I don’t measure anything usually but I did about 1/8 cup cornstarch and just added multitasker until I thought it would be good, probably less than 1/8 tsp... not much really. Then add your oils and mix it up. Use an old fat makeup brush to apply it to your hair, I do it in sections. It takes me a few minutes and then I brush it out and I walk outta here like I didn’t just get away with not washing my hair for a week. Boom. And cheap... double boom. Wait... it’s also totally not toxic so make it a triple boom!
So yes you can skip that hair washing again if you are busy. Enjoy that extra bit of time you just saved by having a nice cup of tea and catch up on your show or knitting... whatever floats your boat girlfriend.

Just scored Amelia a bunch of wooden Melissa and Doug developmental toys and a Fisher Price pull-a-tune xylophone toy from the thrift store!
Using Young living thieves spray as a nontoxic disinfectant and lemon essential oil to clean any gooey residues and price tags off! These are products I feel safe using on my babies toys because they are natural and derived from plants. .
Check out my story for a little tutorial on how well lemon essential oil works as a gooe-gone! .
O R G A N I Z A T I O N T I P | File fold clothing so you can find things easily!
I finally took a few minutes this evening and got some of baby boy's things organized. I'm terrible about tossing everything into these bins. Then when I am looking for something, I end up dumping them out! Who else can relate?! This took literally 10 minutes and now I can find his things easily. Also hung the bibs on a hanger to easily locate them as well!
Oh man! The days have been full of joy & exhaustion. And now, I think my body has caught up telling me to r e s t. Woke up at 3am in a sweat & body aches head to toe. Took a shower and some otc and tried to sleep again. There are no days off being a mom is there? 😩 even went for my IV treatment today (🙌🏼) - highly recommend it if you are experiencing low moods/anxiety. But here I am, laying in bed with cold sweats/achy body, needing to get the kids up from a nap..feed them..& continue on with potty training & life. Remembering what my bottle says here, ‘Progress not Perfection’. Keeping that in memory so I lead my boy with patience and kindness, celebrating the small wins. We will get there & see the other side 🙃. #ExhaustedMom#PottyTraining 🚽

How you love yourself teaches others how to love you💞 I remember the feeling of how I felt after giving birth to my second child. I was lacking so much confidence & self love towards myself that I kind of just let myself go. I allowed what others said to convince me that I was never going to be able to look good after having two kids. I remember looking in front of the mirror all the time and suck in my stomach “thinking & pretending how I might look if I had the perfect body” and then say “Melissa this is just how your going to look just face it. I tried wearing fajas , I tried running everyday and I even tried the whole “eating healthy meals 3x a day and nothing seemed to work.
Any mommies that can relate?🙋🏻♀️ Not until my son was 3 years old did I come across Herbalife. Close to my first 15 days on the products I felt absolutely amazing. My energy was up (which was a miracle) because I was always taking naps but I was also less bloated and I began to see myself tone up which was the main goal of mine at the time. It’s been such an amazing journey for me as I have been able to take my results to the next level each time.

Resolution Bliss Day 9: List your goals & choose your word for this year! We stuck to financial, home renovating, and vacation goals for this year. They are hefty but doable. I chose the word "Intentional" because it means I'll have to use my time, energy, and money wisely to meet these goals. It also applies to more intentional time after work with my little fam. What's on YOUR list?
We've lost a couple of chickens this winter. Hawks are probably the culprits though this morning, and several recently, we've seen coyotes creeping close. Luckily the dogs alert us to the coyotes and the hens tend to stay close to the house and buildings in the early morning. We do our best to keep them safe but when they wander the property all day sometimes they catch the attention of a predator. It's sad but at the end of the day, everything is just trying to survive.

I found these areas today. Definitely food for thought. 💭 What have you been decluttering recently?
We had a love-hate relationship at first. I hated her smell; she loved me and brought me sweet restful sleep.
Don't write off an oil right away. Give it time. Be consistent.
She is now front and center every single night. She is also the most dreamy shade of blue ever.
German Chamomile, I'm sorry I told you that you smelled bad. Thanks for not holding it against me 😘
we officially made the tv-in-the-living-room-ditch a few weeks back before Ivy was born. its not for everyone (and no shame in some TV time 👊🏽) but we were sick of having it as the center of our main living space and wanted to replace it with beautiful art instead. we’re already excited to switch up the art/layout seasonally and make it a more cozy space that way.
it’s also pretty amazing how we have already noticed Beckett playing more and becoming more creative/imaginative. he barely asks for a show anymore too so we don’t think he really misses daily TV time too much. we do still have our TV but it’s all the way up in our finished attic space and it’s just inconvenient enough to not make it a daily ritual anymore.
Refreshing my cleaning supplies with this citrus lavender infused vinegar and just realized the vinegar from my old bottle has completely corroded the trigger sprayer. When I first started making my own cleaning products, I saved a few of the the old sprayers - just in case - and I’m so glad I did. Instead of having to buy a new bottle and sprayer, I just trimmed the straw on one of these and popped it in the old bottle. It worked lickety split, good as new!

Took me ten days to make this sourdough loaf (I didn’t have a starter) and took them 18 minutes to eat it. Being a granny is hard work!

The obsession is real when it comes to pretty wooden toys. Thank goodness the kids like them too. 😆🌈
My grocery hauls usually consist of alot of produce + bulk goods ~
Always keeping things stocked and prepped everyday helps me to stay on track with my nutrition and my goals.
I had mentioned a couple months back about struggles I had with my relationship with foods and since then, I feel I’ve overcome so much.
Keeping everything I need handy for me in our kitchen + pantry has been a life saver especially when I feel I’m getting those binging episodes.
I’ve absolutely loved being in the kitchen so much these days! It’s been such a priority for me to remain in a healthy place with my food and with that, creating a positive space for myself mentally + emotionally.
On a good day where all I need are the package-free items, this is what my hauls usually look like, but that’s not always the case. I still buy various items in plastic packaging but avoid what I can WHEN I can and that’s what’s important here 💫

What a sluggish m o n d a y it has been. I had to force myself to get a few things done around here 🙈. It’s funny how some Monday’s seem so easy and others such a struggle. Why!?!?
