Here’s some photos of one of my favourite places: the Southern Ridges, where you’ll feel like you’re deep in the rainforest despite being in one of the densest cities. #SG55

WHERE ARE YOU FROM? ⬇️
Seeing a bunch of new faces around here and I'd love to know which little corner of the world you're from! 🗺
I'm from Singapore. 🇸🇬
Currently living in Bali, Indonesia. 🇮🇩
How about you?? 🤗
This is going to be a long one, so please bear with me.
I tried to plan for the #fireworks all week. I thought I could learn from previous years, that was to just go to MBS, pick a spot and wait for the magic moment, yes?
I could not be more wrong. This year, in effort to spread out the crowds, the fireworks display will be at 10 different locations in #singapore . Eventually I decided upon the Bishan-AMK park as a starting point. @orlieverr and I reached at about the same time.
We spent 2 hours at the park walking around and camping at McDonald's. It is a huge area with lots of lush greenery, but we just cannot pinpoint the correct direction.
So we left, at 4pm, to the 1919 Waterboat House. We thought the rooftop bar could be a good spot, with Fullerton Hotel in the foreground pictures would look pretty sick. But as we step in, the staff politely refused us as the rooftop was fully booked for an event.
Lots of restaurants at One Fullerton, mah. Should not have problem getting a seat until 9pm, right? NO. The restaurants were fully booked. We even tried calling the restaurants, and either got no answer, or NO for an answer.
At the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, we found an empty spot! We quickly stamped our butts in the area, chope-ing the area with our rears.
At 7pm, an army officer came over.
Officer: "Hello, are you setting up for the fireworks display?"
Officer: "There are no fireworks here. It will be at Gardens by The Bay (GBTB)."
OMG. We quickly packed our stuffs and marched towards GBTB. However, we just could not gain entry. At 7:20pm, I looked for another officer, who kindly revealed the locations of the fireworks.
7:45pm. We reached Marina Promenade. We setup our gears at top speed.
8:18pm. The magic happened. Exhausted, I just sat there clicking furiously on the remote clicker. I must have taken at least 30 shots.
The entire journey was a very tiring one. But after 6 hours and about 16k steps, I am happy. The fireworks were so beautiful, and you know what? I would do it all over again, if I could.
